need help crashes with saved game

i have version 2 got the downgrade patch goes good i get a saved game file download it stick it in the right file then its there on game i click on it it loads up then cuts out and says error report anybody help me out asap thanks

hey i think your problem is that you got a v2 savefile, and your trying to load it with a v1 savegame.

OR wherever you got that save file, they were using script mods (main.scm mods) and so wouldnt work. OR you are using script mods.

or you put a vehicle mod incorrectly and its crashing.

Till now the game was working fine on my laptop which has vista installed on it. While playing one of the missions "are you going to san fiero" the screen goes blank after the cut scean and there is this error message saying that, "gta_sa.exe has stopped working". I am still getting the same message at the same point where i reach the same mission even after i tried reinstalling the game. I tried all i could, but nothing seems to be working out for me. I do not know what further to do, to make this game start working again. I do not know for sure what the problem could be so can anyone please help me out of this situation.
