  1. Looks sweet, Will get it as soon as I install Vice City again. How many servers does VC:O atm?

Not many, at the moment there is 4, but servers are put up and down by its owners all the time. The only server that stays up 100% of the time is Ankeborgs. If it was well more known, it would be much better.

RC2 is being made right now, completely re-written from scratch with all new features and better sync, so hopefully that will raise some attention.

Ankeborgs has just opened a DM server, so anyone who wants to DM... Go nuts:

    IP: vco.abgames.net

    PORT: 2009

    Ankeborgs RPG is:

    IP: vco.abgames.net

    PORT: 2008

  2. I downloaded it and found server empty all the time...

yesterday there wasnt a single player init

Thats because its not that well known. For me it is 8:33pm (+10 GMT), it gets populated at about 10 - 11:00pm.

I will be on soon, as =MS=iKlipse, if anyone wants to join.

VCO (Vice City Online) has been created to enable an online multi-player experience for the PC version of the single-player game, copyrighted by Take Two Interactive Software, Inc., Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (the fourth installment of the award-winning Grand Theft Auto series, created by top game developers at Rockstar Games Ltd. and Rockstar North).

VCO originated as a personal project founded by two companions, ReGeX and Koolio - both of whom are C++ programmers whose shared interests in promoting the positive aspects of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City provide the inspiration for this grand, yet difficult, adventure. Development on VCO began in October, 2007, with RC1 released in March, 2009 and RC1 Patch 1 concluding in April, 2009.

I have beta tested Vice City Online back when it first started in development and I am still a constant player to this very day, all I have to say from my experience is that it is an extremely well made modification. Synchronization is excellent as well as the overall game play.

The scripting engine, for VCO, is LUA which is one of the most simple scripting engines to date... So if you consider on creating a server, LUA makes it much more easier.

If you still love Vice City and enjoy playing it online, I definitely recommend you give it a go.

For a personal recommendation, go to Ankeborgs RPG server. Its a great community and a well developed Role Play script is on its way.

VCO's official site is www.GTAGaming.com/vco and it also has an Un-official (but well maintained) website specially dedicated to this mod. You can visit it at www.vicecityonline.com.

To download this mod, click HERE to be redirected to VCO's download section.

    Enjoy, see you there :P

  4. did you model the player models and car models? cause they were the best thing in my opinion.

The character model isn't mine, they are way beyond my level. I'm yet to even attempt making one yet.

The vehicles... In GTA Style, that Pontiac is from Max-Realms... I suck at making cars at the moment so thats another thing to learn, mine just look like playdo with wheels. In the animation video, those were heavily edited San Andreas vehicles.

  5. Thanks guys :P

Nah I won't be making any TCs or mods, don't really have the time to. Back in the VC days I used to mess around and make a couple of things like attaching mini guns to patriots and changing baseball bats and machetes into axes and poles etc. using Z-modeler and the DFF exporter... Thats like the only modding I have ever done.

Yeah, I wanted to start Modelling at some point but never had the chance and I didn't know what program to use.

I did use 3D studio max 8 for all of them but I wouldn't recommend using it for a starter program as there is a MASSIVE learning curve and some experience would help a lot.

If you're interested in starting then do what I did, a few years ago I downloaded a 3D program called Blender. I became familiar to what things meant and decided to move onto 3D studio max just at the beginning of last year. I haven't been taught by anyone, I have just learnt things as I go and experimented with certain things, the only help I have ever really had was at work experience and that was just for the animation side.

www.blender.org. Its free and probably the best program to use if you're a beginner :)

  6. So I have been doing 3D stuff for just over a year, I rarely do it but I have a few things worth showing off.

My first project, I did this when I was doing work experience back in school. I was at a business that specialized in 3D graphics and animation and I decided to make a little animation of a car chase. I only had 6 days to do it so I didn't have time to create my own vehicles, just a little city and a few other small things. It took 4 days to render every single scene and which I cut down later on. After I put together the video I recorded sound out of GTA: Vice City, I made the cars in Vice City do pretty much the same thing as in the video to get the best outcome so enjoy:

Also, unfortunately, I seem to have lost earlier pictures of the project in the GTAGaming topic that I am C&P these images from.

    Condemned-ish project

    ______________________________________________________________________________

I used to love the game Condemned, so I decided to make a little project and try to improve my skills on creating a more "creepy and isolated" scene. I didn't do much work to it as I pretty much lost interest.

This is my most recent, I decided to make my own type of Ocean Beach and Malibu Club from Vice City. I name things differently to what they are in Vice City but thats all a part of being creative really. Anyway, its GTA related so you should like it.

In this screen shot, I decided to add the Colony Hotel. I dunno why I decided to call it by its real name but I like it. If the PC wasn't lagging like total crap I would have put more work into it:

Damn! I think I would just about shat myself if I saw that pointed at me.

Australia's gun laws suck so I don't have any at the moment, once I get my license I'll get a few but damn... And you just lean on the mustang with your rifle without a care in the world... I'm so jealous.

  8. Hey, I'm iKlipse, not exactly new.. Just through registration. I am 18, I live in Australia, and I'm originally from GTAGaming and I help out on moderation side there and all that so eh.

What else to say.. First of all I love girls (they always come first in the hobbies and interests :hurrhurr: ), music, cars.. Pretty much everything a typical 18 year old likes really. I'm pretty easy going, I don't care about much so in other words I should be a piece of cake to get along with.

GTA... To be honest is really the only game these days that I play, I lost interest in most others over the years. I own them all but I usually play GTA IV and when I do I'm mostly online so if you have a PS3 and want to have a game, my PSN can be found under my signature.

Thats the best I can really do for a self introduction, see yas around!
