this gaming computer is retailing for 11,000 british pounds. W T F, i could buy a new car with taht much lol. the specs are excellent, but not 11000 pounds excellent.

intel core 2 quad qx9650 overclocked 4.4GHz

3 x 1TB samsung spinpoint hard drive

2 x 64GB OCZ SSD

2GB DDR3 RAM (i know, this price and only 2gb)

3 x Nvidia GTX 280 (in 3way SLI)

nothing about liquid cooling though.

i bet you could buy all those parts for half that price.

$1300 intel core 2 quad qx9650 overclocked 4.4GHz

$450 3 x 1TB samsung spinpoint hard drive

$1000 2 x 64GB OCZ SSD

$250 2GB DDR3 RAM (i know, this price and only 2gb)

$2000 3 x Nvidia GTX 280 (in 3way SLI)

1 300 + 450 + 1 000 + 250 + 2 000 = 5 000

You can build it with less than half, and remember it's 5 000 dollars, not pounds ...

However.... You only listed a few parts. You're forgetting the custom case.... What type of cooling does it use? How about, the price of labor to put it together. THEN you have to include the mark-up for profit.....

@Spaz: I wrote the prices only for the parts the OP gave me, plus all I'm saying is you can build your own with far less money, less than half ffs. All the components can't be more than 5 000 pounds ( $10 000+ ), plus I don't think the rest is worth another 6000 pounds. Smart people won't buy this, filthy rich and two digit IQ people will IMO.

to be quite honest if your buying the individual parts one would assume you know a fair amount about computers and wouldnt need to pay for the labour because you can put it togeth yourself...

Never said you had to, I was just pointing out where some of the price is coming from. If you're buying something PREBUILT then you ARE paying for labor, and that's part of that hella expensive price.

Why... watercooling?

I've got a ThermalRight Ultra-120 Extreme and that surely is enough for 4,4 GHz.

But then you've got those cards that need like 700 Watt.. Though they're blowing out most of the heat, these cards get very hot and if the case isn't very 'airy', it's going to get a little hot inside. So in that case liquidcooling would make sense.
