JAB HacksouL
Anyone know how I can change the Gang tags to another kind of font and rename them? Gang Tags are not a font but an actual graphic or picture you can edit. Download the TXD Workshop and you can export the tags as TGA or BMP images to edit. The file names inside the GTA3.IMG are: TAGS_LAVAGOS.TXD TAGS_LATEMPLE.TXD TAGS_LASEVILLE.TXD TAGS_LAROLLIN.TXD TAGS_LARIFA.TXD TAGS_LAKILO.TXD TAGS_LAFRONT.TXD TAGS_LAAZTECA.TXD TAGS_LALAE.TXD TAGS_LAVAGOS.TXD Each one of these has an Alpha Mask the mask is black and white the white parts show through the black parts are transparent. You just simply export the tag you want to customize or import the tag you have customized. JAB
Charger
I used Workshop, but when I opened those txd files, all I get is blue or purple colors. I don't see the graffiti writing, I would like to edit. Edited January 18, 2009 by Charger
JAB HacksouL
I used Workshop, but when I opened those txd files, all I get is blue or purple colors. I don't see the graffiti writing, I would like to edit. The image will be a solid green or purple color. You want the ALPHA IMAGE, to see it press the at the bottom where it says ALPHA/MASK click there. Now it should be a white on black image. Click the export and choose a format like BMP or TGA. After you edit the file import but make sure you are on ALPHA/MASK before you import. JAB
Charger
Ok, when I do replace the Graffiti writing I get this image: How do I make it right?
JAB HacksouL
Ok, when I do replace the Graffiti writing I get this image: How do I make it right? What software are you editing the alpha with? I use the Gimp a lot and I keep forgetting that not everyone is on the same page as I am. But the program exports the image as true color and you will need a graphic program like Photoshop or Gimp etc.. that can convert the image to 8 bit Grayscale. Instead of a palette it will be 256 shades from black to white. Gimp is freeware and I admit is tough to understand. Here are some others (easier to use) if you need them otherwise look in your own graphic program for a convert to Grayscale setting. Serif Photo Plus 6.0 - Easy but you have to register but it is 100% free. DXT Bmp - Very easy to use and freeware too. JAB

JAB HacksouL
Custom Grafitti Tags Run the TXD Workshop HOW TO EXPORT A TAG A. Scroll down to this position or you can press T a lot. B. Select either the Coverup Tag or the original. C. Switch to Alpha/Mask mode. D. You can now export this Tag's Alpha image as a BMP. I made these two images the first one is a True Color gradient fill. The other is a grayscaled image for the transparent parts. If you are using Photo Plus then to convert the image all you need to do, click Image, Adjust, Grayscale. All graphics programs work differently so you might have to look in your help files. IMPORTING THE NEW TAG Note: Never rename the images or it won't work, leave the names the same as you found them. A. Switch to Alpha/Mask. B. Import your alpha image. C. Switch to Image view. D. Import the image. E. You can preview your custom tag art in Mixed View. F. Don't forget to SAVE! JAB Edited July 9, 2009 by JAB HacksouL
