I got the game working by loading the backup so at least I can play. Is there any reason why none of the mods allow the game to play?

Hey, I just picked up a copy of SA for PC and tried to add a car skin using SAMI and now I can't get passed the halfway point in the initial load screen. I have v 2.0 and was able to play just fine prior to installing the skin; is there anything I can do?
