  1. There is an alternative - SAMI. It allows you to install mods for SA with ease. It also has a feature which allows you to change the names of cars. I would recommend it. But, if you just want to edit the name of the car, then use GXT Editor.

SAMI Doesn't work for that, it only instals a mod, if you put in a custom name, then that's only for the uninstall mod function, not in the game.

I'm trying you way, GTA SA ultimate editor has screwed up my game for the third time in 1 or 2 days :pissedred:

Yah, I would avoid that program if I were you... I started out modding using that program and found it too damn flaky for my tastes. The Notepad feature doesn't work worth a shit for one thing. I made the mistake of doing something with the Trainer feature (despite its warnings) and it really lunched my system - to the point where I had to do some serious registry hacking to fix the problem! Other things were too hit-and-miss for me. Stick to other programs that do the equivalent.

And here's a tip I meant to include in my first post: In GXT Editor, make sure the 'Remember names in .INI' option is checkmarked. This will keep track of names you've found and changed so that the next time you run the program the labels are displayed right away.

Luckely i didn't had that, here it was only that the game wouldn't launch and that all the cars and people disappeared.

I found out my problem with GTX Edit, it was that american.gtx was on read only, I made a back-up, saved it wrong, but now I turned of read only and it works.

  2. I installed some car mods, and now I want to change the names of the cars in the game, so it gets the name of the modded car.

    How can i do this?

TXD workshop didn't do the trick.

Neither did GTA SA Ultimate Editor, that made all my cars disappear.

You need a different program to do that... Look in the downloads for a GXT Editor. Unpack it, run it then choose the 'Open File' option. Navigate to the 'Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\text' folder and click on the 'american.gxt' file. This file is the one that holds all the names for items in the game. Do a search for the original vehicle name then click in the right pane and edit it to say what you want. Make sure you don't change the name in the left pane! Save and exit.

I edited my post, i always confuse those 2.

I tried GTA SA Ultimate Editor again, and this time it worked, and i didn't get all those errors, but thanks for helping

  4. does anyone know how can make a loadscreen? or maybe if i'll give him some images he'll create loadscreen for me?

You will have to edit the LOADSCS.TXD file in your SA\MODELS\TXD directory, using TXD Workshop...

but when i'll open in with this TXD workshop, i'll see all the loadscreen pictures, and i'll can change it to my own pictures?

Select a loadscreen, then press export, edit it, and pres import, or if you already made one, press import and overwrite it, save txd and i think it will work.

All files must be BMP or TGA.

  5. If I see the reactions on youtube, the toy train must be remodelled.

The poster of the video says:

Well guys, I converted it! Unfortunately the model has lost, so I must restart it, but it won't be a long work.

And I must say, i wanna have it to :P
