I would say it does not live up to the hype because the hype was unbelievable. And the game is damn good, but not unbelievable.

He is 100% NOT Russian. Theres a bit of dialogue in the game, where he himself says He is NOT Russian. I'm just gunna throw out Bratislava.
But the bottom line is R* just wants us to think hes from a Soviet nation.

I can already tell this question will be plaguing the forum until their servers are upgraded. I think R* really messed up. They knew this game was going to be a blockbuster, so they should have bought servers that could handle as many clients as they made games.

Haha I like that contrasting picture with the 2 helicopters. But yeah I wasnt ragging on the graphics, they definetly are good. I mean its a game on the 'next generation consoles'. It couldn't be bad. Well it could but you know what I mean.

I think the AI could be improved. Such as cops running over pedestrians, committing crimes in close proximity to cops without recieving stars (however this usually works out to our favor). I also get really pissed when driving because its so hard to control, even with the L2 and X brake (ps3).

I'm just gunna generalize off what I remember, but I am about 10% in, which has taken me like 2 odd hours. Maybe halfway to 3?

I was a little let down by GTA IV's graphics. I knew they were not going for the 100% realism like a game like Call of Duty 4, but more of an animated look or something. But even when I am playing through an HD Pioneer Elite 1080p (or 'I', dont remember) I sometimes notice white fuzziness along some edges (not often), and I also notice that sometimes peoples faces look a tad different from scene to scene. And eye sockets and their eyeballs tend to look bizarre. I play Playstation 3 and I have to say it seems like R* did not take advantage of the consoles full potential. Don't get me wrong, the graphics are good, all games on the new consoles these days are, but I was just a tiny bit let down.

Well I don't think its safe to say 'When you are at 60.4%...' because you can be at different completion percentages and do missions in different orders.
But as for the glitch who knows, maybe there is going to be a huge recall. That would suck horribly for R* but I am sure they are making an ass ton of money.

I got GTA IV!!! I have had a 100 - 104 fever the last 3 1/2 days, so my mom went out and bought it for me. Now I can start grinding missions and get ahead of all my friends/ all kids who attend school!

I think everyone should start posting where they live, their ISP, and the time they tried to login to the multiplayer mode.
I live in Southern California... I have Time Warner Cable (formerly Adelphia), and well, I tried to login all damn day yesterday (12:00 pm - 10:00 pm)
This way we might be able to get a time frame of the peak hours, although I realize this game is ridiculously popular and will probably have 'peak' hours 24/7 for the next few weeks.

Is it just me or does it seem like everytime Rockstar shows something related to the game, its for the X-Box 360 console. For example, I was looking at the multiplayer PDF file for help since it wasn't connecting, and the X-Box controller is in full color. I scrolled down a little bit and the PS3 controller was a fucking black and white 'blueprint'. Then I was browsing around either rockstar.com or grandtheftauto4.com (can't remember) and they had a link to buy the game for consoles, and it was the X-Box game case. I scrolled down to see if there was one for PS3, but there indeed was not. Now I could be mistaken, but what do you guys think? Is Microsoft shelling out some dough to be seen as the console of choice for playing GTAIV?

Yea I am definitely not going to cheat. I bought the game to play it, not to cheat it. After I beat it however, I will unlock all the guns, ammo, and vehicles I desire.
