  1. What is it with you guys/gals and 'Xbone' slang usage? I never use other people's cute attempts to invent new words, as far as I'm concerned, it's more confusing then not. Anything for the Xbox could be coined with some arbitrary name, and at any time, so I'd have no idea to what you refer, just as example. I'd seen that word used in Xbox Live messaging from someone in my list of friends.....

First off, every word in the dictionary was invented at some point. Our evolutionary ancestors didn't crawl out of the ocean with an English language dictionary clamped between their fins, now did they?

And "Xbone" is shorthand for "Xbox One". That should be common knowledge by now because everyone is using it. We can't exactly just call it "One", because then for damn sure no one would know what we're talking about.

Also, Nate's right. You got banned from GTAF for one reason or another. Regardless of whether it was justified or not, it happened, is over and done with, and you need to let it go and move on with your life.

  2. but the internet says that its existence is possible.

But the thing is, the Internet is wrong. The game has been modded up the wall and no traces of any of its alleged hidden creatures have ever been found. This long ago should have been the nail in the coffin (it was for me), but most myth hunters are just so desperate for these things to be real more than anything to the point that they'll disregard obvious proof (like the game being dismantled by modders with no evidence found) and desperately cling to hearsay and false claims such as a Rockstar employee allegedly claiming that there was "something in the woods", which I can find nothing whatsoever to verify.

I like the myths, I think they're fun. If hunting for these things brings you enjoyment, more power to you. Do I want Bigfoot to be roaming around Back O Beyond? Do I want there to be a Woods Creature? So much yes. But that doesn't change the fact that there's nothing in the game files to prove it. I've heard "explanations" for this running the gambit from "a Rockstar employee secretly put it in" to "it can only be found in certain versions of the game", but none hold up. I mean, think about it: how quick were the UFOs and fake Bigfoot in GTA V verified in-game and plastered all over the Internet? Seemingly the day after it released. And now here it is a decade after GTA SA's release and all we've seen are a few grainy pictures that no one can prove are real. Why is this? Because there's simply nothing there.

  3. For once, Black, I agree completely with you.

Look, I am truly sorry for the situation these refugees are in at no fault of their own and I'm sure the vast majority of them, regardless of faith, are good people, but like Scott said, we've gotta look after our own right now and as heartless as it might sound, closing our borders to these people should have been the first course of action. But obviously that spineless asshat in the White House has no real intention of actually fighting ISIS. As amazingly hardcore as units like Delta and DEVGRU are, it's going to take more than just a few teams on the ground and an air campaign to accomplish anything. Air power alone has never, and will never, win a war.

We left Iraq too soon and now the world is paying the price. My only hope now is that France officially declares war and invokes an Article 5.

  4. I'll get a PS4 first for it's killer app Uncharted 4, when the recession began, no one new how long or how bad, I spent my last work check on the PS3, and since then I think I owned 3 of those and countless RROD and semi-working Xbox360s, Just one ONE would be nice, but I hear both are non-backward compatible. Shame that.

Microsoft added backwards compatibility to Xbone on the 12th.

  5. I understand not everyone is privy to how up to date a forum or within....threads are being preserved, or too busy to take the time, but imagine a school or library not taking the time to update accuracy of it's information database, besides looking bad, and unprofessional, it serves as unjustly informing it's user base' and anyone hoping to be well informed, which is the heart of the Web, interconnected computers not only for interchange as telecommunication but archival information on all the World's topics, and believe you me, it's the number one go-to source, so it should be maintained in that manner, as best as possible.

Take the time, someone...being the goal of a good Webmaster

You seriously compare old images posted on a web page to keeping a library or dictionary up-to-date? The absurdities that you type never cease to amaze me.

In regard to the cop cars, I'm not drawing a comparison there, I'm saying keep in mind what we do know about Rockstar's rather secretive game design and build steps, and what drives that and the results based on that workload direction and design.

For example, if you go in to work at Rockstar building that dream game, your favorite idea maybe shot down in a meeting with the producers, Sam Houser made his own clear examples in previous magazine interviews [if not online]

In his prime case he had suggested filling car tanks with petrol that would run low with the car in use.

He was shot down by overwhelming vote or something like that.

