  1. It was recently revealed that GTA IV will be censored for it's Australian release in order to comply with the OFLC rating system. As a result many Australian consumers placed pre-orders with New Zealand retailers, hoping to get an un-censored version of the game.

    However this morning Gameplanet.co.nz sent out the following email confirming that the New Zealand release will also be edited;

    Hi xxxx,

We have been informed today that New Zealand will be receiving the same version of Grand Theft Auto IV as Australia.

As you have placed your order after Rockstar announced that the Australian version was edited, we are assuming that you will no longer require the game to be shipped from us, as we can't supply you with an uncut version.

The last thing we want to do is supply you with a product that does not meet your needs and we've therefore taken the liberty of removing your GTA4 order from our web site.

We certainly hope we can be more helpful to you in the future!

    Kind Regards,

    xxxx

Australians will now have to import from Europe if they want to obtain an uncensored PAL version of GTA IV. Rockstar is yet to comment on what has been removed from the local PAL release, leaving many gamers quite frustrated.

  2. Currys do create they're own boxes untill its released, so that could be a fake, plus theres no confirmation that Six Axis is enabled for GTA IV. So this in my opinion is not the real thing but a good dam find.

But I will go to some game shops to see if there is a 360 version like Currys or Game

  3. Earlier this week we brought news that a bundle containing a 40GB PS3 console along with a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV would be launching in Sweden. Today it was confirmed that the bundle will be launching in the United Kingdom on April 29th priced at £299, the same as the standalone console.

Our current poll indicates that 23% of participants are intending buying a PS3, and this is a great opportunity for Europeans to get the game at no extra cost.

  4. Sales for Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 and Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 cracked into the top five sales at Amazon.com this week as the anticipated sequel nears retail release.

On Thurs., GTA IV for the Xbox 360 held a No. 3 rank, while the PS3 version held a No. 4 rank in the Video Games division.

Grand Theft Auto IV is the next chapter in the best-selling Grand Theft Auto franchise. The Xbox 360 version will include two downloadable episodes available exclusively on Xbox Live.

The title focuses on Niko Bellic, an Eastern European immigrant who travels to Liberty City.

Take-Two Interactive in Aug. delayed Grand Theft Auto IV to 2008 from an original Oct. 2007 release. The publisher cited additional development time required to complete the title.

The title will be released on Apr. 29 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. In Mar., Take-Two rejected a $2B buyout offer from EA, saying that the bid undervalued the software maker.

Rockstar Games and Amazon in Mar. said that the two will partner to allow buyers of the Grand Theft Auto IV to purchase music tracks heard in the game from Amazon.

Tracks to be featured in the game include Electrick Funk's 12-inch treasure "On A Journey", Elton John's "Street Kids", and exclusive trackcs like "War is Necessary" from rapper Nas.

The UK retailer Shopto has confirmed that a PS3 GTA IV Bundle will be released in Europe on April 29. Originally there was some confusion as to which retailer had the distribution rights on the bundle, but the COO of Shopto.com told GamesIndustry.biz :

“We know for a fact it is coming out in Europe and we are expecting an announcement in the UK any time. We are not sure if Gem or Centresoft are distributing it yet, that seems to be the hold up.”

The bundle, which ever retailer gets it, will go sale the same day as the release of GTA IV. Just 12 more days people, prepare yourselves.

They will dispatch it a day or 2 before release to make sure you get it on the day. And they will take the money from your bank on the 29th April 2008.

Those are the biggest UK retailers for ya.

Not to be outdone, Sony has seemingly responded with an answer to Microsoft's GTA IV Xbox 360 Elite bundle with a sweet looking deal of their own.

Engadget has posted a picture of what appears to be a Sony PlayStation 3 / GTA IV bundle. The bundle was posted on the site Swedish retailer Webhallen. The bundle includes a 40GB PlayStation and the game. According the site, it's unclear if this model includes DualShock 3 controllers or not.

Also, their is no mention of this being available in the United States, but one can only speculate...
