  1. So so sad to hear of another fallen soldier of Metal, drummer of the seminal MOTORHEAD....

    Filthy Phil Taylor.....

    http://www.extremethedojo.com/news/data/upfile/539-1.jpg

A true Heavy Metal Legend, man, no one can fill Filthy's shoes. He will be missed for sure!!

Lemmy's still with us, but earlier lost his good friend and band mate Wurzel.

  2. I was afraid of the push to new consoles for this game and all others to follow, hastens the demise of the current consoles everyone has access to, the brightside is the PC first time and double dippers, or in my case, trying to get every format in most cases, and fewer games overall, just the best titles for the medium.

It's inevitable that I and others will gravitate to the new consoles, but the next GTA is rather far off it appears, likely 2 years down the line from now. Just how much incentive DLC and ONLINE only will hold over GTA5 players already versed in the universe.... I am always of the mindset single player offline falls flat still, at this point and the main incentive of online anygame is the interaction with other real players, content not so much

  3. October 21st, 2015.....

Back to the Future came about this past week, and much humor was gleaned as a result, and I loved it! I feel along with Indiana Jones and Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, you cannot deny the iconic culture status that Bob Zemekis' and Bob Gale's genius for Hollywood movie making, not only that but have to include Jurassic Park and even The Terminator into movie series beloved World wide.

In case you blinked though, you might have missed it....

radio here in USA, Minnesota, a lot of stations touched on the subject.

In the odd real person comedy A Million ways to Die in the West with Seth McFarlane playing the rare comedic lead, he walks through the Western setting town at night when he happens on a barn lit up at night, in it is Doc Emmett Brown and the iconic (one of them, anyway) DeLorean covered in a tarp while hiding the time machine, it's a great comic tie in to be honest, but just happened to be airing on HBO the past month or so, while the reprized characters included Michael J. Fox on Jimmy Kimmel to close out the historic day, if you missed it, hopefully it's airing on streaming media for you to catch again,,, going 'back in time'! hahaha

  4. You simply won't be able to mod special use vehicles, and the mods have and will likely remain severely limited because of the vast coding already required for GTA as a complete sandbox game, the mods are limited now, make no mistake. You typically only have two custom options per item!!

  5. According to Wikipedia there was supposed to be a crazy homeless person Claude worked for, who ran a cult or something like that, and you got missions from him in that tunnel.

However, the last mission for him was flying the modified Dodo into Donald Love's building (hence his disappearance allegedly), but after 9/11 Rockstar took all that guys missions out, but his followers stayed in the tunnel.

    Wikipedia

Taking us back quite aways aren't ya? To address this, my question is this the Darko or whomever I remember being the key character removed? Since what I remember there was traces of programmed content within the game that was discovered by the clever hackers...er, modders!??!

  6.

and mostly, how do they compete with Halo and Call of Duty to sweep the all time sales and record books!!!!!

How about they don't try to compete with them? Sort of like how humans don't compete with slugs.

What I mean is for all time sales leader, not the best AI or best graphics, or even fun factor, which are all important, mind you.

As far as setting the game, it's evolving content status we've seen actually compliments changing topics as far as radio audio additions, where parody or satire is key for the underpinnings of GTA

  7. Your thoughts on the current migration crisis, and in the USA, debates that are very heated also concerning immigration reform.

What does the future hold for you and your families....?? A lot of young people are gaming types, but you don't like to spend a lot of time with real world frustrations, I know myself, I used to HATE politics with a passion, but during the current election Stateside, it's been the most interesting race for the 2016 Presidency in our lifetime in fact!!

Since the Syria and surrounding crisis does appear related to ISIS / ISIL, what are your thoughts on that front? I can see regular folk wishing to escape any and all conflict, but the war against them must be fought, and Russia's hand is not all that appreciated, and how to deal with military threats in Korea, China, and Russia, Syria, the Middle East.... looking for your input, and feelings on the matter, if they change at all, post here why they have

  8. I was set to make a new topic, but this is still at the top, and always on my mind while I play GTAs, what is Rockstar planning as far as moving locations, the mech of the game changing, and mostly, how do they compete with Halo and Call of Duty to sweep the all time sales and record books!!!!!

