I've got the second edition, and I downgraded it naturally. I put in some new cars which all work fine, and I used a mod to stop the timers in the submissions (vigilante, taxi, etc.) that replaced the main.scm and script.img files. I know they're part of downgrading, but they had no effect on anything else in the gameplay when I changed them. I've tried switching these files back to the V1 incarnations but I get the same result. And the game doesn't load up with the V2 files.
Basically I just got to the part where I'm dating Denise. She asks me in for coffee, I reply positively, the screen goes black and never comes back. Any idea what is causing this, how I might be able to fix it or at least work around it? So far everything else has worked fine.
Any help would be significantly appreciated.
