  1. Made by Rockstar Games, they all appear to take some influence in the process, we'll see, but if Dan Houser's comment is correct, he joked about what's next, not knowing what it might be, suggests that GTA V will follow Max Payne's release. It's expected that there will be 3 trailers, much like last time, with one to follow before years end. I'm hoping not as long a wait as with GTA IV, that the game won't release in Oct 2012. We can hope they've disclosed it prior to any delays actually coming up, as they did with GTA IV, that this time, it is mostly done behind closed doors. Last time it was multiple reviews of various builds and features described never were finalized
  2. Steve Wozniak never gets the attention warranted him, but still, Steve Jobs loss is rightly mourned. He didn't know the tech, that was Wozniak, he did know the potential and he told the Industry and the Apple engineers what he foresaw, and eventually foreshadowed!
  3. Mark Zuckerberg did plenty of interviews, he's not trying to make Facebook a scam to users. More a boon to users, you can't expect advertisers to ignore the explosion it had. More on Facebook. The attack was claimed by Anonymous some time prior I believe, and luckily I wasn't harmed, and my PSN still seems as normal, but it had me worried. I used Twitter prior to FB and I used MySpace and still do about as frequently...which translates to hardly! FB is not that hard to use, Twitter is more complicated because not everyone uses hash marks and short hand. I don't understand the complex code formatting requirement. The interface of Facebook to Skype for example... Works easy me thinks. Glad this wasn't terribly wide spread, or everyone would have been effected
  4. I was thinking it was the PS3 version... Well, the map icons and graphics are too old school, harkening back to PS2 Era map, and not likely as such,. The other noted imperfection is the reverse dollar sigh, I could see it being done that way just for formatting of the counter, since CHANGE won't be important as a place marker
  5. According to rather good sources Ned Luke is the VOICE of the main character we presume. As far as Red Dead not being graphically superior?? Get your TV replaced, son! In HD 720 and 1080 it looks flippin' amazing!! The teams are sharing their input on the RAGE Euphoria engine because it pays to work on their games that way. Ever since the Midnight Club programmers' wives went to leak a story about the demands placed on workers, we've had ideas that the work load amongst Rockstar Games development staff is start / stop in nature, that they don't work on one item of business till it comes to fruition. I'd thought I mentioned this prior, If you keep up with the news reports on Rockstar and interviews... This report came out of the Rockstar San Diego camp, but there's proof that Rockstar Games Production credits are popping up ever more increasingly, suggests the shared development knowledge. As for detail, I refer mostly to the mountain scene for comparison to RDR, where you can obviously see leaves and bushes blowing around. In the City scene beneath the overpass, look at the ground, and notice bugs and/or debris that's moving, that's the added details we can expect
  6. There's new Megadeth. However, I'm not opposed to Lou Reed at all, The Velvet Underground for instance?? He's also covered by the famed Jane's Addiction, on their seminal first LP. As well as the Cowboy Junkies. I'm not a fan of them, but I checked out more of Reed after the Janes album blew me away, There's is better, so who's to say what to make of the Metallica connection, they got their start making covers their own, I might remind you... Diamond Head, Budgie?! Even King Diamond inspired the young Lars Ulrich As far as new tunes that bounce, Maybe you can relate to ADD by Loomis and the Lust?? Funny vid, short song...not too long... "Media" be the BB code, whole URL string... M'kay, now I remember... Johnny Van Zant's major RAGER hit before he fronted the reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd. The right man for the job I'm watching FREEBIRD on theCOOLtv as I add this post....
  7. Guns and Roses playing here, after seeing the YouTube Netcast from Rock in Rio, I'd like to see them, but I'm destitute without a job and any income. Anyone got free tickets?? We got news of BLACK SABBATH reunion finally on, New Album, New Tour, all happenin' next year. I also want to prod you people who like ROCK and METAL music, get to making some active topics around here, respond to the RATE A SONG thread, or provide musical inspiration for GTA games, like, oh.... ?I dunno... Five??
  8. What I'd like from you guys/gals, present what you prefer for a PC game playing with the keyboard and mouse defaults. Take a picture of your screen control layout panel, and present here, if you think it helps other players, I tried moving a few keys around, using a mouse for driving, Standard and Classic, defaults, but still a problem.... I just need my trusty PSX PS2 controller. USB for Xbox 360 controllers works well enough, though I only used it for GTA IV on PC thus far.
  9. Pointed out via YouTube, the main character's IMDB is now updated, but other then that, it's being presumed Young Maylay, aka Carl Johnson, maybe working on GTA V. The old guy, yep, now expected as the Protagonist played by Ned Luke. Maylay maybe writing for his character or doing voice for any future GTA as I see it. I've no problem playing as a middle age white guy, This game is not intended for play by pre-teens and Twenty somethings, More mature gamers due to graphic content. Obviously, I'm a mature gamer! I was playing games on systems in the 1970s! haha
  10. Avoid the spam, fellas... M'kay? Not needed ... My "contact" says he's heard it good from a friend of his, there will be no "Jumbo Jet", but there WILL be small planes, based on learning to fly, a more believable scenario in that regard then with San Andreas and Carl Johnson, where it's obvious that liberties were taken, and you subscribed to the age old "Suspension of Disbelief" required for unrealistic plot lines.
  11. This was a week ago, I don't think it's confirmed per se. I do believe rumors this will be bigger then GTA IV but it won't be the same map as SA, the PS2 map, but it will extend beyond GTA Los Santos locale, and it will include DLC with possible new cities. You have to remember, the time it's taken to make this game equates to more then what we've been shown so far. If you look at the characters interaction with ground they stand on, or the cars' contacts with the roadway, you see traditional GTA game flaws, It's not wholly improved from what's come before, and time spent on the game and AI are not all that connected. The RAGE and Euphoria are making marked improvement, but all of the various GTA facets have an input to the game's creation. So, I think this points to much more under the hood, so to speak
  12. In a mailing to Rockstar Leeds, I suggested a PSVita version of GTA 3 HD proper, rather then Liberty City on the main consoles, that way we can get the much needed facelift, without waiting for the Mod community to only half-address it, using the SA Rage mods, Still in beta, still very much work in progress
  13. I decided to email Rockstar Leeds from their own landing page, where they mention their latest or Current Project is Chinatown Wars for Nintendo DS, asking them if they are working on the PC version of GTA V, or what project for PSVita the studios might be involved in, Don't expect to hear back, but I hope to get a lead up from them! As for the map, GTA IV LC as NYC is a one off guys, you can pretty much bank on that, you forget about Midnight Club, and LA Noire, so GTA V will not recreate actual maps and locations but take off from where SA started
  14. I don't believe I can tell he sounds the same, but I was thinking of the actor from Con Air, ....something Meaney? I want to say "Colm?, Colin? I should know this... hahaha http://www.imdb.com/...69344/tt0118880 http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1740079360/nm0000538 Wow, I remembered! He'd be totally awesome in GTA!!! ^ How about that Buffalo Bill guy? Silence of the Lambs? Yeah, Ted Levine... http://www.imdb.com/...85984/nm0505971
  15. I'm replaying the 10 year old (birthday/anniversary) Grand Theft Auto 3, on my laptop with the keyboard! MAN, it's nearly impossible, and for GTA V, will feel like heaven! haha I assume because of the time they had between hardware and engines, they had to resort back to known maps, and there was still demand, even now, for SA and Vice City, however, Modders have been making San An on the RAGE engine, so if the map falls short, the cars are lacking?!? Just look for the PC Mod! Now, will they get the PC version of GTA 5 into players hands without a wait and more technical SNAFU??! That remains to be seen. I downloaded what I think is the Beta for San An on Rage HD, it was 1GB and took about an hour, I'll be seeing if it will run without the San An or GTA IV disc in my computer, that I worry about, along with the video card requirements, GTA IV refuses to run or install if the GFX card is lacking Vice followed 3 in about a year, and then San An took twice as long, if memory serves. That recreation is amazingly good, considering placing elements that didn't exist into the right spot for a direct comparison, took some work!
