Yes, you do need San Andreas, yes, preferably a legal version.

After this, you'll need either IMG tool, or SAMI. SAMI is by far the easier option, it's much more friendly to those who are only just beginning to mod.

Find it in the downloads database on the site.

Just download the mod you want, and SAMI will install it for you.

However, you won't be able to mod if you don't have V1 of the game. You'll need to downgrade a V2 game to be able to play.

You can get SA pretty much anywhere.Just go to your local game shop, it costs about £10 here in England.You can also get it off eBay for a cheaper price.

If i was you ide get a version not from the internet unless you know its safe and not free like mrllamallama said or buy it from a shop when you get it its probably v2 you will be lucky to get v1 theres no diffrence but just downgrade to v1 you will need to download SAMI or imgtool now i got SAMI and it really mucked my game up and everything made it crash so i reccomedn imgtool should be avaliable on this site you may want to look up a tutorial on youtube its so easy when you get used to it so if you get SAMI be aware it could muck your game up so i reccomend IMGtool once youve watched the tutorial start modding i guess if you need help just say you know what they say.........
