Congrats are in order, and I hope it's not another 5 years between games, at the most, I hope for that time frame to be cut down considerably! haha

If that time is spent creating a game as amazing as GTA V, I'm perfectly happy waiting another five years for GTA 6. And I really doubt I'm going to be the only person on this website to feel that way.

Ultimately it's not THAT far removed from GTA IV, using elements of RDR mostly, not that that's bad in any way, but the detriments that still exist, as I pointed out with car collisions, and some minor handling, planes seem near to non-existent in the skies overhead, you can hear and not see elements around you, but that maybe due to sound design not taking into account visuals, I'll point out as well; the sound of planes close by or lawn mowers running, I've seen them lying dormant as yard fixtures but no actual peds mowing. It's still early though.

Crashing a car, let me give an example, in the USA any production car has to pass safety standards, have certification and can often encounter severe penalty if it's deemed unsafe, in crash testing speeds of 5 MPH do produce damage, and speeds under 50MPH can also cause severe cost damage to your wallet. I've owned 6 cars, in about 20 years or so of driving, I know this stuff first hand. In GTA gaming, you don't get anything like real-life in that regard, not that GTA should be the Sims, but we hope for something less arcady, less the direction of Saints Row... just an example I think many people also would agree with

That said, development on a pre-existing platform, engine, Middleware, all should have amounted to a shorter time span, just my way of thinking about it, but they also have to work with new hired staff, and there was rumor during the delay perhaps a tear down and rebuild of part of what makes up RAGE with Euphoria, but again, time will tell.

The massive money day GTA shows is that other game makers can approach the same school of thought and perhaps win out, but to beat GTA will be damn near impossible now!

GTA isn't about realism. Its about the humour and fun of the game, their replay value. Realism isn't always that great.

I hope they take all the time they need to keep making truly great games.

I tuned into Newswire just over an hour from Rockstars' update, and I posted some comments there as usual, one of which was regarding the waterway basin used in movies like Terminator 2, and I believe Gone in 60 Seconds remake, Eleanor speeds off from a helicopter in that, just awesome! hahaha

Note though this was dated Feb 2007, the plan of spending 2 billion extends up to 50 years, which seems a bit unheard of in City planning, but also keep in mind, this is Los Santos in fictional reality. I thought even Rockstar might be interested in this find, since they obviously have affinity for the real place, as they do for New York and Florida (without Jack Thompson who also resides there! hahaha)

What any of this has to do with GTA V we shall never know.

It's in the game in case you're blind as well as not too bright, which seems a given

Bustago, age doesn't matter when it's shared interest, that's always the case.... Also anyone in love with someone younger or older then themselves would also disagree with your sentiment

    Case in point.

No offence bro, but your 'middle aged guy' trying to talk to the 20 somethings thing, is getting a bit creepy.

  4. I don't think I'm really surprised. This is Rockstar we're talking about, and it's pretty much a given that they'll delay a game if they need the time. I remember GTA IV being delayed, and according to my googlefu it appears that RDR and LA Noire were also delayed before their releases. It's just disappointing that they had to turn their back on their promise of Spring 2013.

LA Noire, Delayed? Too fecking right, six years it took from announcement to release.

    Canis Canem Edit, delayed.

Max Payne 3, delayed (by 2 years!).

Rockstar Delay games, but only to improve them. Just shows they're not a corporate shitbox like EA, they want to make games, not just money.

My thoughts: Fuck rockstar!! If they're gonna fuck with us like that they better start providing us with some new and better media!

And where is the box art we were promised?

YES HOW DARE THEY MAKE SURE THE GAME ISN'T BUGGY AS F*** WHEN IT'S RELEASED! FUCK YOU ROCKSTAR YOU MOTHERF***ERS.

Grab your molotovs and peanut butter, let's go teach Rockstar not to f*ck with us. We're gonna make that piece of s*it studio of theirs look like Christmas in Afganistan! Come on!

Tun3r, mate. I will never understand you.

  5. Rockstar Games have already comfirmed that the map of GTA V will be the biggest map ever made for an open world game, so expect it to be just abit bigger than Red Dead Redemption.

The map will be different from San Andreas, like GTA IV was compared to GTA III.

    Source: CVG

The biggest open world map was Just Cause 2 wasn't it?

R* will have a hell of a time trying to make something bigger than that (with acceptable amount of detail.).

  6. English please, if you must, include both, but English is the rule for most of these forums, UK or USA based

Welcome to the new TGTAP International Forum, where you talk about GTA in your own language!

Start every topic with a two-letter code for the language, such as [EN] or [FR]. Please stick to one language in each topic.

    Have fun!

This is in the international forum, the point of which is to allow posting in other langauges, they do not need to post in English.

  7. I left the forums sometime after IV came out and only re appeared a few months before the V trailer, it is good to see some old names again. It's hard to think that this forum is now made up of adults, am I the only one embarrassed by looking through their old posts?

I do have a theory as to why the activity dwindled, or as to why I stopped visiting at least, I got a car and got really into that and the assosciated forum (and carried on with subsequent cars), maybe everyone else got cars and dear I say it 'grew up'.

I'll take that back, upsized our toys.

  8. If the promo period extends to Christmas or next year, then perhaps one or more lengthy magazine articles might surface, it was rumored about 5 months back that some guy at a magazine was spilling the beans about a visit Rockstar paid to the studios in New York.

Nothing happened from that rumor that I remember. Most of those kinda things turn out to be total bunk from the overly eager fans hoping to stir the hype machine, without pay from Rockstar!! hahaha Anyway, it sounds like you want another trailer, and don't we all, bud, don't we all!?? You and me both, as they say. It won't show actual gameplay but all of these are based on the REAL game engine.

I'm laughing at the notion that GTA V is being held up for release to next gen consoles, since no word on any kit has even come to light, so that means Rockstar doesn't have a kit, and if they had one to develop on this long, other studios would have leaked such info since they're less secretive.

It's been noted in the online press that perhaps Next Gen console kits shipped during the early months of THIS YEAR. I've not heard anything beyond that yet.

Why did you bring up the next gen consoles, there is no hint of that at all, not by anyone with any credibility, and most importantly by anyone who posted in this thread. You are trolling, you're bringing up rubbish, and trying to spread it as rumors. This game is easily within the restraints of the current gen consoles, there is NOTHING to suggest otherwise so stop spouting crap. You have been doing this for months starting random threads and posting random shit trying to pass it of as fact or trying to start rumors.