That idea might still come to pass in the evolution of GTA...but is not seen as an important one, for me, more interiors, caves, and underground locations or similar make the non mission aspect of GTA that much more fun...and need immediate address STILL

As far as cop car design, one fact we do know is the color and any NYPD similarity was changed in light of the events of 9/11/01

That's rather well known in GTA-lore, and the series started as Race N' Chase ... with a simple cops and robbers theme, you as the good guy was changed to an anti-hero criminal on the rise... and thusly the infamous GTA was born!  Also key to the game is the late 90s turn to Sam and Dan Houser... DMA leading GTA would def have a different outcome in the game we know today

So, then, again explain to me how any of that is relevant to the suggestion of having player modifications to vehicles showing up as standard on all vehicles?

  6. I'm still waiting for that story mode DLC that was supposed to be announced at the end of 2014. The vehicles and weapons added in all the free updates are great, but I'd like something of a little substance now.

  7. When your old, trusty Image host ain't workin' no more, it's time to update... I hate that ppl are so lax they don't keep up with the changing, fluid state of the Interwebs, just makes the thread look bad!

Yeah, no one with a life of any kind is going to trawl through old Internet postings just to repost images that get deleted over time.

The cop car idea would never fly, the main issue Rockstar STILL face is based on building a map for the game, then placing the story into that map, it never fails to fall short of using the map fully, even with online additions, and some of that is now aiding single player, but GTA 6 should not revisit old map ideas, but still use the USA, I say up near Canada with more snow elements! Great Lakes region for bordering

How does the placing the story in the map affect modding cop cars? I agree that player mods shouldn't become standard on every in-game vehicle (I'd prefer a randomized system like Saints Row 2 had), but the correlation between story and map has little, if anything, to do with modding cars.

  8. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has favorite songs to run from the cops to. Mine are:

GTA III - "Scarface (Push It to the Limit" by Paul Engemann

GTA Vice City - "I Ran (So Far Away)" by A Flock of Seagulls and "Too Young to Fall in Love" by Motley Crue

GTA Vice City Stories - "Rock You Like a Hurricane" by the Scorpions and "Holy Diver" by Dio

GTA San Andreas - "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses and "La Raza" by Kid Frost

TLaD - "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi,

GTA V - "Scandalous" by Mis-Teeq (last gen) and "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins (current gen)

I didn't really have any favorite chase songs in Liberty City Stories, GTA IV, or TBoGT.

  9.

I hear that Donald Trump and his Republican cronies want to turn the United States of America into a real-life Republic of Gilead. He wants to make immigration to the US illegal, take away civil rights from people like women and LGBT people, make all crimes into capital offenses, force all young men between the ages of 18 to 21 to serve in the military BEFORE attending university and make everyone attend Protestant church upon the threat of being arrested and sent to the electric chair.

He also wants to make "reservations" for black people, Hispanic people, Jews and Muslims where they will be controlled like the Native American people of the late 19th century.

At least he wants to send the jobs back from China so that production levels in the US will be higher than in World War 2, at least according to Donald Trump's official spokesman.

He also flew a sick child and his parents across the country to a doctor on his own dime when the airlines refused.

That is just mere publicity to get him elected as the President of the United States. Once's he elected, Trump will take away the civil rights of the LGBTQ population (including same-sex marriage), bomb Iran with multiple nuclear missiles in a Third World War and make the life of the typical black person a living nightmare with laws that protect the KKK and the skinheads.

You and my dad would get along great. He's a conspiracy nut, too.

  11. Not much. I bought HAWX and RE: ORC the other day. I'm less than thrilled with ORC, but HAWX is great.

And I kind of wish Chris would pop in and deal with that spammer that's been running wild over the past several days. Maybe I'll volunteer my assistance as a mod to deal with that sort of thing on a regular basis, since I check in almost every day despite not posting a lot.

  12. I hardly think a video game is the final authority on a vehicle's performance, no matter how accurate it claims to be. My Ford Escape gets 30 MPG city and 38 highway (and that's with a 3.6 liter 6-cylinder), which is about on par with most import sedans, and it can get up and go quite rapidly.

  13. If I'm going to quit, I'll usually save my game before ending the session with a rampage regardless of who I'm playing as. But, generally yes, Trevor is responsible for more random and pointless killings than Michael or Franklin. :innocent:
