Official Video Game Controversy Thread

This is a place to discuss anything on your mind about video game controversy. Speak your mind about anything from the violence and sex from some games to politics about video game legislation. Hell, even use this to vent about Jack Thompson and other anti-video game activists.

First of all, Jack Thompson blaming Counter-Strike for the horrible tradgedy at Virginia Tech. Man, was that a dick move, considering the fact that no games were found in the shooter's dorm room and the last known time he allegedly played the game was four years prior to the shooting, when he was in high school. Jason Della Rocca was right on the mark; Jack Thompson is a massecre-chaser.

Second of all, video games are protected under the First Amendment, whether you like it or not. Deal with it.

And lastly, to all of those Parent Teacher Organizations out there: Stop using us gamers as your scapegoats. It's your fault when your child snaps and shoots up his or her friends. You're responsible for your own child. Don't f*ck with us because you can't handle him or her.

When I was younger, we didn't have Columbine or incidents like that. It started when state & local governments started to

interfere w/ parents control over their children. Right wrong or indifferent, the old school methods worked. You didn't have

kids saying "F you" to their parents, drive-bys were almost unheard of & when you got into a fight it ended when the fight was over. Now we have the "Experts" telling us how to raise our kids (I've noticed most of them are overeducated idiots

that don't even have kids). People wonder why I vote Republican.

No, their parents need a kick in the ass for not doing their job & teaching them respect & discipline. This can be done simply

by being firm, not giving in to tantrums & taking responsibility for your own children. If you made 'em, you need to keep track of them.

If the parents did their job right, a 14 or 15 year old should be able to keep a video game in context.
