Changed my resolution settings in-game, it stopped the lagging. I think I fixed the mod problem.

If I run it on lowest settings it doesn't lagg as much, and if I try to install a mod, the game doesn't start up. Is this because of update 1.0.7?

Hmmmm, my computer is deffinately able to run the game, but no matter what I put the graphics settings at, it lags... What is the problem? Is there a way to fix?

GTA IV just came in the mail today, and when I went to install it, I got a CRC Error message when it was trying to copy a certain file. So, I aborted, and tried installing it again, same thing on a different file. I tried installing it like 20 times now trying all kinds of different things but nothing will work. There is a minor scratch on the disk but I don't think it is the problem because once it went through the whole first CD without an error, but there was an error when I changed disks. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, will GTA IV run on windows 7? Also, I tried using compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3. Here is a screenshot of an example of the error I keep getting :
