

  Sitting Duck Gangs by GTW

  This is a simple mod that not only causes gangs to not attack Claude but makes
it easier for him to attack them.

  Installation

  Copy and Paste pedstats.dat into the data folder.  To revert to the umodded
gangs, rename the ORIGpedstats.dat file by taking off the preface ORIG and Copy
and Paste it into the data folder.  Click to replace the same name file as
needed.

  To create this modification yourself, right click the game folder, click
"Properties," un-check the "read only" dot, click "Apply," click to "Apply
changes to this folder, subfolder and files," click "OK," and click "OK."

  Use Notepad to open data > pedstats.dat.  The gangs are designated by the
lines STAT_GANG1 to STAT_GANG7 in column A.  The things you can control about
them are:

  Save the file.

  One way to make them easier to deal with is to change the number in column D
(Fear) to 100 and change the number in column E (Temper) to 0.  In most situa-
tions, aside from certain missions, the gang members won't attack Claude, but it
can it be hard to have him attack enough of them in a time limit to pass a Ram-
page because having him attack one of a bunch of them makes the bunch run away.

  This way, the one attacked may run away but otherwise nearby gangsters just
keep walking and a batch of them will just stay in their spawn spot like sitting
ducks.  Some missions, such as "The Exchange" and certain Rampages (such as
killing gang members that have stronger weapons or sniping gangsters), become
much easier.
