Xbox Live! / PC Games for Windows

I haven't been away from Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption in awhile, but I am just getting started online with XboxLive for the first time ever, picked up a headset and have been using a USB keyboard since I got sorted with a new GamerTag. Judging from starting all over again, none of my gaming history is really attributed to the Live Gamertag yet, but I hope to see friends and some enemies perhaps, online in XBL

I will need tips and in-sight as to how Games for Windows on PC works, when I look at Gamertags from my console, I see GTA4 PC listed, for example. Never looked into details when I was dialup, even though I signed on to YouTube before I had broadband and made use of that service with Dialup back in the day!

I am also not sure where we have a topic for this, General Gaming subject, rather then specific to GTA.
