well i did JUST make this computer
so it should all be up to date!
I mean your drivers. Just because it's new doesn't mean there aren't new drivers available. Check the websites of the products and search drivers. This usually fixes a lot of technical issues.
Example: Go to the Nvidia website and search drivers, then install the latest version available.

I just built my new computer, and am installing all my old games again, GTAIII wont start!!!!
It used to get to the logo then go back to desktop and do nothing, but after i installed the 1.1 update my computer sort of "blinks" going black for a millisecond then going back to desktop, please help cause i really want to play it with GTAIII real on (but want it to actually RUN first before i mod it)

I tend to agree w/ FG on this one. The EA sports games are usually the most expensive for the first month than their prices fall faster than real estate in Detroit. The better approach would be to make DLC available for these games (say mid season) & collect off that making the older games worth a little more & still profitable.
Not too long ago Microsoft payed someone $50 mil for something like that & made out pretty well.
Continuing on the argument, by rights they should owe me something back for Godfather II being so short (100% complete in under 30 hours) & having dismally small maps. Not holding my breath on that.
One of the things I've been up to in my absence is testing rebuilt X360s so I'm on the same page over how this affects the small independent shops that mainly deal in used games.

Urban, my boy, I knew you'd have something to say man. No body can say it's not a big deal, because it is. I love my local game shops and I wanna keep going to them for my used game needs. That's where I'm speaking from. This will hurt those guys big time. Especially when others follow along.
The whole point is, guys and gals, EA ain't hurting for money. Every year, they profit from the previous year, atleast most of the time. How in the fuck does offering online service cost EA? If in some way it does, they've never expressed it and they sure as shit ain't laying people off because of it. They don't need it, they WANT it so they can all get a big, fat ass bonus.
When people stop buying their games because of this online pass shit, and EAs (and Ubisofts) profits start to fall, they'll realize that taxing their loyal fans ain't the brightest of ideas. We complain about the price of games, but what do we do about? Not a damn thing. At this rate, us average Johns, Janes, Joes and Jills won't be able to get the latest installment of our favorite game franchises on launch day. From $50 to $60 and now $70, all within the last 5 years or so, respectivley. Do we want to see $80 and $90?

Some times you just gotta take care of business. After a week and I'm ready to explode, but if I get pussy on a Friday night, I'm prolly gonna crank one out on Saturday. A habit I formed in my teen years I guess.
Masterbation is more habit forming than cigarettes.... to me anyways. I could smoke a pack every three to four days, my usual rate when I actually do smoke a pack, for a month solid and never smoke again. But when boredom sets in, I fall back on the old four knuckle shuffle.

to an extent. you'll be able to upgrade ram/video card/hard disk/cd drive easy. CPU however probably not. depends if AMD goes with a new architecture for their next processors, then it may not be compatible with the motherboard for obvious reasons. if its the same architecture, it might be compatible with a bios flash, but we dont know that for sure. besides its a good quadcore AMD, generally with games it's not the CPU that is bottlenecked, but more likely the video card. that video card is quite good too, its performance is just below that of the nvidia GTX260, but this card supports DX11.
however if you upgrade to some huge video card (like a 5870 or one of the new nVidia) maybe you will want to upgrade the PSU.
I DO think I've descided to buy these parts and assemble this rig. I watched some videos on youtube with a guy running a VERY similar setup, and he could play Crysis on full settings at around 23 fps. In the video, there was some lag but he was also running fraps in the background. He claims there is no lag without fraps.
In the future, I would like to get another HD5770 and run the two in SLi and ofcourse go up to 8 GB of RAM.

sorry to be brutally honest lol. the cpu is OK but no chance with intel graphics.
Especially if your laptop doesn't come with an expansion slot for a graphics card. It's either that you spend more money on a gaming laptop, which costs a fortune, or content your gaming existence in a cage by getting a reasonably powerful desktop.
That's what I thought. I called HP and they said I should be able to play whatever I wanted. I thought that sounded wrong. I'm gonna either buy a desktop or build one.
Any tips for building one? My budget is about $750. My local shop has one for $800. Thoughts?

To me the colours look like sort of "vice cityish" but i cant seem to make out anything from that little picture. i reckon the "opens march everywhere" is the release of the new game next year because then it would've been 2 years since gtaIv came out. and 2 years is kind of the sort of gap that rockstar gives between games
The color is very Vicy City-esc. It looks, to me, to be from a light green button up shirt like the one Tommy V wore in Vice City. Though his might have been a bit more blue. As for the two years thing, I agree! I've been saying that we'll hear something of GTA V before the end of 2010. I think this kind of backs that up. I just picture Rockstar releasing the full image and it being a guy wearing a green button up shirt, slacks, pulling down his shades with a cigarette in his mouth and palm trees and bikini babes behind him.

FERANDO!!!!! Awesome news. Intersting that the new radio station is exlusive to the Episodes of Liberty City. Thats a decision those that have already bought TLAD will have to make. Geez so many great games are coming up in the next two months.
Actually it's only in The Ballad of Gay Tony. But since BoGT is in Episodes from Liberty City, well it only makes since.

