I think i've sorted the problem now. I've found the right settings that allow me to play smoothly I think it was being slow loading the textures from the HDD ...

I had the same issue in january (so older drivers then too) back then i had a 2.13GHz Dual core and 2GB memory with the same issue...

no luck with Vista SP2 compatability mode EDIT: nor xp sp3

Thanks for your reply I've just tried that to no avail. Mine starts stuttering as soon as you enter the game, not after a period of time. I tried memrestrict on lowest with lowest resolution and graphics/texture settings but it still stutters an equal amount. any other ideas?

Hi All, Having some issues with the game stuttering on my PC.. here are the specs: i7 920 2.66GHz ATi HD 4870 1GB 6GB RAM Win7 x64 Latest graphics drivers and patched to 1.0.4.0 Any ideas? the game is only just playable, but its quite difficult when you're trying to drive and it freezes for a second or so every 6 seconds (approx) thanks RoB
