  1. I've done some searching and came up empty. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I'm looking for a dff/txd editor. One that displays a list of all the dff's or txd's and shows them in a preview, and allows me to edit the look of them. This exist?
  2. Can someone post link me to, or post a list of what all of the .txd's and .dff's are? Like if I change out example.txd, what was the original example.txd in the game? a list like, m4.txd - m4 assault rifle bat.txd - baseball bat etc.. The reason I want this is because, I've changed my player's skin a few times, but I don't know what to do to make CJ wear that skin. the files I replaced were in the gta.img, and they were wmycd1.txd/dff. It's the District 9 Chris alien skin. I changed out those files, but I'm still not him?
  3. I've figured this all out, so if a moderator wants to delete this, go ahead please. I can't edit it for some reason.
  4. To get rid of that shitty looking chrome car look: Follow these steps. First, go watch this video. It explains how to downgrade your version of san andreas (which causes problems) Use the provided download links files in the description. He doesn't say it in his video, but you want to replace gta_sa.exe with gta_sa_compact.exe. The gta_sa.exe he provides didn't work for me, so I'm going off of that.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkYJZMleibs If you don't have it, grab SAMI here http://www.mediafire.com/?9sx13kw16pb62l6 OK so what I did: 1st I downgraded my gta, the file you want to put in your \gta san andreas folder will be called gta_sa_compact.exe. It's a non-wide screen version of the game, but it's worth it because it fixes many game play problems. 2nd, Grab this: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q7NJ50W4. It's a ported version of cider pre-set up for GTASA. Basically, just take your whole Rockstar Folder, copy it, and paste it into the c-drive, just like cider, you should already know this. If you don't, after you download that, unzip it or whatever you have to do, right click it and click show contents. Then navigate to this: contents\resources\transgaming\cdrive\*put rockstar folder here* After that, you have to edit the plist.info to make it run gta_sa_compact.exe, and then it should be able to just run right away, because the cider port is pre-set up with the correct path names. so open plist.info (which is located in the "contents" folder) file with textedit and there should be a line that says <string>C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\GTA_SA_COMPACT.exe</string>. If it says \gta_sa.exe change it. Save, close, run gta. Installing mods with SAMI is pretty self explanatory. But if you need it, here's a video on what to do, with that exact file that I linked earlier: Now remember, this seems to only work for adding vehicles. Also, PUMA's hoverboard mod DOES NOT WORK, so don't bother... still mad about that I think the only way us mac users are going to be able to add mods to SA other than cars, is going to be by using a mac version / cider ported IMG Tool 2.0. I've been looking for one of these non-stop, but can't seem to find one. If anyone knows where I can get that or a similar program, that would be a blessing.
  5. Not here to start a flame war between mac and pc, just looking for some info. I've tried using the search to find all the info I need, but I'm coming up short. Plus for some reason the search on this site won't even let me search for "mac mods".... Anyways, I'm running a downgraded version of SA through Cider on my mac. I can get SOME car mods to work with a ported Cider version of SAMI. (http://www.mediafire.com/?9sx13kw16pb62l6 <-- you can download that here) The problem I'm having is that some of the mods crash the game, regardless of what I switch the cars out with, and it's mainly motorcycles. I really wanted the hoverboard mod, but it won't work and idk why. My other problem is that I can't do basically any other mods because I can't find a gd mac version of IMG Tool 2.0! I saw a video where some kid had modded his Mac version SA, and he said he used IMG Tool 2.0 to do it, and of course didn't explain how the hell he got img to run on his mac. So basically, I'm looking for any info as to how people do mods on macs. Either with or without using IMG Tool. I really want to change skins and all sorts of other things about my gta but it's frustrating not being supported. God knows I wouldn't want to have to go play on my windows machine... I really want that fckin' hoverboard mod! lol thanks in advance
