  1. GTA V Five The Fifth!??? Actually, if it's based partly in Miami again, and they are planning to look again at past locations, THEY should DISTANCE themselves from using any connections to San Andreas or Vice City, or Liberty City in regard to titles, but of course, as humor, references in the game is common practice in most all GTA games

    GTA 5?

Most think that the DeepThroatGTA4 publicized Genesis topic that is almost a joke of sorts, has no factual basis in the slightest, even I, being a long time member of that GTAforums, I don't put blind stock into what DeepThroat has said, didn't even follow him religiously, he's made one prediction pre-dating the release that was casting suspicion that he had some truth to his meandering stories. One tie in is that it was New York, where the Rockstar US offices reside, and that Sam Houser did come out in a few interviews saying New York was a city that was close to Rockstar's heart, and they planned to keep the USA in parody and satire, a subject of GTA games for some time. A few thought it'd bounce around the Globe as soon as the next iteration, that's not what Sam Houser was saying. One could say Genesis harkens itself to "The Beginning", and I can't say much about GTA original 2D since I came into the series with the 3D revolution and GTA III, and VCity. Genesis only provides evidence the OP uses from PRE-EXISTING content created by Rockstar, so if they are trying to say something about content Rockstar has yet to reveal, it's not going to be very evident. REPLYing to page 1; So GTA V will fall under GTA IV era? Well, yes basically, It sorts out as follows; GTA III is a PS2 title, but GTA 1, 2, and London came out on PC and the earliest platform consoles as well, it's only after MS put out Xbox that there was attention paid to what came out on what, could be classified by fans as part of a SET based on name, That's part of it, the other part is the ENGINE, and PSP and STORIES versions of Liberty City and Vice City do not include themselves, because Rockstar hired new staff to make those games on portables, not on standard consoles, for consoles, they were merely ported to them
  3. I ran into Executive Producer Leslie Benzies apparently on Facebook, and I am hesitant to mention it open in a gaming forum because, lets face it, people don't go to Facebook to discuss their work, it's for close friends and family. I use my real name there, for example, and I have family and close friends as well. However, I decided to tie in my Gamertag and use the feature on XBox Live as well. Just to say, don't expect Les to give you the GTA Five scoop, What I did offer IIRC, is that we had a new GTA fan website startup and on several occasions in the last year, thought of closing it down due to how hard it is with no GTA news, it's been rough. It's my hope if it is THE LES BENZIES, and I should think it is, he took a look when we gave him a heads up.
  4. GTA 5 for some reason, awaiting some leaked info

  5. Don't even hype up GTAForums elsewhere, because without making a case for how poorly they are moderated, and they certainly seem to be, since people pester other fans of GTA over there, without end, and it makes me sick, They institute a policy that claims you should not promote or talk of any other GTA site WHILE you are partaking at GTAForums, they wish to remain the undisputed king of online forums, that means don't dare to dispute that fact! haha I'm serious, but it is a joke! As for your Miami and HD based off San Andreas "engine", that doesn't sound like the truth. From what everyone's been expecting, Rage and Euphoria are not being forsaken so soon, but more a natural evolution of that invested software system used in Red Dead Redemption to great effect. Compare at 1080Progressive, both GTA IV and RDR to see what I am talking about. RAGE is the "next Gen" system Rockstar Advanced Gaming Engine. You know that Les Benzies was found on Facebook? He didn't return "my calls", he does not wish to use that for game chat, but more family contacts and privacy to the extent that Facebook has that, you know it's suspected
  6. One thing I've had to deal with lately is a proto-Netbook Dell needing a Wifi driver, and the computer with the driver has more bells and whistles and the Net connetion, now I have no router for this Netbook because my folks say NO WAY (It's theirs) and I can use their Wifi, and I have an Ethernet cable to connect two PCs or laptops, now I am no Networking whiz, but somehow I should be setting up a SHARED folder between the two, and leave the WWW disconnected to avoid any Malware chances. What steps should a layman follow in this regard, and once connected, how to find and move the files needed (Download folder I presume under the owner/My Documents)?
  7. I commented at length elsewhere, I came here because I was not given respect due, but one cannot argue, Steve Jobs' influence is profound, he was a seer of vision, a man who did not build the products of the future, but he certainly saw what the public didn't even know they wanted. Even though my sphere of influence was APPLE II in the schools, that came as early as 1978 for me, or 1979. I'm 45 this year, Jobs was 56, though born in 1955 Read Jim Carlton's book APPLE about their business side, then supplement what that book has with YouTube and articles online. I was a reader [Nibble and A+ Magazines, as well as Incider and other mags of the 1980s] and user of Apple till about 1989, the Apple II was pushed aside, as was Steve Wozniak, but the Macintosh did not save Apple, as the 1997 book Apple details, but sharing their innovations with PC users and then moving to other products saved Apple, and refusing a SUN Microsystems buy out offer. Recently Sun former owners tell the tale (online sources) and they say Apple would have been bought, but turned into what, God only knows!
  8. A Modding of the GTA PC variety? I don't do any mods, but alternatively, there are some databases to store program files, I believe used for such things
  9. I also own a Sony Vaio laptop, it's one from a pawn shop, with a 60GB PATA, so nothing so new, and it proved very problematic due to cooling it's larger Pentium 4, desktop CPU variety, the K23/25 model Vaio. Anywho, download Prevx CSI for your issues, it will allow you one free cleaning if infected and can search out ROOTKITS, also use Avira FREE version as well, Grisoft offers a free AVS version still. As far as freezing it, I wouldn't it's metal which can cause water issues and that leads to rust, once it thaws. Optical needs to be dry and dust free in my opin
  10. I am switching to a cell phone, but one unlikely to support games and such, any ideas from the Verizon store perhaps?? A phone for around $50?
  11. I just saw mention of half of that, is that all they planned? Either way, for GTA 3 buffs, a nice treat, but GTA 3 is fatally flawed basically, not the best GTA it could have been, but DMA to Rockstar North was in transition and the PS2 platform was not yet evolved, but I, like others, hope they could do something to remedy that, using the RAGE and Euphoria engine
  12. A laptop drive that is PATA or SATA? A good practice is called BACKUP of your DATA! hahaha If unable to boot, try a USB to HDD accessory, then make sure you use a booting, working drive to access it, in a daisy-chained manner, the same as any connected computer device, memory card or multiple array of Hard Disks inside a PC case. The laptop is 2.5, the standard is 3.5. Another method is to use the XP Repair if it's XP from Windows, fix the Master Boot Record, something like that, pressing F8, see if you can boot up in a SAFE mode, then run antivirus. It's best you have the AV ware installed already, if not, when connecting to a good working system (drive) move a program to root out Malware to that via the working computer platform
  13. Not really my kinda thing, I listen to game audio when I play the game, but go to original (or boot) sources for the music stuff. I put very few music tracks on my game systems as well, more room for video and game data. 5/10 I got some more ideas to keep this thread rolling along, so let's not wait another year to update!? Eh?? ORDOCFiI-Wg testing Been so long, don't recall the embed code... my bad. I got two killer songs, seeing which would work
  14. Should update this thread alone to include PA 3! hahaha

