  1. Seems the game wasn't tame enough for our fantastic rating system

As most of you may remember, back in December of last year The Office of Film and Literature Classification awarded GTAIV with an MA15+ rating. Well, according to Screen Play, Rockstar had to think of the kangaroos and edit Grand Theft Auto IV to get the MA15+ rating. What was cut exactly? Rockstar isn't telling. We're hoping it isn't something too big. Personally, I'm hoping it doesn't effect online play between Australia and the rest of the world as it would be a bad day for me to find out that I can't get killed by kill Jared and the rest of the staff living in Australia in an online match.

  2. IGN has posted an article covering NaturalMotion's Euphoria Technology and Grand Theft Auto IV. Here is a quick list of some of the amazing things Rockstar have implemented it in:

    * Niko's stance will adjust depending on the grade of ground he is standing on

    * Niko is also spatially aware of his environment (in layman's terms, he knows where walls and potential dangers are)

    * While standing on hills and mountains his knee's and feet will incline or decline on an angle

    * He walks with a noticeable counterbalance, keeping his center of gravity correct

    * When running at a fast speed he will be proactive in pushing open doors (because he is spatially aware of his surroundings, he will know the door is there and thus push it open without stopping)

    * When shot enough, enemies will fall backwards and slouch, trying to regain their last ounces of breath.

    * Car physics are sickenly realistic; rear-end another car and the people in the front seat will propel through the windscreen.

    * Same goes for side-on's, bailing from the car while in acceleration (similar to what you could do in Vice CIty onwards, only a little more realistic now)

    * When tackling walls, staircases or even just falling Niko's hands and feet are controlled automatically to ensure all his movements are realistic and play true

    * Niko will duck into a commando roll when he falls to far

    * Euphoria also controls how the new drunk feature works -- drunken, stumbling shamble, and camera blurs adding to the disorientation

    * When clinging to trucks (as seen in trailer #2) he will hold on more forcefully when the truck takes corners

    * Pedestrians are also proactive to weather formation and will change their actions (for example running) when it is going to begin to rain momentarily

Very impressive stuff, we're just itching to play this game just to see how the physics work. There is no doubt, this game is going to re-define gaming a second time for the franchise. Be it the game play that is being raved about of the physics that have never been attempted before, this is unmissable.

  3. Presently, there is absolutely no proof to suggest that this supposed story is anything but a complete work of fiction - especially considering that the apparent source of the article has been conveniently misplaced.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that any such move by Rockstar Games has the words ‘impending lawsuit’ stamped all over it. With the studio already saddled with the Hot Coffee debacle and no-end of persistent controversy regarding its Manhunt franchise, mapping the likeness of a presidential candidate onto the faces of GTA’s prostitutes could be considered an act of suicidal proportions.

    ...

Please remember that this isn't fact, but merely a rumor right now, Rockstar has not confirmed this yet.

Should i.... make it any bigger?

I doubt you read the whole article, neonfire.

Wow, talk about stuck up. I don't believe rumors are restricted from forum posts my good sir :).

Also, i is capitalized (thus, I) in the English language when placed singly.

Hard to say whether it is real or fake, it could affect there rating, but then again they've been doing inside jokes like this for years, so maybe not...

  4. I don't know how it works in other countries, but here ratings are a recommended guideline tool. For example MA15+ here means it is recommended to persons over 15+, if your not over 15 it is recommended you are accompanied by an adult or persons over 18. The only exclusions are X, XX and XXX (pornography). Same with all games and movie. When I was 10 I could see an M15+ or MA15+ movie if a parent was with me.

  5. The internet is flooded today with news of a second rating of Grand Theft Auto IV, this time by PEGI. The game received an 18+ rating, stating it contains Violence and Swearing. The rating records are not yet available on PEGI.info (the official website of the group) for an yet unknown reason However PlayStation's UK website contains the rating and information. ESRB and the BBFC are the next expected to rate the game, however with the current battles between the BBFC and Rockstar I wouldn't be expecting a terrific outcome.

  6. Nearly seems as if we are doing the same thing another site did, oh wait thats cause we are doing the same thing :D .

    Lame.

So what's your point? Things change, get over it. If you don't like the changes then put up a good argument or leave.

I wasn't unhappy about the fact there is changes going on, in fact it's not my problem, your choice. I don't have a problem with the changes or even changes in general, my problem was the way we mirror changes to follow trends of other sites rather then flying on our own. As I have said many times before, but of course, as if I would know anything right? Just seems silly to follow sites we are obviously more popular than...

  7. Oh? I wasn't told anything about that. I gave them full credit on my site for the original artwork. Was it the bulletin board one?

Yeah, they were leaked, well not leaked but released by accident before they were meant to be. So Rockstar have requested that sites like TheGTAPlace remove them. That's why the news item for them has disappeared off TGTAP forums and main site.

So yeah, I understand where you are coming from with the credit and all, it would be fine, but sadly due to the situation we can't have it posted because we want to respect the requests of R*. Once they are officially released though, feel free to re-add them :).

I'm sorry for the inconvenience mate, I really am, it was a terrific piece of work.
