Huh. Cause since I got my new PC (almost one year, next week) I haven't had an anti-virus (except Avast and AVG, but they were both getting on my nerves and I got rid of them 5 days after installing the PC) nor did I have any problems, never reformatted ether :P If I'd scan my PC right now I'd probably find over 9000 viruses but for one thing anti-virus software will always detect viruses even if you don't have 'em (and free anti-virus software will never detect viruses even if you do have em) and for another, most of the viruses on my PC would probably be the countless torrents I keep seeding :P Plus my PC runs just as well (if not better) since the 1st day I go it. I do maintain it pretty well though, defrag weekly, disk cleaning every 2 weeks, cleaning every month, service every 3 months etc...

Oh and I don't watch porn... on PC.

So did I. Oh well, to stay on topic I haven't used an anti-virus program since the good old days of Windows XP, years and years ago since I bothered to install one. Never got a virus. I don't really know how to get one either since I don't use IE. I don't open attachments in spam email... how the fuck else can I get one?

Excuse me? AVG is one of the better anti-virus programs I've ever had. And to judge a program based on price is ridiculous, ESPECIALLY anti-virus. Norton, anyone? That shit BLOWS HARD.

Right now, I'm using Panda Cloud. But E-Smarts will do worlds better than any program ever can.

How are you liking Panda Cloud? Been using AVG forever, feeling like some change might be nice when I buy my next desktop but it's not really needed. Just want to see my options.

I use AVG anti-virus, but have been almost ruined by 2 virus's over the last year: First, I got the "Thinkpoint" virus before December (I don't feel I need to explain how I got the virus :P) but managed to get a friend to completely clear and re-boot it.

The second time, a few months back while surfing the net, I got one of those "following page needs javascript" messages, but this one was clearly a fake and 2 seconds later I have an un-closable "Windows Recovery" virus across the screen, a pitch black background and all files were supposedly deleted (later, it turned out they were just invisible), With a little help from a good friend of mine (he's on this forum ;) I used anti-malware bytes to scan the computer and incinerate the virus. I personally recommend this program as extra protection.

All anti-viruses blow hard. And like I said you don't need 'em if you know what to open and what not to.

OMG I'M THE 666TH VISITOR I WON CLICK CLICK!

I use AVG free edition and search and destroy + windows firewall, not got a virsus yet.. Well, i did get one but AVG removed it pretty easyily enough.. I also tend to scan every single file i download before i open it

I have Avira but I keep it closed 90% of the time. It's good, too good, that's the problem. Can't f*ckin' crack a game without Avira jumping in. And the ''always ignore'' option actually means ''ignore until I decide you've had enough fun and I'll stop your process again''.
