  1. Well, he has a point, as stated on the forum rules, you can't bump topics which are at least a month old. Let me reference you the topic: http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/topic/2-forum-rules/

"If you've found a topic in which the posts were all made a long time ago, you should ask yourself this question before replying.

Is this topic useful and/or will other members appreciate me bringing this topic back up to the first page?

Now if the answer to this is yes, then you're fine so long as your reply is on topic and somewhat meaningful and/or insightful. There's no point bumping a topic and just saying "thanks for the info". If the answer is no, then there porbably isn't much point replying.

Bumping old topics which aren't on the first 2 pages of a forum without a worth reply will usually result in the locking of the topic, and/or your post being deleted. You'll be warned for repeat offences."

You can though, bump them if you feel it's necessary. It's true though, forums are pretty inactive nowadays. And topics like these should hopefully return. But to be on the safe side, reply to recently posted topics or posts.

Oh and before I forget, welcome to TGTAP GTAGal! Have a nice stay here. :)

  2. The gangs as it's called, was once a big thing in the early days (2006 all the way to 2008), but the gang scene hasn't been as active as it use to be. There was once a store that use to exist in which we'd buy guns and other stuff for a gang war (This war was a text based RPG format). Then after that, it wasn't worth continuing. We then use to have sessions on MTA:SA (Multi-Theft Auto: San Andreas), in which we played GTA SA with each other on our own server. That's dead now.

Since then, the gang scene hasn't revived one bit, although a few of us still post in the private gang forums. But that's it really. LCF and a few others gangs are still active, but we are kind of busy with other stuff nowadays (Well, some of us are).

I don't have clarification if we still accept more people in our gangs. But to tell you the truth, it's pointless for you and other newbies to come into our gang or any other. There are many reasons (One being it's dead), but the others are that you are still very new. If you read our requirements, you need to be here for some time, and we need to see that you're an active user.

Hope this gives you some understanding, mate.

  3. I don't know about you guys, but recently the server's been crapping itself on me before the upgrade began. It feels way more quicker now, and each page I click which leads me to another page on this site is a lot more instant than it was before.

Anyways, cheers for the heads up, Chris. Finally, a UK based server, not a foreign server. :P

  4. My mate at college loves dubstep.

He's the only one that actually likes it out of all of my mates, but now I'm starting to like it. Nice tunes though, the second link is just fucking great.

    Cheers for the link.

  5. That may be true, but recall that I never called videogames "just" toys, as though the words "toys" and "art" were mutually exclusive. They're obviously not. A masterfully designed action figure can truly be a work of art, but that doesn't change the fact it's still a toy. It was meant to be played with, that is unless you're a douchebag who's so ashamed of his hobby that you constantly insist it's a "collectible". I'm not a pretentious snob who believes anything that's popular and coherent isn't art. I'm just stating a fact. Videogames were meant to be played with, therefore they are toys. That's how they started out and that's what they should still strive to be. A plaything for my enjoyment. That doesn't mean they aren't brilliant masterpieces. But don't forget what games are and don't forget their purpose.

That's why I frickin' hate the Move. It has just dawned on me that this is nothing more than a corporate exercise to placate the Wii's detractors, mainly the idiots who think the Wii is nothing more than two Gamecubes duct taped together. All it's offering to the table is HD. HD contributes ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to gaming. It's just to please the more "diehard" fans who have forgotten what gaming is supposed to be about. The dumbass graphics whores who'll masturbate over bloom effects and other technical bullshit like that. The same motherfuckers who'll eat this shit up after spending the last four years making fun of the Wii. I'm adamant that this thing will fail hard. It just won't have the spirit and creativity Nintendo presents all the time. It's nothing more than a shameless ripoff. Same thing with Natal.

I can't argue with what you said, but games have to change, I guess. Sony's move may have surprised us, but I guess with the way gaming is now, they've benefited from it and made something like this, which yeah, is a shameless rip-off.

Also, those whores who like HD are those who prefer nicer visuals, to those that are fairly outdated. Graphics are an important factor in games now, and what you can do with it is a magnificent result (If you're interested in game developing). I myself like graphics, and looking back at time, you can tell that it's been a successful ride for a lot of game developers making very good looking games. After all, graphics are part of the package, making it shit just puts people down, unfortunately. Some game developers are dependant on graphic games, not gameplay games. I think once someone sees the mistake that developer created, they will try to focus more on the fun side of stuff, the gameplay.

The market can be big competition, that's why these companies are making stuff like this, so they can stand out more and sell, that's the point in Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.

  6. Games were toys back in the early days, but see how they've evolved into something a lot more bigger than just toys. These games now are full of realism, better interactivity, and so much more.

It'd be a bit dumb to call them toys, but I know where you're coming from. Like Ivan said, I just can't see why they should be called toys, when so many of it has done greatly in the gaming world. Some of it's technology is now being used in other things as well (e.g. game engines being used in movies). Technology is rapidly changing, and so is the ideology of it, it changes games, and many other things now. You can't just call it toys.

But that's just my 2 cent.

Also, the motion controller does look like a big rip-off from the Wii controls, but then again, I doubt they were being creative in it's design. Nonetheless, lets see what can be done with this sort of thing.

  7. I doubt something like this has anything to do with the next GTA.

It was probably just new PC's inside a few box's, or some hardware, who knows. It's not like their going to place some information about the next GTA in a box.

There's nothing important about that whatsoever, and even if it had the "V" on the box, it could of been something else.

  8. Firstly, you've been active for a few days, there's no point even in making you a member in this gang. And secondly, the gangs you see now don't meaning nothing anymore, like Ivan said.

So really, there's no point in you getting desperate about getting into a gang, there's nothing for you to do and there's no point whatsoever.

  9. So I'm a trophy whore if I care? :P

Nah, I don't care about my trophy collection. But there's alot of music data along with a few video's I've placed in my HDD. Will it affect my HDD?

Also I've already been on my PS3. I wasn't signed in, and nothing really happened at all, other than not signing in.

  10. Controls are sort of odd, since I'm more use to clicking L3. :P

I played it before, quite enjoyed playing the Rush Mode, similar to CoD's SnD mode. But to be honest, I'm not big fan of the game itself, but this seemed to be a great game for MP nonetheless.
