  1. Not GTA V. GTA VI will definitely be on these next gen consoles though. I think GTA V has been too long in development for them to have had any time to dedicate to it. Also the original release date was long before the PS4 would have been out, and even the current release date is before the PS4, so no, we won't see GTA V on it. Just added more info to the original post for anyone who missed the conference stream.
  2. Well, it was announced a few hours ago. I'll add details on it later in this post. But what are your thoughts so far? The system itself wasn't actually show, although the controller was, a more refined version of the current DualShock 3 controller and with an added touchpad. Specs: 8GB of RAM - PS3 only had 512MB so although it sounds weak it's a pretty massive jump if you think about what devs will be able to do with it. Kotaku has a concise round-up of all the things announced in case you missed the conference stream. Personally, some of the stuff seemed gimmicky, other stuff seemed pretty cool. In terms of games, most I wasn't interested in, but Killzone 4 (I love that franchise) and WATCH_DOGS both looked awesome. Can't wait to see more of Watch Dogs actually. Also, Capcom's Deep Down looks pretty awesome, I thought the lighting, shadows, and reflections in particular looked very good. One thing I really did like was the suspend/resume feature. You can just power off the console while in a game and when you come back you power it back on and you're instantly back in the game again, no waiting for stuff to load, that's cool. Streaming games to the Vita seems cool although I don't have one. If they give that ability to phones and tablets that could be a BIG thing. All the social stuff I'm not that fussed about. Although the video streaming/sharing seems useful. Being able to let an online friend take control and help you in a game if you're stuck is a nifty little thing too.
  3. Never heard of that site before so I wouldn't use them as a source of information. The system requirements will just be their guesses, but as Tuner said they're going to be bullshit. The console release is 6 months away, PC release likely to be at least 12, it's too soon to even guess really. They're obviously going to be higher than GTA IV's though, and probably closer to Max Payne 3's. They don't list any cheat codes on their site so I'm not sure what you're asking about those, but it's pretty obvious R* will include cheats similar to those seen in IV. GTA would be weird without cheats.
  4. That's unfortunate, makes it much more difficult to figure out where the issue lies. So what happens if you try to change your profile pic? I presume you are trying to upload one. Does it just upload it and say it's saved, but not actually save it?
  5. There are no restrictions on your account so yes this is a bug. Are you getting any error messages when attempting to do any the actions you mentioned? And do you remember what your rep was before? Tuner, no one messed with your account. You were restricted for a period of time, and aside from changing your signature to a can of tuna, nothing was messed with. EDIT: amazingdude I can see you have 41 reputation point entries in the database so I'm not sure how you've ended up with it saying 0. I'll run the recaching and rebuilding tools in a bit and it should hopefully fix those issues. I'll look into the other issues after that's done. In the meantime if anyone else is having similar problems please post them here.
  6. Having games on Blu-ray isn't about graphics. The GPU determines how good the graphics can be. The point of Blu-ray media is that you can fit fucking massive amounts of data on them, 10 times more than a DVD anyway. This is why games like LA Noire and Max Payne 3 fit on a single disc for PS3 players, while Xbox 360 players have 2 or 3. That's the benefit of Blu-ray. The specs I was referring to was the things you mentioned (Blu-ray, Windows 8 OS, required internet) as those are still things that haven't been confirmed and was allegedly completely made up by the guy who "leaked" them... it's irrelevant anyway until MS/Sony actually release official specs.
  7. You might be right actually, Xbox has been stylised in quite a few different ways. It's all caps on the product itself, but seems to be Xbox on the website and in any official texts now. What's wrong with Blu-ray support though? It's pretty logical they'd support that as the physical media, since HDDVD is now defunct. I don't see how this is either a good or a bad point. It's just something they had to do really. You can't fit big games on DVDs any more. Required internet is stupid yes. Windows 8 style OS... not sure on that. If it's like the PC version then yeah bad move, if it's modified to suit gamepad/Kinect use then maybe that will be ok. BTW, the "leaked" 720 specs were supposedly part of an experiment into how gaming media reported stories without fact-checking anything, not sure if that was true or yet but if so we don't really know anything about it.
