hype
Hi All I'm new to the site love the Mods !! I’ve had Vice city on the PS2 since time began its defiantly taken a few years off my life !! Ive switched to PC now to use some of the Mods I’ve been hearing so much about .. Vice City is easily the best game engine I've ever encountered.. I’m blown away by the detail and playability of the game ...BIG thanks to Chris who has been really helpful ..cheers Mate… I am having trouble downloading the MODS (I’m itching to see some new cars on vice !) I’ve down loaded the VCMM mod manager and followed the instructions extracted the files to the VVCM folder. I can see the files in the manager, when I highlight the car and click install it brings up the window displaying the cars to install over but when I chose a car it gives me an error message (Below) Installing... Checking file flags... Loading Script... Processing commands... image_addfile( \models\gta3.img, oceanic.dff ); FATAL - Cannot open file C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\models\gta3.img- Installation will now halt. Generating Uninstall Info... All Done If I double click on the car file I get ..the error message “Tprogressbar property out of range” then it frezes up Please Help
Pandora
If ya have a shared com, it might be that you don't have the privelge to interfere with program files, if so. Re-install in your on acount, like: C:/...Hype/my documents/my games/rockstar or gta/ gta san andreas or something like that

Gerard
Jace, he's using Vice City, not San Andreas. He can install the game, but is having trouble adding mods. Nah the problem is that the gta3.img file is set to be read-only. Just navigate to: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\models\gta3.img Right click on it, click properties, UNtick read-only, and try again. Gerard
Make sure that that is where VCMM thinks gta3.img is, you haven't installed it with a different folder name or anything? Other than that, have you installed any other mods? Has it stopped working or never worked? Does the game work?

I havent installed anyother mods, Ive tried 3 so far but all failed. all with the same error message.. I,m using a Logitech game controler pretty standard stuff...i'll double check the folder situation as I think I may have created another folder within the vcmm foledr then saved the files into it ....cheers

Gerard
Yeah you'd be better off using IMG tool, putting the TXD and DFF into the gta3.img yourself, then editing the other files (vehicles.ide, handling.cfg, carcols.dat etc) according to what it says in the readme and the other help topics on this forum.
