  1. A petition has been created online by Grand Theft Auto fans who really want Rockstar Games to make a PC version of GTA V. Today, the Change.org petition for GTA V to be released for the PC has surpassed its initial goal of 100,000 supporters. Due to reaching this goal in such a quick pace, the creators of this petition have now moved on to a greater goal. As can be seen on the official listing for the GTA V petition, the goal is now set at 150,000 supporters. Currently, there are a total of approximately 116,434 supporters for this petition.

We have signed the petition ourselves but in my opinion Rockstar Games may not take any notice of petitions, but yet again they might since they are only one of a few gaming companies that actually listen and take feedback from their fans.

Also in other news, gamers are set to delve into the Grand Theft Auto V universe through their Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems, but how big of a universe is it?

There are no real figures yet, but considering the size of GTA IV which is around 10 to 15 GB, the blockbuster-bound GTA V surely to surpass that by leaps and bounds. Our idea of Grand Theft Auto V being fitted to 60 GB game surely won’t surprise a lot of people.

Previous Rockstar Games titles such as L.A. Noire used to be a six-disc Xbox 360 game until it took them “a lot of effort to get down to three discs” which you can see now on retail stores. The factors that contribute to the size of the game mainly derived from the detail they put on the map as well as the character’s performances. Also with the map size, you will be playing in an area that is bigger than GTA IV, San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption, so imagine the size of the game if it does get released onto PC, it'll be like the size of the three games combined.

  2. If you believe that it is only Rockstar and those behind Grand Theft Auto 5 that are in the know, you couldn’t be more misinformed, which has been revealed directly on Twitter after one magazine editor pointed out he’s on lockdown when it comes to revealing news about the upcoming game and its release date, or in fact any GTA V details.

Nearly two days ago we posted some details about an executive editor at a popular gaming magazine tweeting hints towards an upcoming cover, which would obviously feature GTA V and more news about the game. This is something most gamers are desperate for and also Rockstar promised further news within a few weeks of the recent screenshots, so this cover could be part of that GTA V reveal.

Within the last 24 hours the editor in question, Andrew Reiner, returned to Twitter after being privileged with information from the GTA V demo and of course exclusive details we’d all love to know. Eager gamers grilled him for details and any news relating to the next Grand Theft Auto game, but he stayed quiet thanks to an obvious NDA. Reiner broke silence to point out some fake claims online in regard to the GTA V release date being revealed in the December magazine, which appeared in the official newswire comments as seen in the image below.

It is worth pointing out that it seems that Reiner wasn’t even at the GTA V demo, as when one Twitter user said “you wasn’t even there“, he replied “correct” and continued by explaining he had been in Minnesota at the time, but is obviously privileged to the information from work colleagues. Other users asked if he can reveal any news about GTA V or will it all be held back until the magazine cover, which Reiner replied “I’m on lockdown“. He also noted that he hopes to say something in the near future, but this seems to be out of his hands currently. You can see that tweet below.

Will you purchase Game Informer for the GTA V news exclusive? The good news is that we’re sure to get some solid details soon, although we can’t help but be a little jealous that others know so much more than we do about the game, although it will be well worth waiting for when GTA V finally sees a release date early next year. How excited are you right now?

Almost 10 years ago, Rockstar Games released a brand new game to the GTA series, Vice City. It was released for the Playstation 2 and Original Xbox on October 29th. And with it almost being 10 years already will we being a release of Vice City for the iOS and Android devices? Maybe.

We haven’t heard anything from Rockstar Games about this, but we think it will be a good idea, especially if they’ve released GTA III for the iOS and Android platform.

Do you think we’ll see a release for the two platforms?

  4. Yeh alot of people have either gone to Uni or left and doing full time jobs, which will obviously take up most of their time. I've been part of this forum since 2006 and also with GTAF, but I have to say, I prefer TGTAP.