Here's a site promising updates even, and it does detail....scrolling down, the process of game building Rockstar still seem to use, as it allows the map and story to congeal into a workable test and game 'gone Gold' IIRC, production ready for millions of fans and users to enter.....

  9. Ok, not really GFX orientated but I did take commercial art after High School, I'm wondering why there's such a public presence of Instagram? Could it be tie ins to other large Social Media sites?

One reason I'm asking is I basically didn't join sites just because of popularity but AOL initially based on the large celebrity presence, I thought that pretty interesting and never lost favor with their email client.

When I heard there was Malware threat effecting the site, I opted to stay away, obviously with the continued popularity, it's assumedly safe, what's your thinking about the site, safety in use and how convenient it actually is?

  10. I don't really concentrate too hard on which song is playing because I know they'll cycle over at some point, but often when radio in-game listening, I'll be enjoying a favorite on one station genre, and switching to another soon after, I find I missed the one I like because they seem to counter each other (same cycle time frame) damn the luck! hahaha

  11. $300 dollars for a large tablet to haul around instead of a laptop is why.... but you'd have to spend more on a gaming laptop obviously... the question is what hardware and OS spec is really a good one for a game like GTA where Rockstar's games have a hard time running on hardware and or OS where somethings amiss, Also, I'm not here to extol the virtue of all handhelds, that's not the intent of this topic, what I'm interested in is knowing the cut off, what side I maybe on.

Right now the phone I have, the M840 ...just double-checked... (Prevail II falls into the model range when Googled, late or mid 2013 vintage) can be an effective gaming phone.

Remember, the game itself was intended from the start to cater to the Nintendo DS exclusively, whereas a game for PS Vita would be much much, MUCH better!!!

Here's the phone I got upgrading my previous NON-Smartphone....

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/boost-mobile-samsung-galaxy-prevail-2-no-contract-cell-phone-white/8918214.p?id=1218946988342&skuId=8918214

  12. On Decades TV (CBS over the air digital SD) Their hour long weekday retrospective touched on the coin op arcade one day last month, among a number of tech reports coinciding with history, that report marked the end of popularity for the coin up (quarters, anyone) era in gaming, to which you may think where have they gone?? Well, rec rooms for one thing, and amusement arcades do still exist in limited number. If you reside outside of the USA, please comment on your local area's arcade presence, it'd be interesting to note.

The reason I bring it to mind is that the coin op is the original ROLLS ROYCE method of gaming, all home attempts from the 70s to the 1990s were living in their mighty shadow, but the allure for home gaming was destined to move the popularity elsewhere. There will NEVER be a substitute for the premium gaming experience, or other

  13. Taking this outside the realm of the gaming forum because I have a particular line of inquiry about Smartphone, or iPhone use of a game designed for Nintendo DS in particular and firstly brought to the PSP.

The idea of a touchscreen does translate to the game I believe, though I never got to owning one.... Now armed with a Smartphone from Samsung (their venerable Galaxy series) Being a bottom end phone however, sold on eBay working for only $30 bucks, it's actually a way that the hardware and game cost you hardly anything compared to other game systems.

The problem is my specs appear right on the threshold of what's required for a game like GTA, even a basic translation like CTW

It uses Qualcomm's dual core processor known as Snapdragon, and the Android OS Jellybean, which is just on the verge of Google listed OS revisions I believe, and a low memory onboard of 2-4GB of RAM, while allowing miniSD cards, the gaming aspect is likely to require the internal RAM for quick processing in default install operation.

