Further confusing things it seems to be a straight adaptation for "IV" from
the 2011 game "Driver: San Francisco." I've further modified it (I gave it a
handling line to make it a better getaway vehicle, gave it the original '57
Chevy Bel Air colors inside and out, gave it the original cloud pattern car seat
inserts, etc.) and hope anyone who worked on it previously sees I've given
proper credit and handled it respectfully.

I have a special fondness for the '57 Chevy Bel Air two door hardtop since it
was my Dad's car when I was little.

The save game was made while using patch 1.0.7.0 and the "Simple Trainer" by
sjaak327. The "Simple Trainer" can be downloaded from the sites at the next
links.

  Save game file SGTA400:

  Bowling: 300
  Darts: won
  Pool: won
QU3ED: I beat the high score

Since the '57 Chevy Bel Air mod I supplied is meant to replace the Voodoo I
parked a Voodoo at the Mohawk Ave., Hove Beach, Broker parking space. You can
also spawn a Voodoo with the Simple Trainer.

Niko hasn't been wasted or busted.

I used the Simple Trainer to give Niko weapons 1, full Health and Armor,
$99,990, and used it to kill 200 Flying Rats, park a NOOSE Cruiser in the Mohawk
Ave., Hove Beach, Broker parking space, and park a Maverick in the Joliet St.,
South Bohan parking space.

"1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop [Final]" by Turn 10 FM4, Vlad_, and Kamaz43118

It replaces the Voodoo. (If you rename the files to replace another four wheel
vehicle remember that the Voodoo is one of the few four color vehicles in car-
cols.dat so you may need to adjust the carcols.dat line to sets of three col-
ors.)

This is a 1957 Chevy Bel Air two-door hard top. A "two-door" has a vertical
divider bar between the two windows on each side and a "coupe" doesn't have
those divider bars. The model is by Turn 10 FM4, the "envelope" (?) is by
Vlad_, and the original handling.dat line was by Kamaz43118. It seems to have
been adapted for "IV" from the 2011 game "Driver: San Francisco."

It has lots of nice detail work (the specifics of the dashboard, the pin-
stripes on the rear sides, etc.).

I only noticed a few details that aren't original stock '57 Chevy Bel Air de-
tails. The Chevy insignia of the original mod is an approximation, the three
indentations on the front sides should be gold, and the dash and steering wheel
should be the color of the rest of the interior and not black. The original
modders made the tires too thin and left out a license plate for the car but I'm
unfamiliar with Zmodeler or whatever you'd use to fix those.

I gave it a handling.dat line that makes it better as a getaway vehicle, the
original '57 Chevy colors (except for those three indentations on the front
sides and the black dash and steering wheel) in carcols.dat, and the original
gray cloud pattern on the middle of the seats in voodoo.wtd. I used a better
Chevy bow tie logo in voodoo.wtd but the mod makes it distorted anyway.

To install it, right click the game folder, click Properties > Security, and
give yourself full control over the folder. Then right click the game folder,
click Properties, and un-check the read-only box--click for it to apply to all
sub-folders, etc.

Within your mod folder make a folder called OriginalFiles.

Install and open OpenIV. Use it to open Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\models\
cdimages\vehicles.img. Use Edit > Extract to extract copies of the two original
voodoo files--voodoo.wft and voodoo.wtd--to your OriginalFiles folder. Use Edit
> Delete to delete the two original voodoo files from the game. Use Edit > Add
to add the two modded versions. Click File > Rebuild.

The mod text file suggests changes to make to the handling.dat and carcols.dat
files in the Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data folder with Notepad. Use the drop-
down box to show all files in the folder.

Use Notepad to open Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data\handling.dat.

(PS: I think there's a mistake in carcols.dat for the Sultan RS: there should
be a comma after 85,2,88,85)

I didn't see any difference in vlad_'s vehicles.ide file idea except a couple
of mistakes so I left the original of that alone.

  I used "OpenIV" to go to models > cdimages > vehicles.img > voodoo.wtd, put
"OpenIV" in edit mode, and exported the DDS files red leather and red leather_n
as .png files so I could work on them with Irfanview and Microsoft Paint. I
changed them to the gray cloud pattern used for the middle of Bel Air seats then
used "OpenIV" to replace the originals. I also exported the file bump, etc.,
and put a better Chevy bow tie logo on it but the game distorts it so it isn't
much better.

  The Taxi bug

The glitch is that using a vehicle mod can cause a lot of taxis to spawn.
It's not the fault of your computer. If the size of mods creates a vehicles.img
size increase it causes the game to handle more than it's designed to so it
spawns common vehicles--taxis (sometimes police cars).

The solution is to use [IV] RIL.Budgeted by NTAuthority
  Population budget adjuster/taxi bug fix
  http://gtaforums.com/topic/744584-iv-rilbudgeted-population-budget-adjustertaxi-bug-fix/

  It comes with two files:
  RIL.Budgeted.asi
  RIL.Budgeted.ini

Set the vehicle count in RIL.Budgeted.ini to the size in bytes of your vehi-
cles.img if you have sufficient VRAM--over 1.5 GB of system RAM. If not, the
amount gets divided by 3.

To determine the size of vehicles.img go to the main game folder > pc > models
> cdimages > vehicles.img. Right click it, click Properties, and take down the
size in bytes.

For example, my vehicles.img is 99,382 KB.
I right click vehicles.img, click Properties, and get
  Size: 97.0 MB (101,767,168 bytes)
Size on disk: 97.0 MB (101,769,216 bytes)

So I'd use 101,767,168 and remove the commas to get 101767168
In the RIL.Budgeted.ini file I'd replace
  VehicleBudget=40000000
  with
  VehicleBudget=101767168

Copy and Paste both mod files...
  RIL.Budgeted.asi
  RIL.Budgeted.ini
  ...into your main game folder.

How to mod a vehicle to not have dirt by rextex128
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYsLTv0VSiY

Change the Grand Theft Auto IV > common > data folder so it isn't read only.
(Right click it, click Properties, un-check the Read-only (Only applies to files
in folder) box, click Apply, click OK on the Confirm Attribute submenu, wait for
it to finish, click OK.)
Open Accessories > Notepad. Go to Grand Theft Auto IV > common > data. Click
the drop-down box which says "Text Documents (*.txt)" and select "All Files
(*.*)." Open vehicles.ide.
Go to the name of the vehicle you want to stay clean.
Go to the next to the last column (the one of small numbers before the last
column which has descriptions) and change the DefDirtLevel flag for dirt from
whatever number between commas to
  ,0,
  Close and Save.
