Someone, a friend I might add who didnt not a great reply from me, shouted across my class "Are you a virgin??" Now im trying to build a sandcastle here (we had a giant sandpit in the theatre, not even joking) my reaction to that was not good. If you're being all tense and tightening up, then yeah, it will probably hurt. The difference in feeling? Well, it's probaby tighter, duh. Also, if you don't use lube, it won't be as wet.