So, anyone go with the phone version and can offer their insights and findings? Do so here, and we'll hopefully get the info for future reference

  14. Misleading most everyone is memory spec, it's not merely enough to have gobs of memory installed, something else can be your system bottleneck, and I think it's your spec for Core i5 being a low voltage Netbook or Ultrabook version [u designation for Intel is NEVER used for fast clocking or unlocked central processors]

Also Windows 10 is seen as a better evolution of Windows thus far, but for all the machines it can run on, it's pretty early to know how and which games will run best, your GPU must be of high standard for all Rockstar games, though processing chores can fall on either side at times.

Also within Windows is virtual memory management and USB turboboost memory add ins, and HDD temp use as storage while the system is 'crunching data'

  15. I understand not everyone is privy to how up to date a forum or within....threads are being preserved, or too busy to take the time, but imagine a school or library not taking the time to update accuracy of it's information database, besides looking bad, and unprofessional, it serves as unjustly informing it's user base' and anyone hoping to be well informed, which is the heart of the Web, interconnected computers not only for interchange as telecommunication but archival information on all the World's topics, and believe you me, it's the number one go-to source, so it should be maintained in that manner, as best as possible.

Take the time, someone...being the goal of a good Webmaster

In regard to the cop cars, I'm not drawing a comparison there, I'm saying keep in mind what we do know about Rockstar's rather secretive game design and build steps, and what drives that and the results based on that workload direction and design.

For example, if you go in to work at Rockstar building that dream game, your favorite idea maybe shot down in a meeting with the producers, Sam Houser made his own clear examples in previous magazine interviews [if not online]

In his prime case he had suggested filling car tanks with petrol that would run low with the car in use.

He was shot down by overwhelming vote or something like that.

That idea might still come to pass in the evolution of GTA...but is not seen as an important one, for me, more interiors, caves, and underground locations or similar make the non mission aspect of GTA that much more fun...and need immediate address STILL

As far as cop car design, one fact we do know is the color and any NYPD similarity was changed in light of the events of 9/11/01

That's rather well known in GTA-lore, and the series started as Race N' Chase ... with a simple cops and robbers theme, you as the good guy was changed to an anti-hero criminal on the rise... and thusly the infamous GTA was born!  Also key to the game is the late 90s turn to Sam and Dan Houser... DMA leading GTA would def have a different outcome in the game we know today

  16. In regard to the above, I just got a Smartphone in hopes of a more affordable plan or to do with the support program I'm on.... the quote-unquote OBAMAPHONE  ... Samsung Prevail 2 using Jellybean OS Android, my main use has been based on PC to miniSD card types of data presently offline, and portable aka mobile

I only once so far got on a WiFi Hotspot to do updates, but that worked, so once I feel safe about logging into a mobile device wireless, I'd be more inclined to do so, but the Smartphone, even with 2 to 4 core processing, will never eclipse laptop or PC use for power with little compromise, most people now embrace the smallscreen, all my life, been trying to get away from it!!

On topic note though, I'm interested in what my Prevail2 [Ring] model with Snapdragon Qualcomm processor and Jellybean 4.2 can do.... if I remember the stats right.

  17. Image hosting needs updating if a posting forum article does rely rather heavily upon them, most Webmasters and participants need to keep that in mind, since it can wreaK HAVOK on an active site, me thinks

I got online in 2001 or thereabouts, and I WAS LATE getting connected! WOW, 2006, the birth of dual core processing, basically

  18. I'm going to add this find with some additional info, forgive my appending double post, hopefully, as always, not offending.....

This death is tragic, despite some mean comments posted before he died here, one person thinks it's a number of health issues and not just drinking, but could certainly have given him liver disease.

One site reports he was in the care of a doctor at the time of his passing....

  19. Passed away on Sunday, details not mentioned at the time, but it looks like from videos over a year ago, posted on YouTube, he was in poor health from the thin guy we knew in the band of the 80s, but still performing REO hits as noted in those videos you can find there. I believe part of the problem was just obesity <sp?> ...which is considered something of an epidemic in the USA, he seemed in worse shape then Foreigner's Lou Gramm, who was also close to death at one point, but still with us!

