  1. Learning one of the romance languages will significantly help you in understanding the rest, so that's a pretty good idea. Maybe not so much understanding it when it's spoken, but when in France and Canada I could understand most of the French signs and whatnot because I know Spanish. So Italian will surely help you out in more than just Italy!

  2. 'It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum..... and I'm all outta gum'.

'Damn, those alien bastards are gonna pay for shooting up my ride!' - Duke Nukem 3D. All the Duke Nukem quotes were taken from films, I think, so they weren't original, but I found them memorable all the same.

    I got BAAAAALLLLS of steel

  3. If you're going to watch porn, at least do it right. A PSP has such low resolution, you're cheating yourself out of glorious high definition skanky women in fishnets and two foot tall plastic platform shoes.

The best solution: Mac or Linux! :P

  4. The hot babes thread has over 100,000 views more than any other stickied topic in this forum:

And at any given moment you can see several of these entries in the "Who's Online" section:

    :hurrhurr:

Thank you, TheGTAPlace, for holding this scientific experiment!

(The #2 viewed thread at GTAGaming is "New Vida Guerra pics" I think :P)

  5. Are you guys listing languages you're fluent in, or ones in which you know a bit of?

Hmmm well to clarify my list:

    - Fluent in English

    - Advanced Spanish (took up four years of high school I better know some fucking Spanish! It's handy in Los Angeles, too)

    - I can understand most Armenian, but have trouble speaking it. I can read and write it perfectly, though

    - I can understand and speak beginner to intermediate Russian as well as read and write it very well. I'm studying Russian at my university so my skills in it will improve over time.

    - I know random words here and there in other languages (Greek, Korean, Tagalog, Polish, German) mainly because of music I listen to, countries I've visited, or friends that speak those languages fluently

Also I'm on the same page as you Chris, I can pretty much identify any language if I see it used (even the scary Asian ones!)

  6. Religion is a bunch of unanswerable questions supported by faith and circular logic. God is an infallible concept, but unlike all other infallible concepts He is taken seriously! I don't see what you guys are arguing about, there's no way to prove or disprove such things, it's all just personal taste. If you need an opiate like religion to give your life some meaning, then that's fine with me - but I don't buy into it.

As for whether or not the "six days of creation" are "Earth days" - obviously they aren't. It has been proven that the Earth is billions of years old and animals have been roaming the planet long before us.

  7. Well, we're still here, so the thing obviously didn't do its job!

On a more serious note, I'd be interested to see the results of this experiment, does anybody know if anything was released? Did they even set it off? :P

  8. Meanwhile, one of the few things we do know about

Obama is that he has several questionable affilliations (Rev. Wright, etc.) & that even though he's running on a ticket

based on "taking care of everybody" his own brother lives in a 5'x9' shack lacking even an outhouse & has a yearly

income of about $12. He wants to take of me & mine but he can't send his own brother a lousy $20, WTF!?

The "evil" Republican McCain bought his wife's aunt a condo.

That is probably the most ridiculous paragraph I've read regarding the candidates. I'm not even going to shed light on the Rev. Wright crap because it's just that - crap. The media will use anything to put down these candidates and convince braindead television viewers of their outrageous "news."

As for the deal about Obama's brother and McCain buying a condo for his aunt... that's wonderful. But some of us don't want yet another elitist rich white man to run the country. Obama's brother isn't in pain - he lives in Africa, and he chooses to live this way because he probably knows that life has more to offer than a nice condo in American suburbia.

I'm sorry if I want to see this country head in a new direction. I know change is scary for some.

Also, let me add that I read your story at the beginning of the post, and I understand your frustration. I don't, however, think that the laziness in workers that you experienced was at all a result of Democrats in charge or the country they aim to build. I'd blame it on the culture and personal work ethic of those involved. I come from an immigrant family which owes a majority of its success to the middle class working world and the social groups/unions formed that serve to protect them, which are organizations supported by Democrats. My culture is to work hard and have intrinsic motivation, not tempted by the fact that I could get away with doing a lesser job since I'd just be cheating myself. This is completely personal, and not something I'd attach to party affiliation.