  8. Microsoft do make some incredibly bizarre decisions regarding their products. At the moment the trend is NOT to tell everyone about how awesome their products are, no, it's to attack their rivals. A move which is petty, and doesn't instill trust in potential users. Take Bing and Outlook for example: Bing - Google's results are irrelevant Outlook - Gmail spies on you all the time The article is a bit long but I do agree with some of the points he makes. Although the fact he consistently and incorrectly spelled Xbox as "xBox" was a little weird, especially as he claims to be one of the founders of the project, you'd think he'd know the proper trademark. Mind you he can't even capitalise 'I' most of the time so I guess writing isn't one of his strong points. Agree with him on all the UI issues. I've never really liked any iteration of the Dashboard from the original one to the current one. The current one does actually have a nice design but it is far too cluttered, and the fact it has ads on it sucks, especially if you are a Gold member. Being ad-free for Gold members should be touted as one of the reasons to get it. What he said about the indie gaming / money-making aspect of it was interesting... yes it's a bit of a dumb setup the way it is at the moment with it costing so much and having MS do no promotion whatsoever. But it's more than Sony and Nintendo do, who, as far as I know, don't even have anything similar, or if they do it must suffer from the exact same problems since I've never heard anything on it and as of late I use my PS3 more than I do my 360. He seems to feel very strongly about pushing it away from hardcore gamers - I suppose that's the way it's going anyway (Apple TV - if it will feature apps/games - will almost certainly only get casuals) but the console was originally primarily marketed as a games console, and I'm pretty sure a hefty amount of their revenue still comes from mainstream gamers. Anyway, his conclusion makes sense. They need someone, or a team of people, who understand what's needed for it to succeed. His "one living-room device" argument is still only relevant in the US though. NONE of the services that people would actually want and pay for (looking at you Netflix) are any good outside of the US, which such heavily reduced content availability it's just not worth the subscription fee. So I'd say the fault isn't 100% Microsoft's, but also in part everyone else involved.
  9. Can't wait. I love the F&F films. Over the top and unrealistic, but it's just pure fun really.
  10. The reaction is to be expected these days. That's unfortunately what the community has become. I'm actually more surprised (read: surprised, not angry) that they chose not to release the box art regardless of any delay. They were presumably ready for it at the start of the month, I don't see how any major component of it would change between now and then that they would have to delay that too. Seems quite strange to me.
  11. Rockstar have announced that GTA V has been delayed until 17th September 2013 in a newswire post today, allowing for "additional development time". Rockstar also issued a press release. As always you can share your thoughts in the forums. We're prepared for all your immature and irrationally angry comments. Remember it's a game guys. A game.
  12. As we reported last week, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is now available for download on the PlayStation Store, completing the GTA trilogy's availability on the platform. Released yesterday in North America and today across the rest of the globe, the game will set you back £7.99 ($9.99 / €9,99) with the download weighing in at around 3.5GB. Like Rockstar's other PS2 Classics releases, Vice City doesn't feature remastered HD graphics, trophies, or any other enhancements, but PS3 players who don't own a model supporting backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 titles will be grateful for this release. Rockstar have promised more of their classic titles will be released "very soon".
  13. I doubt anyone here is still active on GTAF.
  14. You don't need all of them sequentially. Just the latest one will do. Keep in mind you plan to mod the game, 1.0.4.0 is generally the latest that many mods support.
  15. A GTAForums member has spotted some new artwork for GTA V being displayed in a Gamestop store in the US. On one of the pieces of artwork you'll notice a helicopter in the top left, something that has become a tradition featuring on official box arts for the games. Rockstar did tell us we'd be seeing new artwork as well as the game's cover reveal later this month. Given that there are only 5 days left of this month chances are we'll be seeing those this week, could what you see below be part of what Rockstar was planning to show us? You can see a higher res version of the promo art on the left by clicking here.