  20. Ok, we know 2015 and 2016 are not likely to spawn a new Rockstar GTA, but perhaps by next year's end, some info about the next game will come to fore.... Let's take wagers on when that actual release date or first trailer for GTA NEXT might be!!

  21. For the record, my first job was delivering papers in my neighborhood...yes, the tried and true paperboy route... This in the late 70s or early 80s. By 84 I was working for the 'Tree Trust' that's still around in some form or other, I worked doing labor around the local ice arena

  22. Let me add a thought I had watching a porn star in a music video, one reason I admire Traci Lords... aka Norma Kudsma, IIRC, she got into the adult film industry at a rather siminal time and caused a major problem for that Industry, but leaving that and going legit is something VERY few have done, and I have to say, I have respect for her as a woman to be able to overcome such overwhelming odds to stay true to your vision of success, and not let others drag you down. Since she lied to get into adult and also caused major problems for the adult industry, there was a rumor that a death threat existed against her at one point (I think this was a Penthouse story I read) but despite all that, she's still in Entertainment today and one of the most known woman in adult film history! Kudos! haha

  23. When your old, trusty Image host ain't workin' no more, it's time to update... I hate that ppl are so lax they don't keep up with the changing, fluid state of the Interwebs, just makes the thread look bad!

The cop car idea would never fly, the main issue Rockstar STILL face is based on building a map for the game, then placing the story into that map, it never fails to fall short of using the map fully, even with online additions, and some of that is now aiding single player, but GTA 6 should not revisit old map ideas, but still use the USA, I say up near Canada with more snow elements! Great Lakes region for bordering

  24. I might need to use ALL my Xmas money for the PS4, and this Uncharted might break some new records for picking up Sony's sales, and with over a year and no major migration away from 10 year old consoles that I know of.... The time transitioning from PS2 to 3 and Xbox360 High Definition era coincided with a few major paradigm shift factors and that was the future of digital AV television in our homes!

  25. Of course if you've used YouTube you know it started modestly then Google took over HALF the Internet and as such, messed around with YouTube as well, with Google+ posting updating trying to get people away from Facebook I imagine.

Well, I found out with two video uploads most recently that I got a warning about the last one violating a user's rights to the content. From what I recall of the full clip, it was made with camcorder at the TV showing the music streaming service of my own cable, and was between song selections, but irregardless. I got a strike, warning, probation for 6 months or so, and a 'Copyright violation school' course True or False cartoon

There's a joke posting about this cartoon as well, I noted after the fact. The first time I used YouTube it was with my original account, I re-registered because it was more or less trial and error. I got a second chance with eBay as well, and that's almost required in my case, I catch on slow since it's not entirely obvious why things might be in violation.

Because YouTube-Google had to relent to a mass of public music and video uploads, as fitting with the format. Plenty of people overwhelmed however many rights police are on hand and some have figured ways to sidestep the software, like pitch adjustments during uploads.

I ask you though.... Why is it they come down on ME for this latest video in which I clearly filmed with a camera and talked narrative over the music which was already fading out and transitioning between programmed songs... The idea I followed was that of instructional and informative video, not plainly sharing a video or audio clip from some consumer product. I like to explain findings of mine, in my videos, and I just consider them vBlogs, or Video Blogging for those unaware of the term.

I don't know how I got singled out this time with all the other full album and movie uploads still on YouTube, BUT it makes me worry that if you find something still on YT you want to see or hear, better NOT wait to do so, it may come down at ANY time, so it would seem!

Oh, and after completing 'Copyright School' I sent a posted comment with a clipboarded screen image (as is allowed within the YT pages) to notify YouTube of my intention with the clip, but I do confess using the uploader, I may have forgot Copyright Reserved wording and disclaimers I assumed are mostly automatically generated
