no, the other game that i have is Flight simulator so far, but it hasn't given me any error messages or anything

Hi, Whenever i try to open up san andreas, i get a message saying 'Grand theft auto SA requires at least directX version 9.0' but i have directx 9.0c and however many times i try to reinstall direct x it still wont open up GTA i just reinstalled my operating system from media centre edition to XP professional, but now i have two separate drives; C, which contains the backup data for my sony laptop and D which is the one i use and was wondering if this can cause the problem
