Xbox 360 Controller for Windows and Configuration

Hello, I have a Xbox 360 Controller for Windows, and this game as i have it in this forum as im not an idiot, well that debatable, anyway, i have checked the settings and its working fine, but i cannot assign my D-pad to anything, so i cant play as i want, i also cant assign my right stick (not click) for looking, when im in the redefine controll screen, if i try setting D-pad, it does nothing, any idea's as the default setup is rubbish, i have start as target ad b as shoot, and i also cant assign the triggers to anything either, making heli flying hard, any help or ideas?

im not sure that the 360 control is supported for vice city, considering that 360 wasnt even around when vice city came out

that's probably why its a weird configuration etc.

i'd be happy it works at all.
