My parents don't want to me to buy even an Airsoft gun (the one that shoots little plastic pellets) because "You might shoot yourself.... "

:o

In Australia, Airsoft guns are classified as "Ristricted Firearms of mass destruction" because our legal system sucks at some things.

Most people are smart enough to know that shooting themselves is bad.

I have to admit it, my parents think of me as a retard. (I'm not)

Have you seen that youtube video were this guy shoots himself in the head with a Airsoft pistol?

His like "Goodbeye Cruel World *BANG* Uhh WHOO OH HOW!!!!!"

Got connection back up, printer is still fubar but the card reader works.

By popular demand, East meets West -

ARAK.jpg

My AK (upper) & AR-15 (lower). Both semi-auto.

The AK was marked "SLR" (Self Loading Rifle) to get around an assault rifle ban in the early '90s, just a basic AK-47 fitted

w/ a thumbhole stock since the ban applied to "pistol grip" weapons. Since it was listed as a SLR instead of an AK, it got

right in. The milled receiver accepts all AK magazines including the 75 round drum I have in storage & it fires the standard

7.62x39 "Warsaw pact" round, bought cheaply at any sporting goods or gun store. I think Wal Mart even stocks them.

Quick search found 200 rounds of Wolf mil spec ammo on SKS "stripper" clips for $22.

The ban has since expired & was not renewed. Bought New in box for $450, low price at the time for an AK.

The AR is a PWA (aftermarket) lower receiver & a mil spec E-2 upper & pretty much self explanatory. It has a forward

assist (button just behind the ejection port) to help push the bolt into position then it's dirty, the main cause of jamming

when it was first issued, a simple but effective solution. The 5.56 NATO round is ballistically & dimensionally identical

to the civilian .223, the primary difference being that the 5.56 is discolored at the neck from heat treating to soften the

case & prevent case seperation (wher the neck is torn off the case as it's ejected), at beat resulting in a jamb & worst

the next round chambering & blowing out the chamber from the obstruction. A box of 20 rounds is currently about $10

at Cabela's (Winchester 55 gr.). Domestically produced ammo is more expensive.

Bought new for $750 during ban, again low for the time.

For the blade fans, here's may Batl'eth (spelling?) w/ the AR for size comparison.

Batleth.jpg

The AK and the Batleth are fucking awesome. I love the look off Thumbholed assult rifles, with full auto...

Guys this isn't for posting pictures of guns you'd like. It's for posting pictures of guns you own.

I wont post in this topic ever again. :(

WHY DO I HAVE TO BE AN ADOLCENT AUSTRALIAN!!!!!!! *Cries in hands lol*.

Why? WHY!!!!!! Why Dont I have a gun!!!! *Gets a broken capgun and shoots in head*.

...Bond, Gerard Bond.

???? That isnt a PPK or P99, its that Conpensator-enabled thingy I forget the name off. He just is holding the M1911 lookalike in a "Bondish" pose which looks more Austin Powers than Bond. I play the James Bond around here.

Bond, Ultraussie Bond.

I feel the need to post pics of my guns, however they are at home and I am at work. But hopefully I'll be able to take some pics this weekend.

Aside from my Daisy bb gun (lol)

I have a .22 rifle and a .38 Special Smith & Wesson. Both of which belonged to my grandfather. He was a sport shooter, NRA member, etc. Almost died at a competition when his shot gun exploded in his hands. We still have the pieces of the gun in a bag somewhere (my grandmother saved them).

She was recently diagnosed with dementia so we've been going through the house and my brother in law (who has many guns, and hunts) and I have taken the guns out.

I don't hunt, but I took them because they were my grandfather's. I hope I never have to use them outside of a range or my father's yard (because I live in a residential area where it's illegal to fire them).

1) Feel free to post relevant comments, dust don't fill the topic w/ pics copied off the net.

2) Over-reaction to several violent incidents leading to some of the most anal gun control laws in the world.

If you live out of the city, buddy up to your local Magistrate & get a permit for a nice Enfield (best bolt action rifle, period).

