Thomas. 21 Posted July 30, 2008 We don't get a lot of American cars over here except Ford. So Europe for Win.
chris82 3 Posted July 30, 2008 Yes Europe generally makes better cars, sure American cars are cheaper if you live in America but honestly at least half of the cars I see are imports because of the better designs and fuel economy. I'd say the most common European imports are German-made, then Swedish (although not technically because Ford owns Volvo), then Italian for the wealthy for the sports car owners, and British. (Land Rover) I have never seen a French-made car (Renault. Pugeot) nor a Fiat...weird.
Chris 246 Posted July 30, 2008 Heh, French makes are probably some of the most popular cars in Britain. And yeah I hate almost all American cars. in fact I can list American cars I like right now as there's so few. Chevrolet - Corvettes and Camaros (new ones) Ford - Mustangs and the Focus RS and yeah I think that's it, just those four
Sherman 40 Posted July 31, 2008 Japanese. gtfo. Out of the choices.... I'd still go with American. Replacement parts are horrible for stuff such as BMW, VW, Audi etc. Like getting them to Americounty, I mean.
WRX22B1998 23 Posted July 31, 2008 ahh. they are both good in their own ways, lol like sky i would prefer japanese cars, but...ehh i dunno, cant decide between the
Maddog89 0 Posted August 1, 2008 I'm Italian so have to go wiyh Europe because of lambo,Pagani,Alfa Romao, and ferarri
Spaz The Great 67 Posted August 2, 2008 You can't truthfully and factually answer this question. There are too many companies from both sides that you can't lump them all into things like "good", "bad", "better", etc. I love VWs. Mostly the GTIs, old Beetles, and the classic micro buses((and not to mention the Westfalia campervans)). But then again, I love my American muscle..... Mainly, the Ford Mustang. But yet, we really can't forget Japan. They do have some badass super cars. Nissan Skyline, anyone?
Kitsune Inferno 22 Posted August 2, 2008 Japan, but since that's not one of the choices, America (70's GTO, bitches). VWs are nice, but I really effin' hate European sports/supercars.
Urbanoutlaw 12 Posted August 4, 2008 Yank iron, period. Bear in mind I've been wrenchin' since the late '70s.
MrLlamaLlama 96 Posted August 4, 2008 Who makes the better cars (On a technical, ability, practicality 'the stuff that matters' note,) Europe jizzes all over the US. However, two of the 5 cars i love most ever are american. ('73 corvette stingray, in Scarlett), ('72 Plymouth 'Cuda, in Green) Two are also European, one of those 2 scandinavian. (Being the Koenigsegg CCX) (and the VW camper) My absolute dream car is, though japanese. (Either an '87 (pre body change) or '91 Honda CR-X) Ok, the wheels are ugly as sin, but is IS a Blista compact. And i'm sure it's nothing some 5 spoke's couldn't fix. Not sure what point I'm making here. I suppose it's Europe for making cars that were meant to be driven, and the US for making cars that will still be popular when robots have taken over and are pissing for us. Urbanoutlaw 12 Posted August 4, 2008 You know, this will never really be settled here. Not many American cars get to Europe & the European cars that are here are mostly US built representations. The same can be said about most of the "Japanese" cars here. I can say this, of the cars running around here in the Midwest US most of them over 15 years old are US built. But parts availability probably plays a big part in that. I can get any part for my F-150 from a quick trip to the junkyard off a wreck. I've had German cars that needed a part that might get shipped from Germany in 6 months & older Mitsubishis needing a simple ignition module that costs over $400. Blur 13 Posted August 4, 2008 When it comes to reliability it must be Europe.
Charger 1 Posted August 4, 2008 I'm gonna say American. The Cadillac, Hummer, Corvette, Viper, Charger, Yukon, Tahoe, etc. There's more.
Sherman 40 Posted August 5, 2008 When it comes to reliability it must be Europe. Anything can be reliable, though. With correct maintenance and not beating the living hell out of your car, anything will last you a long time. Unless its just something horrible... like that Chevy with the rear engine, I forgot what its called >.>
Someonesinyourhouse 0 Posted September 26, 2008 I have to say Europe, but america has done some nice ones, europe probaly has the coolest. I'm not sure where the limo originated from.
Mpilk901 16 Posted September 27, 2008 I'd easily pick American, I love muscle cars. Not so much into those exotic cars. Pontiac, Chevy etc.
Butters! 0 Posted September 27, 2008 America makes practicle, affordable cars, but in Europe (Italy mainly) we make really nice luxery cars like Ferrari's. I would choose Japan if they where an option though, I love Mazda's

Urbanoutlaw 12 Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) History lesson for Sky - Back in the late '50s a Corvette got drunk & woke up next to the ugly girl from the dance, a VW Bug. A few months later she dropped their love-child on Corvette's doorstep & it was names Corvair.