    GTA 5?

SV, This topic or question still comes up on the GTAnet site, though there's more a feeling something big with GTA will now involve some prior GTAs combined, or with new territory thrown in, I hope for that as well, it'd better appease fans of all the GTAs. I basically think GTA 5 would be the best MAIN title for it, regardless of the console generation, it's the MAIN game expected next, not any varient
  16. 2012 is still a valid prediction, this year, however, is not. Remember as a Next Gen game, GTA4 required about 4 years to build. Or was it nearly 5. I believe the majesty of Red Dead Redemption as a sequel also required building of the game since circa 2005. However, with RAGE and Euphoria well developed, the span of time is cut in half, one should think....and a larger staff on hand I think. I mention in another thread the easing of any more major DLC additions, the way Rockstar envisioned them, is a sign more effort is placed on a main game release, however, besides Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, there's talk of the new Nintendo replacement for Wii.... or more, and PSP's successor as well, NGP, whatchamacallit! hahaha I could look that up but I'm being extra lazy Grand Theft Auto Five. Now, anyone who followed the last two, Aaron Garbut who heads the graphic department was mentioned as designing a large GTA4 map including Up State New York, the Catskills IIRC, something Sam Houser said was very ambitious but they opted to scrap that and scale the game around LC or Faux-New York as we've come to know it. This time, though, location, characters, graphical qualities are not yet hinted at in still picture/teaser lead up...in the case of GTA 4, that was nearly one year before you stood in line to buy said game...so where is all this lead-up Promo now? We just don't have the same indications of a lead up for a release guess that we had prior
  17. It seems that THE THIRD will be a departure both from previous SR and GTA copy-cat status, we shall see, but I also think with the wait for new, full on Rockstar North GTA, till fall next year, or early 2013? That it will garner more attention from the GTA starved game-player, but my good buddy Mike lamented that no one is taking on copying GTA at it's core, proper. Which is a damn shame seeing how easily every other idea in the gaming universe is liberally stolen. It's clearly a case where more is a good thing for those who love this stuff and pay their cold hard cash for the pleasure?! Why are the studios not lining up to get that pie?!?!?!?
  18. Nah, not for me, I use the restore disk from my original computer, eMachine eTower came new with Windows ME, that's Millennium Edition and I suspected MS to embellish it for a year or so, but P4 came along, the 1GHz barrier was soon breached and USB2 came along as well, even Broadband ushered out the aging but still hyped K56 modems. So, at a time when Windows 9x was seeing needed changes for MM or MMX tech (known to users as MultiMedia), the OS most evolved and most flawed is the one bringing Movie Maker to users for the first time, WinME!
  19. Hopefully inspire you to check out what I listen to, my CD collection, actually got a CD on portable player going, I last played Ozzy's Ozzmosis album, and now U2's Rattle and Hum, picked up used, both CD and the video! A must for any U2 fan
  20. I'm an adult gamer, but along with that, I'm not like everyone else, and there's some pressure to fit into the mold society sets. This is more about how much you'd admit to being, a part of society, a responsible gamer, a pillar of the community? What say you? How do you see yourself? Are you just a gamer, a slacker, an outcast? Misunderstood but still in the right?? Just a bit O Confessional here. Though people always look to relate and fit in, being yourself often means you embrace things that are purely you.
  21. All ROCK music, though I think for GTA4, the choices settled upon were definitely uninspired. Though some artists I liked, the songs were not great. So kinda half and half. I like some juxtoposition within game play and music, and Rockstar wanted music to fit the place and setting, to start with as a focal point. Of course, V ROCK actually inspired from the REAL Z-ROCK radio.... which was syndicated in the USA