  16. For nearly a week, I waded through the GTAF V section of all the topics and queries, and I'm burned out, I can't even rehash them properly. I would say, it's likely to be a vast map, nearly as big as HALF of San Andreas based on what you can see in the trailer from one end to the other, in large scope scenes, like the one with the lone oil derrick on a hill, and judging from locations away from the City. However, closest to the Ocean, the Los Santos and Vinewood sections are most obvious from the first trailer, it still looks like some hybrid however, with some newly done geography, and despite that, much improved AI appears to be the biggest perk to GTA V The graphics are close to Red Dead Red, but they're still not quite there, to be honest, Rockstar San Diego's got a leg up on Aaron Garbut and his crew of artists.
  17. Take Two was basically not saying anything about GTA gaming because Strauss Zelnick does want the business end paying attention to their other game series, however, it's no doubt, the record breaking viewing for GTA V's premier trailer shows this game should sell again, like hot-cakes, with lines around the corner at Midnight if you can get it then at Gamestops! haha
  18. What is with derogatory name calling? "dumb bitch"? Please, try and find more suitable words, it just looks bad, really. As far as the actor, I wish they'd go with some bigger name talent, At least being in the USA, I still can't recall his name, and I don't normally watch cable, could be why. One problem I have is with choosing a voice actor who looks like an animated one, perhaps this is closer to the case if the same person is used for Motion capture (mocap) The other day, looked over the YouTube channel of the character actor playing Roman Bellic to hear his comments on the trailer, and a bit of Q and A in his comments, he said that there was a joke he made about not getting residuals, but that he was well paid for his role as Roman, Watching his channel, it's actually really hilarious to hear him speak anything with GTA IV's ROMAN voice, I can't get enough, silly stuff!
  19. If you believe the rumors purported from 4Chan, then yes, the honorable Chris Formage returns to guide you to enlightenment....of your wallet! hahahaha I think the humor regarding the infamous cult shall return.... Without need to petition
  20. I was thinking though, in lieu of another trailer, Study the Rockstar Game Midnight Club for ideas about RAGE evolving, The story should be like either of the three GTA IV stories Episodes and Niko and Roman Bellic, and then there's DLC for GTA V as well, I am hoping there's time for all that on this Generation. The improvements will be enough, really. Another thing is this puts some crimp in the idea of a PSVita version of San Andreas
  21. They did say the idea had merit, I'll say that. USA is a large place, and most corners could still be explored, I recently suggested that the maps being revisited could account for the time left to develop on the new er, old engine. RAGE / Euphoria. Before new hardware comes out, I think if it had not taken so long to get something to work with, the game development would proceed faster. What say you? New hardware in a year or two??
  22. My Mind is YOURS!!!

  23. I can never recall any time being at odds with Chris, Seems I was nearly the first to hear of his death, at least at GTAF, I noticed him online, and it turned out to be his brother who told me the sad details. At first, due to the common Mis-Information online, I could hardly believe that news, had passed it onto Waddy at GTAF. Soon after, we were lamenting not only the loss of Apple's Steve Jobs, but also Chris, who was unable to enjoy owning a car it appears, but he loved his auto racing games, hopefully they sated the urge. Sorry to lose a kind hearted GTA staffer, there are not many that I know.
  24. I replaced my PS2 with two used ones, about $10 bucks, and new PS2 games as well, for portable, PSVita is mostly effecting any library of the Infamous UMD Universal Media Device, which like Intel Extreme Graphics, is anything but what it says! hahahaha
  25. Try one HDD for a new install, one game, or all your games, UNMOD intent, then use the one with Mods when you prefer that route. The easiest solution to such a problem, and me thinks, Hard Disk Drives are not a costly option any more, unless you need P-ATA
