  1. Here's advice to Rogue on your Crysis testing. It's best you keep graphics settings low I just went through a 45 minute Crysis demo run on my computer and the max graphics i got on 1152x864 is all Medium and no AA. According to Fraps, the lowest FPS was 23 on my setup and the highest was 43. If you use the exact same settings i did on your computer, you'll struggle to break the 20's. 1152x864 on my setup on medium and no AA is the highest quality playable frame rate i got on Crysis.
  2. I have a single core like yours but it's much better Athlon 64 3500 2 GB dual PC3200 DDR ram 9600 GT KO I have the free demo to try out myself later at my favorite 19 inch viewable resolution 1152x864. It'll fly on the lowest settings and I think it can take medium settings
  3. What does higher settings mean though. my resolution is conservative compared to the average gamer but can i max the settings out? An 11x8 resolutio that will prob. turn 12x9 if i get a non widescreen 21 inch lcd. At the least i made a hell of a choice changing from 7950 GT to 9600 GT KO. TF2 and HL 2 kicked relative ass at max settings for a single core CPU
  4. What i want to know is if this game will be heavier on the GPU or the CPU. I only have a single core paired with a 9600 GT. For those that wonder i'm only at 1152x864 resolution so the playing at 25x or 19x resolution is a nonissue
  5. My GTA 4 upgrades all arrived today and this is what i'll go to war with in addition to the above a new 450 watt PSU, a DVD writer that can read dual layer EVGA 9600 GT KO I will play the game at 1152x864 resolution. I just played Team Fortress 2 now with everything maxed and it's terrific and GTA 4 ready.
  6. The card itself i know my mobo will take. The PSU should be enough but incase it's not, it's only 20 dollars
  7. Update I ordered a DVD burner that can read DL discs which is what GTA 4 is Along with that i ordered a 450W RAIDMAX power supply which has 21 on the 12v I won an auction for a EVGA 9600 GT KO so i hope it works on my mobo and the power supply can take it. Its minimum is 400W on a 26 on the 12 volt line
  8. I plan to run it on 11x8 because while my monitors native is 12x10, i was used to how 10x7 looked on my old monitor that when i changed it, i kept the orientation. 18 inch flat viewable 10x7 19 inch lcd 11x8 Like i said I passed the Crysis minimum requirements and the max ones for GTA 4 are less than Crysis
  9. ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe BIOS 1010 mobo Athlon 64 3500 2.38 GHz Performance Rated at 3.50 GHz Vista 2 GB DDR dual channel ram 6800 GT PCI-EX 256 DDR3 DX10 2 120 GB hard drives DVD+RW drive That is my specs right now and it passes Crysis minimum requirements (PC requirements benchmark) so it should pass minimum for GTA4 There will be no changes to CPU, HD and memory, only get a DVD DL drive As for the video card Right now i have a 7950 GT 512 DDR3 won at EBay for 55 dollars waiting for me so that'll be an upgrade. I wonder if it'll be enough, if not i don't know if i can get a 9600 due to being a 3.5 year old mobo and 3 year old BIOS