  22. In the USA, release around Christmas I heard, pre-orders can be done today to reserve one for something like 5 bucks down I heard?!? The name is now officially chosen, but I still remember NGP easier then the name they went with, since it again slipped my mind! hahaha PSP2 was too bland and unexciting ... The system is being high-lighted with portable Uncharted and I say, ship it with that game, it will sell like HOT CAKES!!! I am already wanting one, the price will be $250 without the Wifi G3 or G4 thingie. GPS?!? I forget, maybe it's Blue Tooth, but if you don't use it like a phone, you'll be good saving a buck! It should be much better then the previous PSP systems
  23. For me, GTA4 is great, add to that Episodes in and around Liberty City, but even more could have been done, as Sam Houser had suggested from the outset, but they found perhaps, they could not divide their attention and spread their own resources so thin. So that's likely why we're waiting for the next GTA, and no more DLC treats, they need the time and effort to build a new experience for the next outing, or they are looking at the new console options. However, I can surely see why and how Red Dead Redemption is better. First off is the graphical difference, makes a key point to making the story itself so enjoyable, also the three dimensional aspect when you take over control of your character, or Marston and your horse, cart, carriage. GTA4 has HD effects, but not near as many attributes. I look at it as much hope for even bigger games. As for my picks... Uncharted, GTA and RDR are the games that I use or play over and over, now I feel, the entire experience, the feel of being in a movie... that's Open World gaming plotting, on one hand, where you can explore this same world the story is set in, and that offers plenty to enjoy Heavy Rain was intentionally set apart from any prior game, but it's still a game, I've never played it, but expected it to offer something up similar to LA NOIRE. LA Noire didn't make the list, perhaps too late to rate? I think it should get kudos for it's approach new to gaming. RDR is better then the games coming after it, MASS EFFECT 2 got number one spot, for those too lazy to go through them. Even buying used games, I'm inclined to leave RPG and FPS behind. My first Next Gen game, for PS3 was a choice between Kane and Lynch or Uncharted and ultimately, I played Uncharted over and over and soaked it up, that truly is a tour de force for Naughty Dog
  24. I'd taken part in this same topic at our own forum, because of Rockstar's Bully game and the subject getting more attention in the press the past year, several people killed themselves because of intense acts of bullying. If that to you means it's just a right of passage, you are clearly not thinking straight. People all have the same feelings, in one form or another, the FEAR of acceptance within the school or any group of people persuades the BULLY mindset to show how inadequate someone else is to move the gaze away from that person, because as I see it, if this person is so good, so correct, such a perfect person they have no flaws, why on EARTH do they have a need to make others feel small?!? Ego? Is a need to see suffering to get off somehow?? Could be with those who are morally repugnant and have been De-Sensitized early on. As my mom specializes in Early Childhood Learning, and I'm a 40 year old who suffered at the hands of others, I feel there is some validity that this has been going on for years, but in recent decades, the widespread tech that never existed before raised the impact 10 fold. Remember most of what you put out online remains there, feelings will come and go so exercise caution before you lash out, there's really no need when it's a passing feeling
  25. I just popped in because the timing is right, perhaps, E3, speculation, LA Noire, Rockstar sitting on any progress their making, cards held tightly to their chests. WHADDUP!? I am selling my car, and because I rounded up photos, it's now in my Avatar/profile. Rare droptop GM convertible Firebird Formula 350, the TPI 350 small block V8 With repairs on various components, I couldn't deal with any new sheetmetal or cloth seats that it needs, but a rust free DONOR car to me, seems the way to go, with a welder and cutting tools, move the ASC convertible parts to a nice 350 TPI 1989 Firebird. I kid you not, Mine was bought from a lady in Minneapolis, but already it was a former Theft Recovery with new VIN issued in the state of PA, USA. It's just got things I can't afford to fix, but the weather finally allowed me to drop the top on it again!!
