What is your highlight of 2008??

Lets all be honest, there hasn't been much going on this year but the Euro 2008 were good, The Norwich born boxer Jon Thaxton is the European Lightweight champion, Chelsea got beat by Spurs in the Carling cup, USA got rid of Bush.

There has also been a lot of negatives, The credit crunch being the worst.

shittest year ever

Reasons? or are they to personal?

I forgot to mention... GTA IV!!!! and I got a 360.

Also visited the new Wembly (sp?) for the England v Kazakstan match. Awesome day.

More negatives - My local team are doing shit for the 3rd season in a row.

LOLs funny, I'm from Kazakhstan, I'm guessing they got completely destroyed by England? But yeah on topic, this year hasn't been that exciting. I did start weed this year so that counts for me I guess  , but yeah not too great of a year but there's not much to complain about either...

^Oh shit wow, I guess everyone forgot about that one. It seemed so important or 'cool' at the time but now I barely remember anything about it. Cool thing is I live in Vancouver which is where the 2010 Winter Olympics are going to be held. And then opened a speed skating rink 2 minutes away from my house which is going to be used in 2010.

Alot of bad things and alot of good things happened this year to me. I'm going through an important stage in my life with my GCSE's and all so I'm very worried for next year.

I can't really think of the best moment this year for me, part of me wants to say that I've gotten into a boarding school in the UK but it costs alot and my parents are pressuring me.

Oh well, here's to a hectic New Year everyone! :)

Worst thing of the year - Exams

Best thing of the year - Went to the USA in March/April

Best person for me of the year - My Aunt

But overall, the best thing for news of the year is The finish of the American Elections, now we get real TV now, not some Bullshit telling us every five fucking minutes about Barack Obama, John McCain and Hilary Clinton. Now it's all about the economic turmoil.

Overall, the worst thing for news of the year is the Economic Turmoil because I have no money anymore, and I have to keep my money on a bank account to stop me spending it (as you probably know, the price of stuff has went up dramatically over the past year)

I was in the first few months of Uni life entering into 2008, and I finished my 1st year around June 08, with some pretty decent results. The work schedule for my 2nd year is hectic though, not sure if I'll pass this year ATM. The credit crunch was horrendous, causing widespread mayhem around the globe. Shares plummeted, shops that have been around for decades are suddenly closing down due to lack of incoming funds and spiralling costs, food, gas, water, electricity, and pretty much everything else we need every single day rose to very expensive heights, etc. I hope it ends soon, so things get back to normal.

In terms of Sport, the Olympics were an absolute joy to watch, so much British talent winning medals, and the opening and closing ceremonies were the best I've ever seen. No way can London top that in 2012. Euro 2008 was brilliant as well, even though England failed to qualify under the moron Steve McClaren. It was more enjoyable to watch with England not in the competition though, I have to reluctantly admit. Also, Manchester United won the Champions League for the 2nd time in dramatic style - when John Terry stepped up, for me that was it, but when he slipped and missed, my heart jumped back out of my mouth, then almost exploded when Anelka missed and Chelsea lost the shootout.

Films, The Dark Knight was definitely the best film I saw last year, I've watched it about 5 times now, and it just doesn't get boring or predictable, it's amazing. Iron Man was another wonderful action hero movie, excellently paced, with a great story. Wall.E I haven't seen YET - I have it on Blu-Ray, but I've heard it's the best ever Pixar film, so looking forward to that. 2 other films I haven't seen which I own on DVD - There Will Be Blood, and No Country For Old Men, both critically acclaimed. Rambo shocked and entertained in equal measure, but really strong scenes of gore throughout. Indiana Jones returned, although the film was average really, and Quantum of Solace was OK as well, but not spellbinding like Casino Royale was.

Probably one of my funniest moments was when Boris Johnson was elected as London major - the guy is a buffoon! But then again, George Bush was President of America, and he's the most stupid man to have ever existed.

For music, I'm not sure about my favourite album yet, there were quite a few, but Viva La Vida stood out quite a lot - a radical change of sound for Coldplay and probably the best music they've ever produced. There's really too much to talk about, so many reforming of bands - Spice Girls, Guns N Roses, etc, and reunions - Led Zepplin, I'd need a whole day to write a decent round-up.

That's about all I have to say for now, but more things will come to me, I'm sure. Usually in the middle of the night.
