Making a car not available to the AI

Hi

How do I make it so that the AI doesn't drive a car around in the streets, i.e. like you never see the Hotring Racers on the streets?

I've like to make the phoenix only drivable by me as I'm replacing it with a Trans Am...

(MAKE A BACKUP OF carcols.dat AND vehicles.ide FIRST!!) then you open the vehicles.ide and romove this line: 603, phoenix, phoenix, car, PHOENIX, PHOENIX, null, executive, 10, 0, 0, -1, 0.7, 0.7, 0

now go to carcols.dat and remove: phoenix, 0,0 (if you are using the smokey and bandit trans am) if not the numbers may be different

and BTW every number which is higher than 603 in the carcols.dat should be set a number down like 604 to 603 and so on

Option 2. Open CARGRP.DAT & look for "Pheonix" listed in any of the groups, remove it & they won't show up. I

edited that file to put some of the rare cars in traffic, usually assigned to rival gangs.

So what does the null, ignore part of the line in the vehicle.ide do? I currently have the phoenix set to that and I'm not seeing it being driven by the AI.

That should be under Animations, it just means the game uses a default animation to show CJ getting in/out of a car.

Frequency (Frq) sets how often the car spawns within the groups it's assigned in CARGRP.DAT.

I though phoenixes were never available to AI anyway, besides when CJ chases down Big Papa (or whatever he's called)...

Before I hacked CARGRP.DAT I got mine by taking one of the SF races, driving it to the Dorehety garage & failing the

race. LS Vagos & SF Rifa drive them now.
