GTAPlanet 0 Posted August 19, 2009 its a mocumentary about a fictional paper company called DUNDER MIFFLIN in which steve carrel (40 year old virgin) along with john krazinski (away we go) and others all sell paper while taking part in useless waste of time activities haha its the best show since seinfeld! Bear 9 Posted August 19, 2009 I couldn't stand the UK version so I doubt I would like the US show. It just wasn't funny. Also I can't stand the lead actor in the UK one, I can't not remember his name though.
The Bossman 8 Posted August 19, 2009 Ricky Gervais, a worldwide superstar now. And it was funny, but sometimes its humour was lost on people. Many thought it was a real documentary at first, which is exactly what they wanted to do. His observations are just absolutely brilliant.
GTAPlanet 0 Posted August 19, 2009 the US version is totally different and much funnier i promise! check it out at hulu.com
Bear 9 Posted August 19, 2009 I saw him in Extra's which was funny but otherwise I can't stand the bloke.
Chris 246 Posted August 19, 2009 I think Ricky Gervais is hilarious most of the time. UK version of The Office was ok, haven't seen then US so can't compare. I've heard it's actually funnier though which is pretty strange, usually the US remakes of British shows are fucking terrible.
Bear 9 Posted August 19, 2009 They want to make a US version of Shameless which to me just seems weird. Although the US did their own version of Queer as Folk and it has been running much longer then the UK one. The UK one only lasted 2 seasons.
GTAPlanet 0 Posted August 19, 2009 the US one is much more awkward funny if that makes sense many more awkward moments and stupid humor, very funny
WRX22B1998 23 Posted August 19, 2009 yer the US office owns lol. havent really watched the UK one. my friend reckons the UK is better but i dunno, cant compare to dwight bears beats battlestar galactica lolz.

GTAPlanet 0 Posted August 21, 2009 haha yeah i have 59 episodes of it on my MacBook from iTunes lol
Siouxsie 0 Posted August 22, 2009 I love the US version. The UK one never did it for me for some reason. I think it's because Steve Carell (or probably the writers) manages to make his character an idiot as well as sometimes lovable, while Ricky Gervais couldn't make the combination imo. Plus in the US one you see a lot from the rest of the office workers, which didn't happen in the UK one.
WRX22B1998 23 Posted September 3, 2009 haha yeah i have 59 episodes of it on my MacBook from iTunes lol lol @ paying for tv shows i think new season is out in october?
The Bossman 8 Posted September 4, 2009 Did anyone watch the whole night of the 1st season of The Office UK when it was on? It was 3 hours, 6 episodes and had new footage and interviews with Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant and hollywood actors. I watched the last hour, and it was great. I hope they do the same with season 2 at some point.
BlackListedB 89 Posted October 17, 2011 I saw the Ricky Garvais version original on my PSN, since the BluRay on my used system wasn't working, I could only use PSN content for the time being, and of course, you have Hulu and some other new online sources, like Netflix One of the better cast replacements in history, perhaps, The original version just can't compare, but Ricky's still credited with work on both. Red_Squirrel_UK 10 Posted October 22, 2011 I think Ricky Gervais is hilarious most of the time. UK version of The Office was ok, haven't seen then US so can't compare. I've heard it's actually funnier though which is pretty strange, usually the US remakes of British shows are fucking terrible. The US version is definitely funnier. Wish I could say the same for Shameless U.S, what a mockery.. It shouldnt of even happened, what they did was basically take the entire script from the 1st few series.. And Americanized it, same cast..Same plot's and everything.. I guess they can't understand our accent's so they have to make US versions of everything we do >.> But Ricky Gervais is a LEG-END.. I love an Idiot abroad make's me LMFAO
Ivan 20 Posted October 26, 2011 Indeed, you can't complain about Ricky Gervais not being funny, he's hilarious. But yeah, I've been watching the american office and I think it's pretty great, the first episode is brilliant.
