  1. I'll just quote this from PS3Forums.com where I originally posted it. Never again, Amazon.ca/Canada Post. Never again.

After you delayed Gran Turismo 5 Prologue by about 4 days, you said it would never happen again. Well... it did. I wasn't as hyped for Prologue and as I am for Grand Theft Auto IV and now I may not be able to play it until May 5th.

    Here's the story.

I pre-ordered Grand Theft Auto IV from Amazon.ca back in December 2007 and it shipped Monday, April 28th, 2008. Canada Post says 1-3 business days for express shipping, which would make the delivery date either today (April 30th) or tomorrow (May 1st). I was pretty ecstatic to be guaranteed the ability to play Grand Theft Auto IV over the weekend. Well... I guess hyped killed me because now the shipment is delayed. The package is in St. John's (the capital city of the province) which isn't that far away and they are saying that now I must wait until Monday, May 5th to receive it. Wow, so that's three extra business days to drive a few hundred kilometers?

Thinking this must be a mistake, I called Canada Post. Here's a hint for the people thinking about calling Canada Post. Don't. You won't get anywhere. After waiting on hold for a few minutes, I spoke to a person who I won't name, no matter how tempting it really, really is. Someone was a little cranky and she went to her supervisor while I waited for an additional 20 minutes on hold. She came back and said that because there was flooding in St. John, New Brunswick, I wouldn't get my package. Oh, and apparently there was flooding in St. John's, Newfoundland too! Wow, didn't see that yesterday when I was there.

Maybe Canada Post should get their cities right because St. John, New Brunswick and St. John's, Newfoundland aren't the same city... and it would be really ironic if they were both flooding at the same time. But wait... they are the same city? I guess I'm pretty stupid considering I'm from St. John's (Newfoundland).

Yeah, so while there's flooding 1000km away in New Brunswick, my parcel is delayed in Newfoundland (which is past New Brunswick and is where I live). My package is coming from the west and flew over NB yesterday fine. Take a look at this picture. The black dot is St. John's (Newfoundland) and the pointer is pointing to New Brunswick.

So yeah. It's not only GTA I'm worried about. I have several other more important packages that I absolutely need for school on Friday that I probably won't get for another week thanks to Canada Post.

So much for priority customer service, Canada Post. Oh, and with that horribly expensive amount of money you charge to ship a small parcel, maybe you should buy your customer service representatives and supervisors some Canadian geography books. The 2 year old down the street knows more about New Brunswick than they do.

*wipes sweat off face* That feels better.

  2. My wrists get extremely sore if I use the PS3 controller with racing games that use R2/L2 for acceleration/brake... do you think Grand Theft Auto IV will use those triggers for driving or do you think there will be another controller layout? I'd like to see a similar layout to that of previous GTA games...

  3. That's no surprise. It's EA up to their annual releases again.

I just hope the new NFS will go back to what Underground was. But I hope they don't name it Underground 3.

I'd rather them re-do Hot Pursuit 2 with better graphics and more courses and vehicles then have another Underground type game.

I agree. I wish they'd go back to the roots of the series and build a Need For Speed game that's actually good. I liked Underground (1) but from then on, the series went on a constant downfall.
  4. I'd like to see a totally revamped (new streets, totally new layout but same concept) Vice City. Bright lights, Florida-style... maybe they could model Miami more realistically.

  5. Imagine your chillin out with Roman, some woman is following you, and then Niko says, "this crazy bitch has been following me for days now." I think it's time for some brutal euphoria. It would be cool if they let you have one night stands, under my control Niko would get more pussy than a pack of lesbians. (Like Haze said, "no more fugley bitches!")
That would be the San Andreas controversy all over again.
  6. I expect MAJOR server load problems with some of the larger gaming sites like IGN and Gamespot and a large spike in activity on GTA forums too tomorrow.

You can quote me when you get a "Connection to server timed out" message on some big site with all the info. If anyone remembers when Messenger Plus Live! was released... yeah. :P

  7. Jared. Don't go throwing shit around, saying i'm stuck up. The reason i made that text so large was for the benefit of neonfire, not the Original poster, not anybody else. Including you.

The way neonfire posted (and, for that matter, the original poster) seemed to be ignorant to the fact that it was a simple rumour. I took the time to read the full article, which wasn't actually too long, and, as far as i can tell, it was constructed to make you read all the way to the end, when it told you it was just a rumour. Anyway, enough about how well the article was written, quote the part of my post where i said that rumours were restricted.

Also, don't go around telling me to capitalize every singe 'I' in my posts, it's not the kind of thing i read through my post and correct every time, i'm far too lazy.

Also, in the possessive context, you should have used 'their' not 'there', as 'there' implies placement, not possession.

    :)

Whoa, making a sarcastic comment about Jack Thompson meant that I actually acknowledged this as the truth and not just a rumor? Give me a break.

I read the entire article. I read the part that said it was a rumor and I wasn't "ignorant to fact that it was a simple rumor".

Telling someone that they aren't using correct grammar after complaining about that person mentioning your capitalization is a little ironic too.
