GTA IV vs Saints Row 2

Recommended Posts

SR2 gets the kill shot w/ it's co-op play. Whether it's devaluing property w/ a septic truck, raining hell on the

Brotherhood w/ an attack heli or cleaning out a Ronin basement casino, SR2 co-op just rules & when you're rollin'

w/ the right partner it's easy to overlook SR2's shortcomings.

...With a chainsaw. :awesome:

The first couple of months after SR2 was released I was honestly convinced it was a better game than GTA IV, but then I woke up, and went back to the light.

I wont deny it has more to do than GTA IV, but GTA IV just feels like it had more effort put into it rather than just tacking on as many features as possible. Even SA with its features still felt like there was effort put into it. I just feel with SR2 the developers tried way too hard to outdo GTA.

Anyway in that 2 months I never even finished SR2's story. I've completed IV's multiple times.

So basically a few months ago I would've said SR2 handed GTA IV its ass, but as GTA IV has otten older I've really appreciated the work R* put into it.

Both are great games, but GTA IV IMO is a truer current gen game. SR2 looks, and feels like a PS2/XBOX game quite honestly.

I don't think "Parody" is an accurate term, SR/SR2 has gone in a few different directions that GTA hasn't like the level

of car & character customization. They also had a good idea on dealing w/ "clumping", where you continually see the

same car spawning around you by making that car show up randomly in various conditions w/ different options. You

could see 10 Comptons ('65 Impala) & no two would be the same.

I still maintain that Volition could stand on their own & if anything motivate R* to improve GTA. There's room on the

shelf for both. It's like owning a Cobra & a Corvette.

Scott - Fix that router & hit me up for some quality mayhem, I have a spare APC.
