  1. This motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813188039 Would the Dell be able to play it?
  2. $952.94 with tax. Not buying from DELL, but an authorized DELL distributor and I have a coupon. I don't need a monitor (I have two), or a Keyboard/Mouse (I have a Logitech MX5500). The way I priced it all out, it would be almost exactly the same price to buy a 920, a motherboard, RAM, a copy of Vista x64, and a case/psu. This way, I can simply transfer my two hard drives (my 400GB 7200RPM SATA drive, and my 1.5Tb 7200RPM SATA drive plus the 750GB 7200RPM drive it comes with) and be good to go.
  3. I may end up buying a Dell Studio XPS 435. Specs look good: i7 920 6GB DDR3-1066 750GB 7200RPM SATA HDD HD4850 w/ 512mb Not a bad overall setup. Plus it saves me time.
  4. Thanks Raybob, I have been considering getting a new mobo and processor. I was thinking about the i7 920 or 940. Any opinion on either? The 940 is $$$ compared to the 920. Is a quad-core 2.66GHz sufficient, or would the 2.93GHz be better suited? I also plan on using WinXP Ori x64 and 12GB of 1066 RAM with the new mobo setup I've got a 400GB 7200RPM main harddrive (WD Caviar) and a 1.5Tb 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda backup. What do you think?
  5. Update: At the absolute lowest settings, the game still barely plays. What gives? Is it my processor?
  6. I'm having some issues with the game. My specs are as follows: 4GB DDR2 RAM Hyperthreaded P4 @ 3.00GHz Diamond Radeon HD4670 (1GB DDR3 version) WINXP x32 SP3 Even at the lowest game settings, it doesn't seem to keep up. I'd say it is barely tolerable. The only thing I can think of is that I'm running dual monitors and maybe that has something to do with it? The game only plays on one of them (at 1280x976) In the memory usage section, under max everything, it says I'm using 839 of 999MB. Looking at the specs comparing the video card I have to the nVidia Geforce 9600GT, it looks like my card has ~28.8GB/sec memory bandwidth and the 9600GT has 56GB/s transfer rate. I'm also not positive that my PCI-e slot is x16, it might be x8, which would half the bandwidth right there. Could that be it? What gives? The game IS pegging out my processor. It runs @ 95% and in the 10 minutes I played, climbed some 15 degrees F. Input?