I think that Chicago would be a great place for the next GTA! It's kind of like New York, which Liberty City was modeled after, obviously. Plus it could give Rockstar the chance to put snow into the game.
On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if they rehashed Vice City or San Andreas. To be honest I'd love to see Vice City brought up to date.Yet on another hand, I don't doubt Rockstar will set it in a new city.
If I had to say I want to see something in GTA V, I'd say a full seasonal cycle. I really would love to see snow presented in a realistic way in an open world game.
Also, I hate it when developers focus on making game worlds bigger. Not that Rockstar is one of those developers. I'm just saying I really don't give a damn how many square kilometers a game covers. They need to focus on making more fully detailed interiors that can be accessed and explored. I'd like to see that in GTA V.

Funny thing, on a recent Gametrailers TV, Jeronimo Barrera said that GTA IV is over. So no more DLC will happen. On top of that, the fact that MS paid 50 mill for the content and the fact the Chris was told PS3 gets squat makes me call bullshit. So content for the abomination that is PS3 Home, is the most likely, which I still doubt.

Im starting to believe Rockstar games is going a little overboard with the GTAIV city. It was fun the first time around but come on! enough is enough, come out with a whole new game next time WITHOUT episodic content because your dragging this game out for the money for way to long. I mean dont get me wrong, GTAIV is amazing! and so is the L&D but its just being dragged on a bit.

.I don't think the episodic content is going anywhere. Especially after seeing how successful the last two episodes where. I believe firmly that next time it'll only get bigger and better. I think with GTA V, we'll see even more DLC. Except next round will be multi platform. It's apart of the GTA franchise now. It would be like if they took out online multiplayer. It wouldn't make any since because it's a part of what makes the game great.

In Gta V They should bring the gangs back, for one thing. I liked the ability to be able to grab some hommies and go shoot up the place. Sure there are mods that allow you to do this in iV but it's not the same as grabbing some members of you're gang and and going to an enemy gangland and shooting at random. Just not as fun.
In Gta V they should bring back the ability to buy houses. What should we do with all the money we get? In GTA V i have 600k and I'm not even finished with the storyline missions, and i have NOTHING to spend it on. You should be able to buy Cars as well. I feel like just walking up to a random car and taking it with little to no repercussions is just too unrealistic. It doesn't suite the new graphics engine and the level of realism that Gta IV brought to the series.
In Gta IV when you get arrested for committing a triple homicide, steeling 4 cars, and killing countless police officers, you're punishment is either getting seriously injured and waking up at a hospital with 10 grand in medical bills with nothing else to show for it, or you get arrested, and pay 10 grand to the police and lose your weapons. For me it seems all too easy. If you've ever played the Jailbreak mod for iV i think there should be something along those lines for being arrested. If not for every time, at least for being arrested at 4 Star++ wanted ratings. As for getting killed, you should at least lose you're weapons, if not more money.
As for the game engine itself, they should redesign it to work with PC. They just ported the code from the console to PC and altered it to make it work (As far as I have read, don't quote me on this) which resulted in a terribly laggy game engine that requires the equivalent of a supercomputer of sorts to run at maximum graphic with a 60+ frame rate.
For the car driving aspect i believe that the engine for that is near perfect. The cars drive realistically (Minus the fact that you can crash head on at 60 MPH and keep driving) what with the way they sway back and fourth when you turn. They handle well too. The only problem with the driving aspect of the game is they way they deform when they crash. For the next Gta they should implement DMM technologies for the car deformation.

Here is the thing though. That Star Wars demo is running on Euphoria. Which is the engine that drives the physics in GTA IV. RAGE does everything else. I don't think they'll change that. Hopefully they'll update RAGE to do things like that.

The Carolina, Jupiter and Saturn. All three rock! Look at the Hi, gloss model Saturn with rosewood and sap wood. It gives the guitar an amazing "zebra" look. Sorry for being late on this reply.

For acoustics, there is Faith, Ovation and Dean. As for electrics, ESPs, Deans, Edwards, older Gibsons and PRS.

I got an offer to trade for a new 06, American Tele in ocean blue. I'm not really a Tele guy though. Think I should go for it and try to sell it? How much do you wanna spend on a new amp?

Something like a Peavey Vypyr (tube only, with Sempara pedal) or an old 6505 combo, 5150 combo or anything that's not solid state and has a good tone. NO LINE 6! If anyone offers line 6 I just laugh at them and point.
Mmmm teles are nice, the design is cool and they have a nice "twangy" sound. But if it's not really your thing it isnt really worth it.
I've been looking for a new amp, since mine IS a fucking line 6, it's pretty shitty, but I don't know a good amp that is you know not too expensive.
What kind of stuff do you play?
Well I was just thinking maybe I'll have better luck selling a new tele than an old LP Studio.

So you know I came up with this idea on the come up of a mushroom trip..... my first mushroom trip.
My idea is that the guy speaking at the beginning of the trailer was a banker or wallstreet type and he's done with that life style. Yeah it sounds bizarre I know, but he's always sharp dressed in the trailer, except in the heist scene. Also the shot of him overlooking the city makes me think he owns a rooftop condo or something similar.
So what do you guys think?
