Chatroom will be working now but we only have a 5 user limit at the moment. This will be increased soon.
I remember when this was requested by members along time ago when you guys negatively responded on how " gay " it was.
If you think any of our admins said something was 'gay', then you are completely delusional. Using that word in that context is actually a bannable offence here, and we do enforce that.
Now we have a managed moderatable chatroom integrated into the forums, then it's not so much of an issue as a tgtap-branded shitty external one. We can control this very easily and restrict it to members, or just Full Members if we need to.

Can't get it working, dunno why though.
Go here. Find this topic in the list. Hover to the right of the topic title (where the red box is in the image above). The green icon should appear, click on it, and the preview box should come up.
-
You can preview a topic from the subforum view by clicking the green icon
I didn't really understand what that meant since I didn't see an icon like that anywhere.
If you hover over where I put the red box, then the icons will show up. This screenshot shows the icons to pin/rename/delete as well as the preview icon.

You may notice a few changes we've made to TGTAP today, mostly thanks to our upgrade to IPB 3.1 and 3.1.1
- You can preview a topic from the subforum view by clicking the green icon
- You can now link your account to Facebook and Twitter. This lets you "like" things, sahre things, import/export images, status updates, and even log-in using just Twitter/Facebook.
- In the sidebar, you can view recent TGTAP-related updates from Facebook
- You can now reply directly to people's status updates in the sidebar
- A lot of behind-the-scenes changes to make our lives easier, and make sure this forum runs better!
We're still sorting out a couple of skin tweaks, but please reply if you spot any problems.
You may also notice that the 'Members' user group has been split into "New Members" and "Full Members". Only members who have been here some time, and proved that they're not spammers, will become Full Members and have full access to the forum and all its features. To make sure you're in the right group, just log out and log back in again!
Full Members can now delete their own posts and topics. This is for if you make a mistake (ie post something twice), it's not for deleting old topics. Staff will be able to see everything you delete, and can make them re-appear if they think they were unfairly deleted. This is a trust thing, so don't abuse it

It's happened to me for a while too.
We'll be upgrading to a new version soon, hopefully that will fix it. If not, I'll check the redirects.
-
Today we're testing some settings for different types of member, and some new methods of dealing with spammers and vandals.
Until then, most members only have the privileges and restrictions of a "new member".
Those members who've been here a while will have the rest of their privileges and rights back later today.

Please note that on this forum, the preferred language is English, not 11-year-old. If you prefer to speak in your own language/dialect/baby-talk, you can do so in our International Forum.
I believe you said "But I don't want to give you my info. Please give me permissions, you have to, I have a right to have themes".
- You can select a theme from the bottom-left corner.
- We have 31,000 members, they can't ALL have a theme each. That would take up too much space, make the website too slow, and cause a lot of problems.
- We prefer to just have one theme for this forum, because then we know that everything works properly and looks fine. If we had lots of different skins, that would be impossible.
- If we let all 31,000 members have admin access, this forum would get deleted within 2 minutes. Obviously we can't let that happen, so we restrict admin access to trusted, long-term forum staff.
Please don't feel the trolls.

Chris can you stop using my card to buy porn?
It's not Chris's fault. We sell your credit card details to companies and spammers, so that we can afford to run the server every month.

- Credit card number and CC2 - 674382946371
That isn't a full credit card number, don't try and fool us

thts the wy it shud work ahaaaa can i be admin nao plz???!!!!11one
Of course! You're now an admin, you can now log into the Admin Control Panel and do whatever you want.

Considering Sherman can't be trusted with a goldfish, I'd say that's about accurate.
Hey that wasn't his fault! He thought it was a sandwich, he didn't mean to eat it alive.
-
Are you guys serious?
Of course, we make people admin just because they ask. That's totally how it works here. You know that. It's not based on how good they are, or whether they have any experience, or even if they're trustworthy.

Using your parents card is fine, doesn't have to be your own.

You can't edit the post forever (there is a time limit), and that would be one HUGE post (there is a size limit).
You should reply to the topic with your next chapter. Then edit the first post with a link directly to each chapter's post.
I'd suggest just getting on with it, and we can worry about the organisation of it later

I don't understand the problem. Why would the admins stop you posting your story?
So long as you stick to the forum rules, it's fine. Don't put any unnecessary swearing, abusive language, racism/homophobia or any personal insults towards members of this forum. Don't spam people (like PMing then with "read my story") and don't advertise any other sites. I don't see how posting a story would break those rules, so carry on.

I'm not suggesting that we do nothing and leave TGTAP to die. I'm saying that I'm happy to do whatever the community thinks would help. However, bear in mind that there are some things I can't do, like pay for MTA servers or code huge gang systems or pay for plane tickets for TGTAP member meetups.
Regarding the Red Dead website, that took Chris a couple of hours to make, and almost no effort to run. You can't compare that to spending weeks coding a brand new gang system from scratch, fully integrated into the forum, testing it and making sure it's secure.
If you want to ask Chris to code the system, go ahead. I wish he would, but he won't. That's his choice, he doesnt have to do it.
Right now, we need some good ideas for things we can reasonably do. If you can't come up with good ideas, then don't expect good things to magically happen.
-
The gang system was never finished, so what would we reboot?
Gang membership, gang forums, shop to buy weapons, organised multiplayer, our own servers, compeltely custom MTA system, MTA integrated with forum gangs and the shop?
If it's a custom system on this forum, who's going to code it? If it's MTA, who's going to pay for the server every month? If it's anything custom in MTA, who's going to code it?
I'm not trying to shit on your fire here, but it's not as if we can just 'decide' for a gang system to exist. I can make subforums and user groups, the rest has go to be up to you guys.
-
Dude, you could just ASK us if you wanted the gangs back. Everyone here has been sad to see them go, but nobody used them, and nobody has asked for them back. There's no need to start a petition or revolution, just discuss it.
I've asked what people want. If they want somewhere they can talk privately with their friends, we can do that. If they want to have named clubs/gangs to be a part of, then we can do that. If they want to play multiplayer GTA, we can try to sort something out.
So - in this topic, give your ideas for what you want (whether it's gangs, forums or multiplayer). I'll put a poll up next week. This isn't "majority rule", or "democracy", but of course we're happy to make these forums how its members want.

There's a difference between "knowing that some people do it" and actively helping them (and everyone else) to illegally crack the game.
The rule on these forums is no cracking under any circumstances. Stick to it.
-
Alvas - Please don't give that advice. Cracking the game is against the terms of use, whether you paid for it or not. Yes it's a lot better than stealing, but people often use the excuse "I lost the DVD" even when they didn't.
TGTAP will not help with cracking or torrenting or anything like that, whether or not you claim to have paid for the game.
-
Life goes on, but when we die, we just aren't a part of it any more.
-
We will absolutely not help with cracking a game. This is illegal, whether you have an excuse or not, and it would only be abused by other people.
If you go down to a local game store (or even a library), they may have a machine for fixing scratched CDs. Otherwise, buy it on Steam or eBay for just a few dollars.
-
That may be true, but TGTAP needs its own design - not just one that's been recycled from another website.
