well somewhere ( im not sure were i'm new ) there is a forum which explains all to modding but her's a brief ;)

to install a skin

1-go to your root directory (where gta-sa.exe is)

2-open models->player.img

3-open player.img with an img tool http://www.thegtaplace.com/downloads/file.php?id=552

4-read the readme and it should say which file to replace

5-using img tool find the .txd and make a backup of it then delete it from the archive (player.img)

6-Using winrar you extract the file given in the rar archive

7-add the file you extracted to the player.img and then do rebuild archive in one of the tabs

8-start up San andreas and have fun

to install a car its the same principle but instead of player.img its "gta3.img"

Some cars may have a readme showing a handling line, carcol line, vehicle line or carmod line

these files are found in the data folder in the root directory of san andreas

the are (respectively) handling.cfg, carcols.dat, vehicles.ide, and carmods.dat

well thats as brief and detailed that I can be :PB)

if you have questions message me ;)

Hello thnks for your help but i still got a problem,,

I downloaded IMG Tool 2.0, ive read the readme at winzip but in the readme they dont say what file i should replace. So i have no idea where i can open the IMGTool.exe file.

It does say: Run setup.exe (You must have already tongue.gif) install, run IMGTool.exe or

use the link in "Start Menu > Programs > GTAModding".

But I really do not know what they mean by that..

Here`s an easier way, download the file, open it with WinZip,it`ll probably automatically do that for you,if you`re using Firefox, then extract the file to your documents, copy the file from your documents by pressing Ctrl+C then going to your SA directory, then go to skins and press Ctrl+V to paste.

This is the way I normally use, frankly,it seems easier TBH.

Error: unable to create output file "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\models\txd\vincent.dff"

It seems that winzip cant open/extract some files.

What i do is this: Go to C drive -> Program Files -> Rockstar -> Gta SA -> Models -> Copy unextracted file into models.

What am i doing wrong?

And because i still got img tool i cant open my gta3.img & player.img etcc

I deleted the vincent.txd & vincent.dff file fom gta3.img to make room for the mercedes (the mercedes replaces the vincent), i also made i backup folder which contains vincent.txd & .dff, but now i still have no clue how to put my mercedes into the gta3.img so i can drive with it,, also now i removed vindent.txd & .dff i cant play gta sa anymore so i really need help fast please :)

even though i sent you a message here's the answer:

do commands -> add (in gta3.img opened with img tool)

a menu will pop up

now supposing that the files of the mercedes were extracted from the zip, find them and add them one by one into the gta3.img using img tool.

then after that is finished go to commands -> rebuild archive and wait until it's finished

then exit and voilà (yes i speak french fluently) you got your mercedes in your game :dribble:
