First impressions of the game

I got it today, and while already im impressed by the vastness, i still have a few...Complaints.

THe handling of cars, for one, is pretty terrible. I crash left right and centre into every car and wall and this that and the other. I've always adapted well to GTA controls and i hope i do so with this, but it will take a while.

Losing the cops is just awkward. Full stop.

Cut scenes seem a bit oo-err. Because there is no audible dialogue and its all read i guess it has a harder time captivating the player and so on.

These are just three things that bother me. To get the ball rolling.

SO, what are yours?

In response to all your points:

I thought the handling was fine, the cars auto-center to the road so unless you keep tapping left/right or there's heavy traffic then you're just a bad driver :P

I loved smashing cop cars out the way to lose them, thought it was a great new way of doing things. I didn't play it for long but I guess it could get annoying. On the DS at least I'd rather be doing that than evading them.

Don't really mind about the cutscenes, it's not a game I'll play to keep me captivated for long periods of time, it's a game I'll play in short stints.

Not sure how you got the game a whole week ahead of release but nice one, I won't be able to play it for another 3 weeks but I'm looking forward to it.

I've noticed that Rockstar have used a number of audio files from Vice City, San Andreas and LCS in CTW. Some cars sound the same as they did in San Andreas, but I can barely tell the difference between cars =\ Also, I seem to bump into Admirals a lot (...)

In a way, I feel as if it's a step backwards in some areas, not because of the graphics but some gameplay elements annoy me *cough camera*

The interface click sounds were obviously from LCS. Well, at least we have GTA on our Nintendo handhelds... :hurrhurr:

I got the game and I have to say, I absolutely love it. I found the handling quite fun, it's entertaining smashing into cars left and right while driving fast. For a DS game I think the graphics are pretty stunning too, the 3D modeling looks real good. The sound is perfect and the radio is fairly good too. I think it's really cool when you put the DS on standby (close the screen) and when you open it, it makes a sound such as "Welcome to the party.". It's much better than I thought.

I also did a rampage which was great fun, burning a bunch of rasta's for money! The drug system works great and is a perfect way to earn money.

So far I'm loving it.

I bought a DS yesterday JUST for this game. I'm glad I did. I LOVE the drug dealing system. I also really like the storyline. It has a sense of urgency like Vice City did.

You HAVE to find Yu Jian

, and there's no time to screw around with things like casinos. Another thing I like about the storyline is

your not just working for money like in some other GTAs. Everything you do has a reason in the storyline.

And, honestly, it doesnt feel like liberty city. I am competant in fidnign ym way around LC.

But this?! Nah man i just get lost.

And when i turn on my sirens, no fool gets outta my way!

Have you ever played GTA IV?

I bought a DS yesterday JUST for this game.

Actually this is also my reason why I buy game gadgets. Only to get all the GTA series. Like my PS3, I only bought it for GTAIV. And now DS for GTA: CW.

How the fuck are you guys this rich, that you just run out and buy consoles for one fucking game? And on top of that, you bought the most expensive console you could get. You could've spent 100-200 dollars less and still played the same exact game.

I found that at the start of the game, your cash supply was very tight and you were usually broke. But after some quick drug dealing I was flowing in money!

^Very true, I started at $700 today and jumped to $13,000 in an hour :D

The game is seriously awesome though, for a Ds game, the graphics are amazing; there are even working shadows. Drug dealing is really fun, to watch the cash flow in and getting all those rewards that get stacked up in your safe house. The cops work perfectly with the Ds, they're not too hard but not too easy. I'm 11.8% done so far :D

Btw, what is that theme song? Not the one with singing in it..

Nah, I'll do anything just to get any GTA games, like buying the original consoles. I'm a GTA addict.

I bought it yesterday along with a DS Lite, and it's so fun. The drug dealing is really cool.

I also like the mingames like making moltovs at the gas stations, and the tattoo parlour minigame. From what I've done of the missions so far this game actually has quite a bit of humour. Huang reminds me so much of Niko.

It sucks though that GTA IV didn't have these features. The drug dealing would've been incredible in GTA IV.