  16. Everyone who uses it should have heard about it, they emailed everyone, plus it was pretty big news if you read any tech sites. But it's only the messenger service that's being shut down. And it's only due to the fact they own Skype now, so it's absolutely pointless running two systems, especially as Skype is far superior in every way. But yeah your email etc. will all continue to function as normal. Personally, everyone I actually care to talk to switched to Skype long ago, or I speak to on Facebook messenger, so the fact WLM is now merged with Skype makes barely any difference to me. As for GFWL I don't know, but they really should shut that piece of shit down. Or at least make it exactly the same as Xbox Live and fix it's more retarded 'features'. They are changing Xbox Live's communications service to Skype so I'm wondering if GFWL might eventually become like that.
  17. After a few months delay, Rockstar are finally bringing GTA: Vice City to PSN next week, in a move that will complete the availability of the trilogy for PS3 owners. Rockstar already released GTA III in September last year, and San Andreas more recently in December. Like the other two titles, Vice City is being released as a PS2 Classic, meaning it won't feature any remastered HD graphics, trophies, or any other enhancements. PS3 gamers looking to complete their GTA trilogy collection with Vice City can do so on Tuesday, January 29th in North America and Wednesday, January 30th in Europe, for $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99. According to Rockstar, we'll also be seeing more classic Rockstar games being released on PSN in the coming months.
  18. This Friday, 25th January, you can join Rockstar from 4-7PM GMT (11AM-2PM EST) and play in a variety of multiplayer modes from GTA IV, The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony, on all 3 platforms. For a chance at getting invited into a game you'll need to add one of the devs to your friends list. During this time, Rockstar will open the sweepstakes page where you'll have a chance to win a GTA V prize pack in the giveaway, which include t-shirts and stickers. For more information check the newswire article.
  19. Patrick Brown is back with another new artwork. This one shows off Franklin and Chop, as Patrick explains himself: If you're in the UK and are also one of the few people who still buys videogame magazines, look out for the next issue of Official PlayStation Magazine. If you're interested, they will be showcasing some of Patrick's artwork and have also interviewed him.
  20. Doar pentru romanii? Daca nu, post un traducere in engleza te rog. Multumesc. De fapt, ma rog, nu-mi pasa lol. If you're posting in a foreign language here you're supposed to post an English translation too so our staff know what's going on. But I get the impression you're only looking for Romanians for your server. Well, you're welcome to promote it here but I don't think we have many Romanians on the forums that are active.
  21. Judging by how Franklin is standing, he's probably just taken the gun out of it, so I'd say weapons, as opposed to a person. But who knows? Maybe both.
  22. Rockstar have updated the official website today with digital versions of all the artworks and screenshots released so far. Hidden away in the update was also a brand new screenshot which you can see below. Additionally we have added updated versions of screenshots we didn't have digitally or unwatermarked before. Rockstar also said that later this month the cover art will finally be revealed. Check out our full gallery of GTA V screenshots, as well as our artwork gallery. 23. It's been a while since we've had any GTA IV modding news to post about, but today, four years after the first public release, version 1.3 of popular modding tool OpenIV has been released. Links: OpenIV.com | Download
  24. For anyone looking to complete their GTA collection on Steam, the entire franchise currently has 75% off in the annual Winter Sale. 25. Rockstar have today uploaded more previously unreleased desktops and character artwork from Vice City, including the Crime Tree desktop (seen above) originally seen on the official Vice City website. Head on over to Rockstar's downloads page and grab these and more over at the Vice City collection of Wallpapers, Icons, and Avatars. Also, in case you missed it yesterday, Rockstar have made available official GTA V t-shirts which you can order from the Rockstar Warehouse, they are the GTAV Logo Tee or if you prefer, the V Logo Tee.