That was relevant, good job. As for being the James Bond of TGTAP, post a pic of yourself up a tree w/ the Union Jack

wearing the uniform of Her Majesty's Royal Service.

Until then you'll have to settle for being Crocodile Ultraussie.

draftermatt - I share your hope in never having to fire in self defense.

BUMP ALERT!!!!

Okay it's been a bit, but I'm curious what people's collections look like these days (in actuality

my cable pissed me off for the last time & I can only cuss at GTA Online so much).

Simple enough, pics weapons you (or family) own or use in military/police service & relevant

comments.  I would also answer questions on subject.

Just a headsup, this is almost a 5 year bump so quoted prices have probably changed & a lot

of images are gone.  Surprised mine are still there as the photo account they're in was attached

to my exGF & thought she would have replaced have replaced them all w/ Lithuanian midget porn.

So if Chris is on Holiday on Malta or something, let him know his favorite GD American found a

working keyboard.

No, the guy w/ the Dragonov is not from Duck Dynasty.

Heyo(I never saw this topic back in the day??). Read up a couple pages, enough to catch the two 1911s you own Urban. Anyway I just want to say to anyone who's thinking of uploading their firearm collection think about the pros and cons of having others know every single firearm you own.

I'm not sure if I'll post pictures or not but firearms have been around my life for a long time. I live in California where the laws are more strict(for example: legally anything I have can only have 10 round mags. But there is a pistol my dad bought before those laws were made and because of that it's still legal to have it's 16 round magazine). Is that a real 7.62 dragunov urban? That shits crazy. Have plenty of hunting rifles(maybe someday I'll post some beautiful pictures of some Remington 700s. Got 'em chambered in .243 and I forget the other(it's my fathers). Been shooting my friends 700 lately though, a model made in the 90s chambered in .270. Needs to be sighted in a little better but still gets the jobs done. I love .270. My father in the last year or so purchased a new Kimber Eclipse Custom II. Amazing .45. Most accurate handgun I've shot. I'm personally in the market for a .45 H&K.

Glad you like the hardware  & yes, the Dragonov is real (Bulgarian) & surprisingly easy on the

bad shoulder.

Been thinking about picking up something in .243 & .270 myself, they're among the few calibers

still readily available.  As for .45, I can still reload.  I take my buddy & his kids shooting so the kids

can chase down the brass.

Standard warning here:  If you reload get a good manual, Hornady, Lee, etc & follow it to the letter.

Failure to do so may result in learning to rat w/ sticks tied to stumps.

So you got your computer fixed, 'aye? Other than the aforementioned connection problem if I'm not mistaken.

My dad has this Glock pistol, and a Spike's M16 if I'm not mistaken. He also had this rifle adapter for the pistol to be used as a rifle, but it didn't fit his piece at all.

I want to get a reloading kit. Awesome to hear you're taking out the youngins' to get them comfortable in the environment.

Nice choice on thinking .243 and .270 UO. Highly recommend them. What brands are you looking at?

To the TGTAP users not familiar with firearms, .243 and .270 are calibers I recommend to everyone for a good amount of situations, but with recommending calibers it all comes down to what the needs are and what medium(s) will be applied, whether that's recreational target shooting, hunting, competition, you name it(though I can't think of others). Bottom of the line factor in what you need over your wants. a 30-06 does not NEED to be your first gun.

.243 is perfect for the tiny black tail we get around here, but I just bought a rifle in .270 and slapped a 3x9 Leupold on it(9 days into the 10 day period, getting it tomorrow. God damn it's a beautiful rifle, will take a picture for you UO when I get it). We're talking humane kills, minimal meat damage with good shot placement and if I decide to hunt bigger game I can with better conscious. Plus I'm a hell of a shot with a .270.

Not really sure where you're living so I can't talk on the meat you have near you. If you're hunting, since you're looking into .270, read up on .300WSM. Short actions shedding off a little weight making long hunting trips easier and a high range of bullet choices for allowance to be able to pick off a wide range of animal and damn, do they put things down.

Will be glad to hear from you when we can.