Even tho no one can really talk about GTA much at the moment due to lack of news, but there are different sections to this forum, such as the General Discussions section, but I don't think alot of people can be bothered at this minute.

Myself, I find it hard juggling work and being more social on the net, because I know my presence here has dropped quite abit due to work and being a new dad :D I've started my own forums on my Rockstar Games site, which I'm hoping it will get more people in soon. (Don't worry Chris, I'm not advertising my site ;) ).

I will be making more time to be more social on these forums soon enough, especially when I got some spare time, like this very moment :D

It will pick up again, soon enough, especially with more news from Rockstar concerning GTA V.

  5. Old news! Btw these type of sites were active since the very first trailer that was sooooooo.....ten months ago.

Anyways, since Rockstar already have said and i quote "If you didn't hear it from here( http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire ) it is obviously fake."

I know but people still need to be aware, even if the sites have been around for months. And it's always good to still warm people, because some people out there don't even consider the risks.

  6. Hi everyone, haven't posted anything on here for a good while lol. Now back to what I'm trying to say. This has most properbly been posted before, but just trying to keep people aware out there.

It came to my attention while browsing some Facebook pages, I came across 2 links to websites that are apparently offering, Grand Theft Auto V beta keys. Sites like this should be avoided and reported to the publisher of the said video game, in this case, it’s Rockstar Games. I have reported the sites to Rockstar so it’s only a matter of time before these sites will be taken down.

You should always be aware that no publlisher would offer beta keys to the public to test, some do I know, but only via their own official website, Social Networks or through Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.

Here are some guidelines you should follow, so you can keep browsing the web safely:

    • Do not enter your email address otherwise you may encounter alot of spam coming your way
    • Do not ‘Like’ them via Facebook otherwise this may cause some privacy concerns for you
    • Do not download anything from the sites, unless you want your computer to be invested with viruses and malicious software.

Any legitimate Rockstar or GTA fansites will NEVER link to such things, unless it was released by Rockstar. (Which will never happen).

Therefore keep away from any such sites and report them.

Also on another topic, there is a Facebook page for 'GTA V' but they are trying to pretend to be Rockstar Games themselves and have been linking to the sites mentioned above. But people need to be on alert of such things, especially in this day of age. So keep surfing safe, and if it sounds too good to be true, it properbly is.

  7. It looks like it's just your graphics card having trouble loading everything. Does this happen all of the time?

That used to happen to me all the time, but only the roads textures not loading up fast enough. But the wall problem you got I'm not too sure about, the best thing to do, is back up your save game and do a fresh install of Vice City.

    Good luck.

  8. They're just porting it. I wouldn't start a game from scratch just to change its platform.

Na its not just a port, its a revamp I read somewhere its going to be a open sandbox environment like LCS and VCS was. So fingers crossed it will. With new soundtracks and apparently its got voice actors on it aswell so not exactly like the DS version.

  9. Rockstar Games have announced via their Twitter that the PSP version of Chinatown Wars will be released both on UMD and digital download from the PlayStation Store.

It was also said that the "first screens and more" are coming soon. Keep an eye out for more updates.

Just to let you know Chris that thay have just announced that the European version is being released on October 23rd.

  10. Chris, Iv'e gotta tell you that the download size for the 'TLaD' is not 994 MB its actually 1.78GB, because Im currently downloading it from the marketplace now.

Plus if it hasn't arrived on MP with you yet, go to Xbox.com then the marketplace and download from there its the easiest and fastest way to get it first.

  11. Hidden at the end of a press release for Microsoft's impressive holiday line-up is word that there'll be news on the GTA IV DLC this autumn. That's 'news' and not a release date.

Whether that means we can expect a release around then or later in the year (dare we mention '09?) we still don't know.

Microsoft says: "In autumn there will be news from Liberty City; the first episodes of GTA IV will be available for download exclusively on Xbox Live, underlining Xbox 360's leadership role in the field of digital entertainment."

Make of that what you will.

Not sure what to make of this. Bullshit radar says "proof of nothing" because there's no reason for tech support to be looped in on a game in development. That said, two guys worked up an extremely patient, social engineering prank that had 2K Games support believing, or at least suspicious of the possibility of a hacked Grand Theft Auto IV demo on pirate sites. And in the back-and-forth, it turned up this reply from tech support:

"The PC version of GTA IV has not even been announced for release and is still in development so is not about to be released on a website."

The entire conversation is very long and almost takes on the scope of a 419 baiter thread. But they do provide screenshots (granted, those can be faked too.)

Basically, these two guys concoct a detailed tech support problem with a free demo of Grand Theft Auto IV, and see if Take 2 will bite. Of course, they do, but only to a point. After getting that little nugget above which they're convinced was copypasted from some higher-up's response to befuddled tech support they get another tech who is less fun and a little more circumspect about their claims.

While the last message does say, "We are unsure when the PC version of the game will be released," that does not mean, "We are sure it will be coming out, just not when." I am likewise unsure of when I'll win the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes.

ComputerandVideoGames.net reported rumors back in April that a PC GTA IV was due out in October, citing European retailers. That didn't bring a denial from Rockstar UK, just "no comment." So unless and until Rockstar wants to lay the rumor smash, this remains rumor only. I wouldn't get my hopes up, but you never know.

  13. Welcome to the forums Little Jacob, you ask if this is rare. Well in fact this car isn't rare I steal this vehicle all the time, but I have noticed some of them are more tuned than the other sentinels. So this could mean that theres 2 make of cars in the game the normal sentinel and the sentinel STD.

But if other people have their opinions then lets hear it incase im wrong lol :D

  14. In his often heated communiqués to the press, ardent anti-game activist John B. "Jack" Thompson often uses fiery religious rhetoric to portray the perceived righteousness of his cause. Today, however, the Miami area attorney is likely looking for some divine intervention on his own behalf, after a Florida judge recommended he be permanently banned from practicing law in the state.

In a 169-page ruling issued today, Judge Dava Tunis said she felt that the Florida Bar's recommendation that Thompson be forbidden to practice law in the state for 10 years was too lenient. Citing a 1996 precedent, she said that first, any "judgment must be fair to society, both in terms of protecting the public from unethical conduct and at the same time not denying the public the services of a qualified lawyer as a result of undue harshness in imposing penalty. Second, the judgment must be... sufficient to punish a breach of ethics and at the same time encourage reformation and rehabilitation. Third, the judgment must be severe enough to deter others who might be prone or tempted to become involved in like violations."

Citing these three guidelines, Tunis recommended a penalty of "permanent disbarment" for Thompson "with no leave to reapply for admission." She also ordered him to pay the court $43,675 in "disciplinary costs," including $23,538 to pay for transcripts used to outline 27 violations of five Florida bar rules.

"Respondent [Thompson] was found guilty of three violations of rule 4-8.4© for engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation," said Judge Tunis in her ruling. "Respondent was also found guilty of making false statements (two violations of 4-3.3(a)(1) and two violations of 4-8.2(a)). Further, he has repeatedly indicated, verbally and in writing, that his conduct is justified to promote and champion his personally engendered moral values and causes."

"The Bar has clearly shown the Respondent's continuing pattern of misconduct as alleged in the Bar's complaint," Tunis continued. "He has indicated his intent to continue to engage in the misconduct and his conduct before this Court during the almost 18 months of litigation, has clearly corroborated that as fact." As evidence, she pointed to two orders by the Supreme Court of Florida earlier this year which "abused the legal system by submitting numerous, frivolous and inappropriate filings."

In a statement sent out to the press today, Thompson repeated his assertions that Tunis has no jurisdiction because her loyalty oath is, according to him, forged. Last month, he repeated his accusation before abruptly walking out of a hearing in Tunis' court.
