  1. Dissapointed by the reactions of people on the forums and news feeds. Can't say I'm suprised though. Take your time Rockstar and no need to apologize, the sense of entitlement by those so called "fans" will fade away eventually. Sucks we couldn't get the box art today, but at least there is a release date.

I take that back. Fans are understandably frustrated, but some comments are uncalled for. The proverbial "child in a candy store" is the case here. I will take a delay over rehashed annual releases anyday. By all means vent out your frustration, but Rockstar does not deserve the comments they are receiving.

This is great news imo, we finally have a concrete release date and Rockstar is making sure they will release the best possible version of the game. September 17 is all that should matter.

  2. Saw someone posting links to these, but didn't believe it. The second artwork was featured in the Game Informer cover story if I remember correctly, so imo I doubt that one would be one the cover. Nice colors on the first though.

Edit: Ok, so only the robber was in the magazine.

With Vice City coming to the PSN store on Tuesday, a Wednesday box art release is my guess.

  3. Anywho, I'm getting one, no doubt, but I just think a bit more exclusive art for these shirts would make them all the more desirable

Which one are you going to get. I might pick up the shirt with only the "V". I think Rockstar has been slipping slightly with their t shirts. I miss their older designs, for example here: http://www.coroflot.com/mikecala/branding. I spoke with R* on newswire, who said these were circa 2006. And as for the GTAV t shirts it would be cool to see a unique shirt for each of the three protags. I would also expect R* to have more shirts with their in-game brands or: I climbed up Mount Chilliad and all I got was this lousy shirt.

  4. Already have a Vice City poster on my wall. Its huge. Its really up in the air on which game is my favorite in the series. Right now I have San Andreas on my profile.

Both games had a great set of cast. I first saw Reynolds in Deliverance and later in Boogie Nights. At the time I hadn't realized at the time of playing III, Vice City and San Andreas just how great a cast of actors Rockstar had assembled. Some of favorites in the series: Chris Penn (Officer Pulaski), James Woods (Mike Toreno), Luis Guzman (Ricardo Diaz), and Ray Liotta of course.

I think I'm most looking forward to the trailer and the artwork.

  5. And that would cause animal rights "watchdogs" to go sour if that was the case.

True they got away with that in RDR because it was a true to the early 1900s. I'm holding onto some hope that we will see animals in the countryside that are interactible. Would you rather have animals in the game that you can't harm or no animals at all?

    Good ideas.

  6. What we really need is a ten page Game Informer cover on all the juicy details about the game. I think then people will truly be sastisfied. But these screenshots can allude to more things to come. I get really excited seeing that waterfall. Could we see water currents like in RDR?

  7. I don't have any particular ideas for the wanted system, but they need to make it more difficult to escape from the police. They can keep the current system as long as things get revamped. Its too easy to shake a helicopter in IV.

Also K9 dogs would be awesome as long are there are no annoying quick time events - I can see those getting bothersome for some people. In IV I think I only used the spray n' pay twice on my first playthrough! Smarter AI, better tactics to stop the player (road blocks, spike strips). I can see the terrain playing a large role in aiding your escape (or thrwarting - mountain impasses anyone?) , that is were the helicopter would come in making things more harder for us.
