Arge_101
Hi, I just started adding mods today and I'm having a bit of trouble. I've read through the faqs and I can't figure out what is going on so maybe I'm forgetting to do something small? When using the Img Tool, I open up gta3.img and extract the original files to a backup folder. I then delete the original files and replace them with the new files. I then rebuild the archive. However, when I go into the game, nothing has changed. No Mcdonalds where Well Stacked Pizza is, no hoverboard in replace of the Faggio etc. I've also used VCMM for some car modding. The first one worked fine and I can now drive a Lamborghini Diablo around instead of the Oceanic. However, once again no other cars have changed. I dunno what I'm missing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
WRX22B1998
vcmm is retarded lol. same for me, it worked for 1 mod then didnt wanna work. as for the other mods not working...i have no idea lol. that makes no sense. make sure you've made the gta3.img NOT read only (uncheck the box in files properties). but that is reallly weird. the only thing i can think of is reinstall and try again. Arge_101
Many thanks for the help. Have tried reinstalling both the Vice City game and VCMM without any success. Am running the game on Windows Vista. Therefore have to change the compatibility mode to Windows XP v.2 and install the patch for VC 1.1. does anyone know if this will have any cause as to why I cannot use either VCMM or IMGTOOL to install mods. Also, do you think I will have the same problems with a copy of SA? Have heard that the mod installation version of SA is different to VC so will happily get a copy of SA if this means that I can add mods. Anyone got any insite into whether that will work? Many thanks in advance Arge
