  1. Except that the GTA4/5 era is a reboot of the series, and most if not any references to GTA3-era characters are disregarded.
  2. I don't have any hard feelings with you, though. Just don't take my jab too seriously.
  3. He's a sarcastically jaded young lad, that's why.
  4. Can you post your computer's specs, please?
  5. Hard drive failures are a bitch indeed. My Strawberryland Forum sites are also running fine now, although the other subdomains are still fucked and pending repair.
  6. So this is what they get from our tax money. As for the Philippine constabulary having one, well, unlikely. Unless if they manage to clean the crooked bastards off their ranks.
  7. I'm pretty sure there's a cheap used Action Replay or some other save device that you can buy for your PS2.
  8. They might have a PS4 devkit before the platform was formally announced, but idk.
  9. Yeah, I'm not really that amazed with the social features. Sims 3 has a social sharing feature, but I barely use it anyway. As for the Teamviewer-style friend control, well, that would be neato. Architecture-wise, the move to an x86, commodity PC platform is a welcome move, but it's moot considering that you won't have any PS3 backwards-compatibility, and adding the Cell and the RSX on a PS4 would bloat the price tag up. inb4 hacker projects attempting to run Windows or Linux on the PS4...
  10. OR they could use dual layer DVD's :-/ To my knowledge Xbox 360 games take up a lot less space than PC's games. Well I don't know any PC games that I couldn't fit on one dual layer DVD. Max Payne 3 probably wouldn't fit, but half of the disk space Max Payne 3 uses is for cutscenes, this could have been avoided if they weren't pre-rendered in super-ultra-HD-crap quality. They should have just used live-3D cutscenes, let the GPU decide how well they look. That's one of the gripes people had with Max Payne 3. IMO it's just a way to mask the presence of a loading screen, and it seemed to get in the way too often.
  11. Exactly. As for graphics it's either that the developers are lazy, or the platform itself being an ass to program. Then again the benefit of shoving loads of data on one platter is enough for Blu-Ray to be a viable medium. Take for example the Nintendo 64. The platform was a tad more powerful than its contemporaries, and didn't suffer from affine texture swimming ala-PS1. What dragged it down was, besides the texture cache, is Nintendo's insistence on cartridges despite others using CD-ROMs. Carts are a lot more complex, and thus, expensive to manufacture, and the supposed benefits of it compared to CDs are moot point. You can get away with putting Final Fantasy on two or more discs, while it would be an ass to do on the 64.
  12. Should've used footage other than the original bunker scene - the Hitler Parody Wiki has download links to several others: http://hitlerparody.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_scenes 'Tis funny, though.
  13. OK, fine, I have a short attention span and I often get distracted easily. My prob is that my employer, i.e. my brother, tends to raise his voice or yell at me for even a single trivial question or issue, and when I bring the question as to whether I can resign, it's either him that's subjecting me to drivel as to what I'm going to do afterwards, or my parents berating me for how I work. It's hard for me to focus on one thing, but I'm trying to. It's just that I tend to be quite sensitive and get buzzed off whenever someone yells at me for any reason. /vent
  14. Yeah, there is, but I'd rather futureproof things by getting a new rig. Still if you insist, my advise is that you shouldn't patch your game to 1.0.7.0. 1.0.4.0 or 1.0.0.4 works well on low-end systems.
  15. Agreed. GTA4 is a CPU-bound game, so a weak processor will certainly bottleneck your GPU no matter how high-end it is.
  16. You need to upgrade your system, I'm afraid. CPU's a bit too weak and your system RAM's not enough.
  17. Exactly. I'd rather have it delayed than end up with some cliche annually-released FPS game. Let R* do their job, your patience will thank you.
  18. 'Tis such a sad loss for the music industry, as the lead vocalist for the Andrews Sisters passed away just recently: http://movies.yahoo.com/news/patty-andrews-andrews-sisters-dead-94-221121755.html
  19. Maybe the search is broken but I was not able to find any in depth tutorial here. I've found a tutorial on openiv thou, so that would do to start. Maybe I didn't explained myself very well....I do not own 3ds MAx, so I cannot use GIMS. I need to get the models in FBX or OBJ; that's why I was asking for help; hoping that there is another converter that works without 3dsmax, or that someone already has the assets exported and converted and would like to share them. From my understanding, GTA uses a proprietary file format, and Openiv does not export in anything like obj or fbx. Thanks! Well, there's little that I can do for that since I do not know of any other plugins for exporting and importing stuff that OpenIV can read.
  20. There are tutorials about that on GTAForums. As for the tools you need to use, it's OpenIV and the GIMS toolset for 3DS Max.
  21. Seems so. Games for Windows never really caught on if you ask me. Some of the other major franchises like The Elder Scrolls or Mafia made use of Steam for community features and copy protection.
  22. Madness, madness everywhere. As much as I would like to sympathise on the victims' families, I'm afraid this "game-burning" they did is ridiculous. Just as ridiculous as with the Salem witch-hunts and McCarteyism back in the 1940s. They delight on singling out the "new media" like games and stuff - what about "Ben 10" and all that shit if their logic follows? It's piss-poor parenting that accounts for nutjobs raining lead on innocent children. Problem is that parents too busy keeping up with the Joneses so much that their kids' welfare is overlooked, plus this sensationalised, fucked up media like Jersey Shore and this Honey Boo-Boo shit is adding up to it. Kids are so embroiled so much into this "swag" nonsense that their values aren't there anymore. /vent
  23. I don't get the point with registry cleaners, either. Bloatware on OEM systems are also the reason why I prefer to buy a store-bought PC that comes as a blank-slate for me to install things on.
