macorules94
Can I ask why is post count turned off in the General Discussions? In every other forum, it does add to your posts. So why not here? Will it be like that forever?
TM™
It's not. The only forum which has the post count disabled is the Fun & Games forum, obviously due to the fact that there's so many random topics in their. For that sub-forum, the post count will be disabled forever. If post counts were enabled in that forum, any person can have a decisive advantage in getting their post count up. So there's a reason why that forum has post counts disabled. Hope it helps.

Gerard
Just like it says on the description of those subforums: "Post count will not increase in here." I think as well just as having an unfair "advantage" (in being able to easily increase your post count), it's also to stop people spamming (which they might do in order to get their post count up). Even though post count isn't used for anything, many people see it as a status symbol and will go to extreme lengths to inflate it, which often is detrimental to the forum (eg if they spam). The Fun & Games subforum is largely unmoderated. We'll deal with any incidents of fighting, porn etc, but we don't react to one-word posts like the rest of the forum. This lets people post what they want without filling the rest of the forum with crap
