Bear Posted November 20, 2009 Share Posted November 20, 2009 I think they are temperamental, sometimes they would fly very well. Other times they were awful to fly. Gerard Posted November 20, 2009 Share Posted November 20, 2009 When you first enter a Hydra, it is in vertical-takeoff mode. You need to rotate the jets to face the back. Of course, you have to fly vertically first to avoid some obstacles (Unless you fly from an airport), and when you reach the optimal altitude for flying, press numpad 8. Good luck! With a mod? With nothin? How? The hydra flies likea real plane when you have the burners pointed towards the back of the plane. They will be perpendicular to the plane for vertical lift and they will be parallel with the plane to propel it forward. Make sure you take the wheels in, otherwise you will be flying quite slowly. When you are flying correctly, a blue flame will come out of the burners. I've found that if you fly over the naval base in San Fierro, you will get a 5-star wanted level and eventually helicopters and hydras will come after you. It is very hard to get the opposing hydras in your line of sight, but it is possible. I shot several down the last time I tangled with them.
